Chances of transverse baby turning at 38+2 weeks?

Has anyone’s baby moved from transverse into correct position at 38+2 weeks? Found out today after visit to MU that baby is lying transverse.

I am being kept in due to other issues and ultrasound tomorrow. I have anaesthetist coming round to see me soon. Midwives and doctor has mentioned caesarean?

I’m pretty nervous at the thought of caesarean, is there a chance baby will move on their own? Is it more painful than a vaginal birth?

It feels as if he has moved again, I hope he has, starting to feel bit nervous now for tomorrow 😰

Yes it will be a c section I wouldn't want to try and have him turned.
Hope everything goes well it will all be fine one way or another. Keep us posted! 💐👶🏼🤞🏻

Yeah don’t think I would try turning either. Will update use in morning 😊

Fingers crossed for you today @asongforthelovers. I was at OAU for 3 hours last night but the good news is they seem to be head down still (no scan but midwife had a feel). Had to sit on a monitor for an hour though... no idea why and they think every now and then baby lies on the cord which is clever of them so the alarm on the monitor kept going off... slightly unnerving! 🙈 Back to the waiting game for me, hope your little monkey has gone back down!

Heads down, pessary inserted 😰

If it’s any comfort my sis had a beautiful baby girl yesterday, by c section as she was breech. All is well. Good luck.

asongforthelovers · 03/10/2017 11:04

Aw that’s lovely @smogsville. Hope Mum and baby doing well.

I never got scanned but midwife said she felt head when examining me. Getting lots of pains, hope this is start 🤞🏻

Thanks, they do seem to be. I had two planned sections too and have been fine, EBF them both for a year etc so it’s not necessarily anything to worry about. Good luck for next few days - exciting times!

Wow head down that's great. Lucky you!

I've had two inductions one pessary one drip. The pessary one was a really quick good labour and I recovered very quickly home the same day.

You will be fine.
Update eagerly awaited!

lollipop7 · 03/10/2017 12:10

@smogsville congratulations on the birth of your niece. I've got a breech monkey who hasn't shifted for a while and seems very comfortable. I'm dreading having a c section if he stays put but I always like reading stories where I went well.
No attempt at a ecv or a breech delivery (😱😱😱😱) for me!

mummabubs · 03/10/2017 12:19

Eeeee exciting for you @asongforthelovers, hope they make their appearance soon! Can't believe they went head down again, what are our ones like eh?! 🙈🙈

smogsville · 03/10/2017 17:55

lollipop I have to tell you both mine were brilliant. I wouldn’t have opted for normal delivery for all the tea in China (and i drink a lot of tea). Best of luck to you.

asongforthelovers · 03/10/2017 18:31

2nd pessary been put in hour ago, contractions every 2 minutes. Don’t think it’s going to go anywhere. I swear I wish I asked for c-section last week now @lollipop7

@asongforthelovers sorry to hear you're so glum. You are a little behind me in terms of when I was induced which was 40+5.
I hope the second pessary has started to work its magic and things are happening. The end is in sight though stay strong you can do this! 👍🏻💐😊

asongforthelovers · 04/10/2017 02:30

He’s here, hooooorah!! I am so glad for that 😁

Yay!!! Congratulations @asongforthelovers!! Xxx

lollipop7 · 04/10/2017 08:55

Fantastic news!
I thought I was going into labour at one point myself last night and wondered how you were getting on. False alarm for me 😊

Do we get a picture?
Hope the labour was good, and the pessary was all you needed.
Well done Mummy! 💐👏🏻💐
