did you start having sex again? I know its probably going to be the last thing on my mind, but I just want to know that I won't be doing myself any harm if its before the 6 week check up.

3 wks once the stiches had healed and the piles shrumk away.
felt odd for a bit, then normalised.
sooner the better I say!

PeachyFleshCrawlingWithBugs · 18/10/2007 18:45

How your labour was probably is a lot to do with it- I've never had a stitch in my life (clearly bucket bits ) which ahs to ahev helped.

This time round though, gointg by the eway I am feelinga lready at 16 weeks- I reckon, ooooh in about 3 decades?

pooka · 18/10/2007 18:49

First time round absolutely ages because stitches were buggered up and had to be restitched when dd was 7 months.
Second time, when stopped bleeding. Which for both ds and dd was at about 6 - 8 weeks.

kittywitch · 18/10/2007 18:51

Wow, you ladies are amazing. ds3 is 6 months old and I can't think of anything less appealing to be frank

HUNXXXX · 18/10/2007 18:52

DIDNT SLEEP

coleyboy · 18/10/2007 19:00

4 weeks. DP was gagging for it, and I just wanted to get it out of the way (much like my virginity really!) and was curious to see if it was any different.

It wasn't any different btw.

HUNXXXX · 18/10/2007 19:01

oh god
it smakeing me feel ILL

the thought of it days afetr

all flappy and bloody and ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww

kittywitch · 18/10/2007 19:04

After this many children I doubt dp would dervive much pleasure from shagging me anyway

Minum · 18/10/2007 19:05

Couple of weeks. I'd had epis/stitches, and for some reason got the impression you had to have it BEFORE 6 week check up - when I saw the doctor was told I shouldnt have !

Was majorly loved-up with DH, because he had been so fantastic at the birth, so really really wanted to show him.

policywonk · 18/10/2007 19:06

Does anyone remember the woman who posted on here saying that she felt orgasmic when she was being stitched post-childbirth? Never been able to get that out of my head.

Lulumama · 18/10/2007 19:06

oh come on, how can i get the blame?? i am forever telling posters to bonk and twiddles their nips !!

HUNXXXX · 18/10/2007 19:07

the 6 week thign is a myth

pointydog · 18/10/2007 19:13

6 weeks and not because I wanted to, just to quell my fear that I would never be able to ever again

mum2bejan · 18/10/2007 19:16

those of you that waited for quite some time afterwards, was your dp okay about it or mardy and frustrated?

OP posts:
Jojay · 18/10/2007 19:17

6 weeks, and it felt weird. Got better soon after though. Had epis / stitches

massivebigpumpkinface · 18/10/2007 19:20

still haven't....
i won't say how long...

GColdtimer · 18/10/2007 19:32

OK about it mum2bejan, but I do know of other DPs that were completely mardy waiting 6 weeks. In all honestly, if DH had behaved like that it would have been even longer than 6 months

mum2bejan · 18/10/2007 19:34

I think I'd be pretty safe in assuming that if it was the men that had to give birth they would never recover enough to have sex again

OP posts:
policywonk · 18/10/2007 19:37

ditto twofalls - DP never said a word. He just assumed (rightly) that I would let him know when I was ready.

Highlander · 18/10/2007 19:37

13 months with DS1.

DS2 is 12 mo and I still have no inclination. Soooooooooo tired - it kills your sex drive.

pointydog · 18/10/2007 19:39

dh had enough intelligence to imagine what I was feeling like and what my body had been through.

policywonk · 18/10/2007 19:40

Those of you who did the deed within a couple of weeks of episiotomy/stitches... didn't it hurt like holy hell?
