Hi. I'm 39+2 and on maternity. Bored out of my mind and sat around waiting for baby to arrive. I've also moved cities to be closer to family for support.

It is my first child and everyone keeps saying you tend to be overdue when you have your first so wanted to know everyone's experiences. With your first child how early or late did you give birth in comparison to your due date?

41 weeks

Bigtom · 05/10/2023 20:11

I was 18 days overdue. Probably not what you wanted to hear!

Eryr22 · 05/10/2023 20:14

10 days overdue. Hopefully not too much longer for you! 🤞🏼

avocadotofu · 05/10/2023 20:17

I was nearly two weeks late.

DelilahBucket · 05/10/2023 20:18

Labour started at 36+5, he arrived at bang on 37. No one can guess when your baby will arrive. Everyone is different.

addictedtotheflats · 05/10/2023 20:29

41+5. currently 34 weeks with second and not ready AT ALL so hoping he or she will appear around due date and not before

Alloveragain3 · 05/10/2023 20:31

41 weeks, spontaneous labour

thaegumathteth · 05/10/2023 20:34

cadburyegg · 05/10/2023 20:36

39+5, spontaneous labour

With my first born 12 days overdue. I was induced.
With 2nd DC 9 days over due. Very quick labour.
With third DC C Section at 37 1/2 weeks as baby in stress and my blood pressure through the roof.

Thank you all for your responses, a real mixed bag of experiences and some interesting stats shared by some of you.

No signs of baby yet and currently 39+4 i believe. Will just have to try to be patient.

I'm going to consider a Membrane sweep at 40+4 but going to try other things such as reflexology in the meantime to see if labour can be bought on. Really not looking forward to the possibility of an induction but also not wanting it to drag out as far as say 42 weeks.

It's quite miserable being sat around especially as I'm not in my own home and husband is not going to be joining me until I show signs of labour as he is self employed.

40+3 weeks. I had a sweep done at 40+2!

Einevinefine · 08/10/2023 03:56

All four late, 40 weeks plus (long time ago now). First born was induced.

Hopefully not too long for you now OP and wishing you best and that you will have your little soon. x

HappyPurrrsday · 08/10/2023 04:12

induced bang on 14 days over, had her on that day.

Nezuko · 08/10/2023 04:36

I had a sweep the day before my son's due date. The midwife told me my cervix was completely closed, and called out "see you in a weeks time!" just before I left because your 1st baby apparently comes late for most first time mums. Labour started that same evening around 6pm, gave birth to him at 5 on the morning of his due date. I won't forget the look of the same said midwife's face in the hall way when she saw me & my dc in my arms as I was being ushered out in the labour ward 😂

Saturnsmoon · 08/10/2023 05:46

Currently 40+1 with my first. Have a sweep booked for 40+3 and induction booked for 41+2, hoping baby makes an appearance before then although 0 signs so far.

magneticmoon · 08/10/2023 06:09

2 weeks overdue, then induced, then 36 hour intense labour, then c section because she absolutely wasn't interested in coming out. Healthy baby though, is all that matters.

useitorlose · 08/10/2023 07:20

1 - the evening before due date
2 - 2 days after due date

RichPetunia · 08/10/2023 07:28

10 over

CatkinToadflax · 10/10/2023 18:12

109 days early. 😬

DS2 read the manual in utero and was only 14 days early!

good luck with it all OP.

mcdonaldschip · 10/10/2023 18:53

I had my son (first baby) exactly a week before his due date. No induction, but funnily enough was booked in for one the day he was born, glad I didn't need it though! Very happy he was early, I was so fed up of being pregnant. I think he got sick of the pokes and the eviction notices I was giving him, haha 😂
