Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
paranoidmummy · 11/04/2008 09:30

possible = possibly

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 11/04/2008 09:31

similar, PM, similar.

But we're not going to congratulate you on having a poo. We're also not going to give it a name.

Nice try though

lulumama · 11/04/2008 09:31

well, you will feel better after a good clear out !

paranoidmummy · 11/04/2008 09:39

well... my boiler has packed up this morning tho meaning we have NO hot water or heating so now i am just waiting for sod's law to kick in. it would be terribly difficult to have a newborn in the house without these amenities... i reckon if i keep saying that its going to fall out to try and get the better of me...

does anyone know much about clary sage? i've tried it in the bath numerous times and had zilch from it. does it actually work or is it a lie someone made up to make my house smell like i've been smoking marijuana?!

Piccalilli2 · 11/04/2008 09:42

Paranoidmummy the clary sage is doing nothing for me either - I've tried it in the bath and massaged (with carrier oil) into bump. I quite like the smell but stll no sign of baby (now 4 days overdue)

paranoidmummy · 11/04/2008 09:55

picalilli - glad its not just me, i wonder if its a bit of an old wives tale now? my ds gets very very cross if i use it cos he hates the smell... he won't come near me afterwards!!! i think jasmine oil can supposedly do something to but only tried it once so far? hope it happens for you soon... being overdue is very slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

VictorianSqualor · 11/04/2008 09:57

Nothing works I tell you!
Every single little trick that anyone ever tells you is BOLLOCKS.
I've tried them all.

Piccalilli2 · 11/04/2008 09:58

Paranoidmummy, I'm on the clary sage, raspberry leaf, pineapple, hot curries, long walks, evening primrose oil....but am convinced none of them work unless the baby's ready to come. I did all this last time as well and dd was 16 days late. 16. Hope it happens for you soon too but I have a feeling I'm in for the very long haul again.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 11/04/2008 10:01

Like most of the labour inducing tricks, clary sage will only work if you are ready, and it won't work for everyone.

I've also heard people put it in their oil burners.

DonDons · 11/04/2008 10:01

morning {smile]

no developments here either and am sick to death of farking pineapple.

can I ask a question? does everybody have a show before labour (and in that case a long time before) labour kicks in - or can the 2 things happen close to each other? TIA

VictorianSqualor · 11/04/2008 10:03

DonDons, I havent ever done labour so cant speak for myself but I was a friends birthing partner and she ahd her show after being in slow labour for two days, actually at the hospital once 4cm dilated, so no, not everyone has a 'show' before labour.
It is also possible you could have a bit of a show and not realise, in the bath or on the toilet etc.

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 11/04/2008 10:03

dondons - I will bow to lulu or mars's superior knowledge, but I don't think everyone does have a show. I had mine waaaaay into the labour - I was already at the hospital in the labour suite by then, but as you know from others' experiences on these threads, you can have a show days before labour starts.

DonDons · 11/04/2008 10:05

Thanks you two - was despairing that having had 'no show' meant I was way off anything happening in the near future.

paranoidmummy · 11/04/2008 10:05

oh vs i thought you may be busy 'popping' as hadn't seen you on here yet this morn. boo hiss boo

piccalilli - 16 days . that does sound a long old haul. i'm glad your hosp 'allowed' you to wait tho. i'm tempted to move my induction date from next wed til fri now... not too sure

VictorianSqualor · 11/04/2008 10:07

PM, If it wasn't for the fact that I'll be having to do the school run again from the 21st and want to be able to at least walk slightly if I have a CS, I'd be putting off mine again come monday.
If you want to wait and can, then do it.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 11/04/2008 10:07

I only had a show when I was way into established labour.

I never had any signs that labour was imminent (sp?). I just woke up in the middle of the night with backache, went back to sleep, woke up again then realised the ache was happening regularly.

What I'm trying to say is you may not have any warning signs, so don't worry that it's never going to happen

Piccalilli2 · 11/04/2008 10:11

PM they induced me on the evening of 14 days late, but she didn't arrive til 16 days late. That child really did not want to come out and eventually had to be dragged out with forceps. This time I'm booked for induction at 14 days over, was considering leaving it a bit longer but frankly just want her OUT.

paranoidmummy · 11/04/2008 10:13

thanks vs, i think i'm going to wait until tues and if nothing has happened i'll call them and move it til fri. i'll see if i'm ripping my hair out by then!!! i really really hope your little one makes an appearance beforehand. are you having any more mw checks/sweeps etc before?

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh iliketomoveit... that sounds ideal. i keep hoping i'll be woken in the night with that... so far i have been bitterly disappointed!!!

paranoidmummy · 11/04/2008 10:15

oh i really do empathise piccalilli, i really do. all these ladies who go into labour at 39 weeks are so lucky!!!

DonDons · 11/04/2008 10:45

thanks again all - as a matter of fact I do have back ache today (and headache....).

Picalilli - poor you - 14 days! I suspect we are at the same hospital (think we live in same place) - hope they don't leave me that long too!

VictorianSqualor · 11/04/2008 10:58

hahahaha backache? you think backache is a sign?

DonDons · 11/04/2008 11:08
Blush
scorpio1 · 11/04/2008 11:23

happy due date to me

VictorianSqualor · 11/04/2008 12:45

I don't care if you were due last week, that baby is either waiting til mine has been or coming at the same time, you hear me?

I was actually moaning to DP last night saying 'Nearly all the babies on my antenatal thread were before their due date, it's not faiiiiiiiiiiiiiir'
