Hi! I'm 40 + 3 today and starting to feel like this is never going to happen. I have had no mucous plug or show that I know of, very few braxton hicks so feel like i have no idea when it's going to start! Baby is 2/5ths engaged so really low now and i am getting a lot of the sharp stabbing cervix pains in the evenings every night now but that's about it!
Anyone else getting annoyed and want to share?!
I also can't drive as of yesterday as I can't shut my legs enough to reach the pedals properly! So house bound now and wondering if today could go any slower!
Sorry for all the moaning!! Please feel free to add your own moans and keep me company! :)

I know how you feel. I feel like i am going to be pregnant forever too. I keep doing the same things to try and get things going but nothing is happening. I write this on all fours in the hope that it may help somehow!? But I have actually no idea if it will! I just can't see it starting on its own now. Let alone actually having a baby, it seems to feel further away the more overdue I get.x

Morning ladies. How are we doing?

I had a bloody show on Friday and a few pains, when I woke up yesterday morning not in labour I cried!!

Then nothing yesterday, last night or this morning. I think mine is back to back too and I think labour is never going to start. Grrr! Will go for another walk today I suppose.

Sending you all positive 'hope things get moving soon' vibes!

kitkatkaty87 · 22/02/2015 11:37

Oo at least that's another step in the right direction though. Can't be too far off if you've had a show! Fingers crossed for you. I've just been for another walk which feels like it's done nothing! Mine is apparently in a good position so has no excuse for not coming!
Xx

40+1 today and no signs of anything happening imminently. I feel it may be a long couple of weeks for me :(. I am relaxed about it all, but feeling really bored today and about the week ahead as I have nothing planned. Don't see my Mw until Tuesday and as she hasn't even discussed a sweep with me, I'm not optimistic about getting one then. I will ask though.

Serafinaaa · 22/02/2015 21:42

I was offered a sweep at 40+2 but declined as I'd rather not mess with nature if I can help it. If the baby is not ready to come then I'm guessing it has a reason for that and forcing it into action could just lead to a slow and drawn out labour. I'm waiting till 42 weeks before considering anything more.

fluffymouse · 22/02/2015 23:36

Here's to hoping for some overnight action Wine

FoulsomeAndMaggotwise · 22/02/2015 23:43

40 weeks tomorrow here. Have been having stop start contractions for weeks so I really thought she'd be here by now. DS was 4 days old by this point.

I totally understand that feeling of "it's just never going to happen". Bluergh!

BigCatFace · 23/02/2015 01:20

41 weeks tomorrow with my PFB. I'm really enjoying the time with my husband but we're so ready now and I'm fed up and immobile. No signs at all and having a sweep at 10am. It's also not helpful to do the, "Baby will come when its ready / you're not overdue yet". It's downright annoying because although it's true, there is a lot of pressure to be induced as 42 weeks looms. Of course you want the baby to arrive first and it's anxiety making.

kitkatkaty87 · 23/02/2015 07:43

Big cat completely the same as you and agree with what you have said. Especially when it's first born you are literally waiting everyday for something unknown! Can't help but obsess about it! I am 41 weeks today had pains in the night but pretty sure it was just trapped wind! My dh is back at work today so a very long day on my own. Good luck with your sweep. Please let me know how it goes as i have one on Wednesday. Xx

You don't have to be induced at 42 weeks if you don't want to. It's still up to you. The catch 22 problem is that the closer you get to the dreaded 42 weeks, the more anxious you start to feel, the less oxytocin etc you produce and then the less likely you are to go into natural labour! I know it's hard to stay relaxed though, I'm stressing now at 41+2. Going for some acupuncture later. I don't know if it will do anything but it feels like making a positive step.

fluffymouse · 23/02/2015 12:08

Acupuncture has no evidence that it works serafina but if you enjoy it then go for it.

I completely understand the frustration of going overdue. Every day I wonder if things will happen today.

Baby seems very comfortable!

Serafinaaa · 23/02/2015 12:57

There's little evidence that anything works, other than drugs which mimic the natural hormones, as who knows whether women who try something would have gone into labour at exactly that time anyway. Anything that is relaxing has got to be better than stressing though. Animals don't go into labour, or their labour stops, when thy are disturbed or stressed. I'm sure that must also apply to us too in some respects.

fluffymouse · 23/02/2015 13:23

serafina there is good evidence that nipple stimulation works, though I realise that's not up everyone's street!

There is good evidence however that acupuncture doesn't work. Lil

fluffymouse · 23/02/2015 13:24

Posted too soon.

I wish you the best with the acupuncture, if you enjoy it. If you don't then don't waste your money though!

kitkatkaty87 · 23/02/2015 16:49

My local hospital offers accupressure and reflexology session with sweep so it must help in some way for some people. Even if it just relaxes you that may help kick things off

fluffymouse · 23/02/2015 16:57

Kit kat that is surprising seeing as nice guidelines specifically say not to offer those!

Serafinaaa · 23/02/2015 19:41

Mine doesn't offer those but it does offer aromatherapy.

FoulsomeAndMaggotwise · 23/02/2015 19:52

Mine offers acupuncture too which surprised me.

As for the nipple stimulation, don't you have to do like 3 hours a at every day for it to have any effect? Mine couldn't handle that!

fluffymouse · 24/02/2015 00:48

3x15 minute sessions per day!

No news so far here. Fingers crossed for everyone overnight. Flowers

kitkatkaty87 · 24/02/2015 13:59

No news here either. Just very uncomfortable and woke up at 5am feeling sick and shakey but it has worn off now. 41+1 today :s how's everyone else doing today? X

fluffymouse · 24/02/2015 16:40

40+4. Still no action!

FoulsomeAndMaggotwise · 24/02/2015 20:52

40+1, nothing here. Feel like a bit of an intruder at only one day over!

A girl I know gave birth at 34 weeks and her baby has a stoma bag and I just keep thinking of him, which just makes me very grateful that Baby Foul is safe in there and healthy. So I'm not feeling the rush at the moment.

Which will probably mean it'll happen tonight now!

DrCoconut · 24/02/2015 21:58

Wii fit! I was on the damn thing for, hours trying to get Ds2 moving. Had him at 41+4 in the end, no induction, though i was brought in for monitoring.

fluffymouse · 24/02/2015 22:13

Your more than welcome here foulsome
Is this your first?

Dcoconut I wish I had the mobility to do that. With my SPD I struggle to even get out of bed Sad

FoulsomeAndMaggotwise · 24/02/2015 23:04

Thanks fluffy! No, my second. My first was born at 39+3 after my labour started at 39+1 so I guess I didn't expect to see my due date, let alone go past it!

You have my sympathies with the SPD, it's an absolute arsehole.
