did you start having sex again? I know its probably going to be the last thing on my mind, but I just want to know that I won't be doing myself any harm if its before the 6 week check up.

mossycow · 18/10/2007 19:45

Weird its so differnet for everyone. I'd prepared DH it might not be for months then was gagging for it when out of hospital - just after 3am feed too. What's wrong with me?!?!!! DH likes to think its cos he's so studly...

Minum · 18/10/2007 19:46

Yes, unbelivably painful, so we stopped as DH hated hurting me - I was determined to do it, as I was so scared I had turned into a mother and was no longer a woman by giving birth(have now come to terms with the fact you can be both !)

policywonk · 18/10/2007 19:53

Ouch, minum. I'm squeezing my thighs together here (not in a pervy way).

Belgianchocolates · 18/10/2007 19:57

5 weeks with DD and 8 weeks with DD. Both of the times because I wanted to. I actually wanted by about 6 weeks with DD but it was DH who was not showing any signs of interest!
I never understood how motherhood could kill some women's sex drive. It's a lovely way to relax after a day with the DC's and you soon get to know their routines and the best time to do it, iykwim.
P.S. Never leaked any breast milk during sex either.

OrmIrian · 18/10/2007 19:59

I used to go shivery even thinking about inserting a tampon for a few weeks.

HUNXXXX · 18/10/2007 20:00

i had a vag that looked liek an accident in teh channel tunel

thast why

OrmIrian · 18/10/2007 20:02

"It's a lovely way to relax after a day with the DC's "

Yeah but not as good as falling asleep with a good book. Sorry, but I was all touched out by the end of the day. The cat used to get kicked across the room if it tried to get on my knee...let alone DH.

16 weeks!

GColdtimer · 18/10/2007 21:48

"I never understood how motherhood could kill some women's sex drive"

Errr, not sure where to begin on this one. Actually I do, sheer bloody exhaustion!

Scanner · 18/10/2007 21:50

a couple of weeks, be careful my last two are eleven months apart!

Beenleigh · 18/10/2007 21:53

4 weeks first time, 12 second, next time don;t think I'll bother again!

Belgianchocolates · 18/10/2007 22:44

I know exhaustion always comes up as a reason. But I'm a bit odd is suppose in that I never found motherhood all that exhausting, despite being woken every 2 h for to BF my son AND being a part time single mum (DH works at sea) with no help whatsoever from any family as they either live abroad or the other side of the country.
(And now I hide before I get shot by everyone for such language)

Beenleigh · 18/10/2007 23:02

how old are your dc belgian?

HUNXXXX · 18/10/2007 23:03

belgian you are obviosuly a robot

Beenleigh · 18/10/2007 23:04

xXxspookyxXx · 18/10/2007 23:06

marybleedinpoppins over there im always exhausted even when im asleep

Belgianchocolates · 18/10/2007 23:11

I'm still here, just was doing something a bit different. DC's now 3 & 5. Once upon a time 0 & 2. Am actually more tired now I work than when they were tiny and I was at home with them, even though they sleep through the night now.

potatofactory · 19/10/2007 08:14

Thank god some of you are saying 6 months (my daughter's age). We haven't done it yet, and I was feeling awful looking at the early bit of this thread. Are you all mad? What's the rush? My stitches came unravelled though, so was feeling VERY SORE INDEED and now there is scar tissue RIGHT THERE (if you see what I mean). Got to get used to the idea, but had better get round to it soon, or we'll be heading for the divorce courts (not that DH has put me under pressure, but there is a slightly wistful look in his eyes...)

ggglimpopo · 19/10/2007 08:19

When I was a hv, I once visited a woman who had lovebites all over her neck and bosoms - at the 11 day check.

colditz · 19/10/2007 08:20

Ifter ds1 as soon as I stopped bleeding - which was about 10 weeks.

After ds2 - god, a long long time.

colditz · 19/10/2007 08:21

Oh ggg EWWWWWWWW @ slapper badges.
