I am awaiting the arrival of dc3, but with both of the other two the labour started in the night. Is that the most common time?

Dd waters broke at 1am no contractions until next day but had to go in as only 36 weeks, tranferred to delivery room at 1pm at 5cm and gave birth at 2.49pm.

Ds1 contractions started at 5am (38 weeks), timed them until 7am when I felt I needed to go in. 8am we got to hospital and at 8.30am I was checked and 1cm. 9.30am in lots of pain with contractions on top of each other checked again and 8cm. Pushing started at 10am, waters broke at 10.20am. Finally gave birth at 12.08pm.

Ds2 waters broke at 5am stayed in bed until 7am got up and called hospital, got there at 9am (was 39 weeks), checked at 10.50am and was 3cm having regular contractions which were getting worse. Checked again at almost midday and was only 5cm. Minutes later I felt like pushing and progressed to 7 cms within seconds and then a minute or so later was fully dilated. Started pushing and gave birth at 1.48pm. Lots of problems during labour though.

Elliedragon - would love to know if my dc3 will start arriving at night too! (38 weeks today). Dd took from 5 a.m. to just before noon, ds from 3 a.m. to 8 a.m. Both very similar, only 1 ounce difference in weight, hoping for same again !

lizziemun · 30/03/2007 16:58

My waters broke about 6.30am with bleeding - no contraction.

I was already 8cm dilated by 8am when dr examined me.

DD was born at 2.15pm but i think it would have been quicker if i hadn't been given a petherdine injection.

3 am x 2

sarahhal · 30/03/2007 20:09

Hello Bozza!! Did you have yours in Huddersfield? ( please let it be Bozza who lives near me!!)

By the way, (Hijack, sorry) do you have a LO starting reception Sept/Jan? Have you heard anything from Kirklees.

bozza · 30/03/2007 20:15

Hi Sarah. Yes I had DS in Huddersfield (Feb 2001) but DD was born at home (planned). DS is already at school and DD is not due to start until Jan 2009 but if things change that would be Sept 2008 (she is a May baby). I have not heard anything for definite just more rumours and not about when the change would be effective from. But our councillors are doing a street surgery on Sunday am so I thought I might ask them. Nothing to lose... Will let you know if they come up with anything.

sarahhal · 30/03/2007 20:22

Bozza, DS2 is August 25th so I am desperate that they don't change admissions!!

By the way, re middle schools.( long time ago we spoke about this!) Sounds like they will de-middlise the Cleckheaton area first, then us, but not for a long time. It seems to be thought that the primaries will take on Year 6 and the middle school sites become KS3 feeders for SC. As a teacher I'd love that - dream job would be my subject KS3 co-ordinator in the middle school!!

Are you doing Mile for Maude at the Sculpture Park?

Toady · 30/03/2007 21:04

DS1 - emergency caeserean at 36 weeks, did not go into labour

DD2 - 5.00pm after cooking the tea

bettythebuilder · 30/03/2007 22:00
