FTM how close to your due date did you deliver?

Hi. I'm 39+2 and on maternity. Bored out of my mind and sat around waiting for baby to arrive. I've also moved cities to be closer to family for support.

It is my first child and everyone keeps saying you tend to be overdue when you have your first so wanted to know everyone's experiences. With your first child how early or late did you give birth in comparison to your due date?

Waters broke 39 weeks, baby arrived 39+3.

DC1 38+1

DC2 40+1 (in he early hours).

I always find it interesting on threads like this how many people can't just answer the question but also mention their other babies too. Or how long labour was/how big baby was etc.

You can say that again😅 mine was 4 hours from start (waters suddenly broke) to finish. Barely made it into the hospital in time! So it was early.. and quick!

My waters went the day before due date and then baby was born 00:29am on her ‘due date’

10 days over and my 2nd was 13 days good luck!

I was induced two days before my due date and then baby arrived 4 hours after their due date. Wasn't going to be rushed!

DS1 arrived spontaneously at 39+2

On my due date, but 4 days in labour first.

My waters broke at 38+5, 2 days before my ELCS for breech presentation.

Went into labour the day before my due date and DC1 born on their due date!

Yes, thanks. It was merely an observation.

80% of deliveries occur between 5 days before and five days after the due date.

37+5 …. we didn’t even have a car seat 😂

2 weeks after with my first. Which was only due to being induced at 41+5.

Currently in the early stage of labour with my second, also 2 weeks over. (Having declined induction this time.) He's still not particularly interested in coming out though!

On the actual due date

37 weeks exactly. I was in hospital with pre eclampsia and due to be induced when my waters went spontaneously.

Waters broke at 39+3, drip induction and born at 39+5

Went into labour on my due date (Friday) had him early hours Sunday morning.

1st was exactly a week late, 2nd only two days late

1st - 40+1 (6 hours after due date, 4 hour labour)

2nd - 39+1 - the day before my ELCS 😭 had to have another EMCS

My first was about 5 days before due date (everyone told me I’d go overdue because it was my first- it was the first day of my mat leave! I’d made plans for that week so I felt quite cheated!) Second arrived on her due date. That’s the only time she’s every been punctual in her life!
