Apart from your child being born obviously , for example did England win the world cup on the same day?

"Fishgate". DP and his brother had a long argument/falling out about a frozen fish.

We bought all the newspapers on the days that our DS's were born and still have them . The front page of DS1's born 1982 is Erika Rowe streaking across Twickenham Stadium in apparently 'the most memorable streak ever' !

We called 999 for the first time in my life as DD was nearly coming. Midwife (home birth) was delayed in traffic. Had 3 ambulances turn up.

My lovely old late ma have birth to one of my siblings in the States the day Kennedy was assassinated. There was a lot of shock and grief and sobbing apparently. My lovely sibling made it ok apparently. My mum always said the news kept filtering through then she’d just look at him and forget it all.

The number of people dying from Covid in my local hospital had suddenly ramped up. We were a few days into lockdown and it all suddenly felt really serious. My husband drove me to the labour ward with my mum but they both had to stay outside. As I was hugging them both goodbye at the door I'll never forget my mum saying to me "be careful, it isn't very nice in there at the moment". Strange, scary times.

DD3 our town found out it was now a city. She likes to remind her big sisters that she's a city slicker and they're not.

My dad was having heart surgery as I gave birth.

Crazymummyto3 · 25/09/2020 20:21

PurpleMackington · 28/09/2020 16:12

On the day my son was born, my husband and I were told we would not be able to have children.

13 months later we adopted him :)

A friend from uni lost both of his legs in Afghanistan. That's the only thing I can think of 😕

JasminaPashmina · 28/09/2020 16:24

Not me but a friend was watching TV in hospital while nursing her brand new baby and saw her ex as one of the 'wanted' on Crimewatch. He was her first teenage sweetheart and they were together years. She said it gave her chills to get a glimpse of the kind of life she might've had instead.

Riverseawoods · 28/09/2020 21:06

My eldest was born during a massive thunderstorm and my youngest in a massive snowstorm. We had trouble getting the car out to go to the hospital!

Chonkyfire · 28/09/2020 21:10

Civil partnerships became legal in the U.K. and Elton John married David Furnish that day.

WhenTwoBecomeThree · 29/09/2020 16:24

It was Manchester derby and Anthony Joshua had a boxing match, so of course everybody was out. We had to call my dad at 12am to take us to the hospital because taxis had said it would be at least an hour!

The queen mother died. Everyone was telling me I had to name dd Elizabeth. I did not.

Londonmummy66 · 29/09/2020 17:00

Dh proudly sat DC1 on his lap and she promptly wee'd on him. Midwives and I were killing ourselves laughing but he didn't find it funny for some reason...

My waters broke on my friend's sofa.

FourPlasticRings · 29/09/2020 17:05

Anyone else see this as a poorly hidden request for personal info? Or am I just very paranoid?

PolarBearStrength · 03/10/2020 08:22

No significant world events!

I insisted on eating a massive Dominoes and threw up everywhere 😂
