What time of day did you go into labour?

I am awaiting the arrival of dc3, but with both of the other two the labour started in the night. Is that the most common time?

6.30am with dd. she was my first & was born at 4.20pm after being on a drip for hours.

4pm with ds & he was born at 10.20, 10 mins after arriving at hosp

My contracvtions started at 10pm ish on the wed, went to hosp at 7am and had dd at 7.45pm thurs.

Night is supposed to be the most common, - animal insincts dark warm bed and all.

However I wento labour about 11am with both pregnancies...

• 5 am contractions started on Sat morning

- 11 am waters broke - 12 noon went to hospital Sent home only dilated 2cm Contractions intensify

• 4 pm return to hospital

Still only dilated 2cm (mycomium found during internal exam) - 5pm put on oxytocin drip - 3 am DS born

Definitely knew I was in labour at 4pm but looking back, I think I had started labour during the morning (no pains, just 'funn'y feelings all day - DS born 5pm the following day.

pre-labour contractions during evening and possibly during the whole day before (I felt tightenings but no real pain)

proper labour started at midnight, he was born at 7.40 am.

DS1 10:30am labour was confirmed and they also said I was 4cm, so 8:30am contraction started just after my water started running down my leg! Born at 14:13. ( 3 hours 43 mins from getting to the hospital to babe in arms)

DS2 12.30am labour was confirmed and they said I was almost 5cm, so 7.00pm but I wasn't sure until 9/10pm got to the hospital at 11.30 then at 12.30am they said I was in active labour. born at 2:25 (2 hours and 55 min from getting to the hospital and babe in arms)

Had PROM at 34 wks on a Tues morning while still at work but it was tiny ,tiny trickles and as a thick first timer thought I was weeing myself/some sort of show....anything but waters having gone ( thank god for panty liners!).By the time DP picked me up from work, I had stopped leaking

Still went to work on the Wed (DUH!),still no contractions.Water situation got worse on the afternoon.Went home early for shower etc , went to Hospital about 7pm. Next lot of waters went at around 1am,still no contractions.

Body decided to flick the contraction on switch at 9:10am on the Thurs morning,DS arrived at 11:02am by the good ol`salad servers!.

I have told my body that it will do it all properly this time round!

only 2cm, but hosp far away from home, so stayed, in bed, awake,
fully dilated by 3pm sat
dd born sat 17.37, 2hrs on drip-hell!!

The first contractions I felt were at 4.30am. In established labour by 11am, fully dilated by 7pm, my mv broke my waters around 8pm, started me on a drip at 9pm, I pushed like mad, but dd got stuck. She turned up by emergency c-section at 11.48pm.

dd1 - 10pm
dd2 - 11am (following a night of d & v which I think got things moving )
ds - 10pm

7pm, ds was born 24hours +5 min later

Woke up at 3am with mild contractions, went into hospital at 8am, ds born at 11:10am.

prelabour contractions 2pm-7pm -ish
proper contractions 7pm onwards
arrived at hospital 12am
DS born 3:30am

statsitically most women labour/give birth at night apparently - heard smthg on Radio 4 the other day that said this was so that our ancestors could labour then go hunter-gathering the next day - more likely due to safety/less preditors at night I would have thought...

Ds - waters went 3am, went into labout proper about 6pm next eve, gave birth 12.31am
dd - prelabour for two days, labour proper from about 5am, born 9.15am

why doesn't mn have a bloody spell check facility

1.00 am ish - started with contractions
2.5 days later (!) went into active labour at around 7.00 pm, and had DS at 6.30 am the next morning

Uncomfy all day
Contractions started about 9pm
Dd born 7.42 next morning

Ds1 - 1am mild contractions started spontaneously
Dd - was induced, pessary at 10am, contractions started at 5pm
Ds2 - 10pm did a bit of nipple stimulation, 11pm full blown contractions started

5 am waters broke

5.30 am strong contractions
