so here we are, 2 days over due, had irregular contractions since 8am.
and at 3pm I think my waters broke so we are going to hospital to get checked.

it could be it, or false alarm, but I had a mother of a contractions 10 minutes ago ago - the next one I will need G&A with!!!!

I'll try to update as I can.

wish me luck

Evening my lovelies!

It's baking hot in my room, but I'm privileged , one of the staff got me a fan! Seriously royal treatment.
I think I deserve itWink

Elijah is fast asleep, he is really sweet and so far quite easy.

Kids were lovely with new baby bro, the first meet was very nice & calm.
They all very pleased, apart from DD who was a bit confused and just wanted to climb on me. She is 2 so that's ok
She did give him a kiss eventually so it will be ok.

DS5 said baby's name was Jack (jung ! GrinGrin) then I said he was Elijah and he replied "I knew that mummy"

DS1 told me, with a big grin on his face, that now that I'm not pg anymore I can start helping again.Grin Cheeky lad!

DH just been, bought me lots of food - because I'm just ravenous.
And I have realised one thing - no more morning sickness! Ever again. Yay!!!!WinkGrin

Elijah is a seriously rocking name! Give him one hundred kisses from us..I can't remember who said " babies are God's opinion life should go on.." Brightest blessings to you all..xx

ZingGoesPop · 19/07/2014 06:59

That's lovely, secret!

harold well done!Smile

Just had a 5-hour sleep!Elijah is so quiet, I think he was awake before me, but kept himself entertained by stuffing his fist in his mouth..well done son!Grin

I'm on round-the-clock pain killers because of the afterpains, which if the drugs wear off are immense.
Also all my muscles ache and it's hard to stand up straight and breathe properly.
I forgot about these things.
And the first poo! For those who care about details like that I managed one yesterday, and luckily it didn't hurt, despite the few stitches I have.

I can't believe how tired I am. Feet and hands are still sore & very swollen - probably combo of heat and bags of antibiotics pumped into me during labour.

Seriously it's been so hot, we were advised not to cuddle him too much as his temperature went up a few times just from our body heat!Shock
But I had a lovely hug with him this morning and for the first time he really looked at me.Smile
So looking forward to first smiles.

Happy Saturday to you all!Envy

Aw, Zing, I'm glad you had a good night.
What a clever boy, entertaining himself - long may it continue!

The First Poo is a momentous event - I remember dreading it and then being very relieved and a bit disappointed when it was just fine Grin

Happy, happy weekend to you too - hope you'll get home v soon x.

What's your new name going to be? "ZingDeflatedButEcstatic"?

TheRealAmandaClarke · 19/07/2014 07:57

SecretWitch · 19/07/2014 14:02

OHHHH, Zing, please try to get as much rest as you and your sweet baby can possibly manage! When you can though, just take the tiniest nibble from one of his little toes..< sighs with envy>

Jux · 19/07/2014 15:29

Congratulations Zing! And Welcome to Elijah, it's a wonderful world out there, and you've got it all to discover!

Thanks
ZingGoesPop · 19/07/2014 15:42

We are home now. Had lunch in the garden, which was lovely.

Afterpains are agonising, next dose at 6pm I don't know what I will do till then.

Does anyone know if it's ok to take nurofen when bf?
MW in postnatal ward said its fine, but I'm not sure.

OP posts:
ZingGoesPop · 19/07/2014 15:43

Secret - nibbling done!Grin

OP posts:
addictedtosugar · 19/07/2014 15:54

Zing,

Congrats on the safe arrival of Elijah!

If the nurofen is just straight Ibuprofen, the breast feeding network says its fine linky

You can mix ibuprofen and paracetamol - so if you took the ibuprofen now, paracetamol at 6, and more ibuprofen several hours later.

When is the next baby zing arriving??? Grin

ZingGoesPop · 19/07/2014 16:11

Addicted - thanks.

Yes, just ibuprofen. I couldn't wait to find out so took some anyway, now curling up on loo waiting for pain to go.

No more kids for us. Would have loved an 8th but no.
In fact on way home from hospital MrZing shook hands, congratulating each other on successfully completing our family!GrinGrin

I honestly couldn't do this again. From start to finish it was a difficult pg.
Labour is what it is, but I was feeling really sick in the pushing phase and vomited while trying to get him to crown.
I was sick immediately after giving birth, twice, and felt so awful I couldn't hold him for about an hour.
I know memories will fade and next year I will probably be broody again but we'll just buy some chickens or a puppy then!Grin

He was worth it all of it of course, but my body has had enough.

Right, diet starts tomorrow, isn't it?WinkGrin

OP posts:
AdoraBell · 19/07/2014 16:41

Diet is a four letter word ZingWink

ZingGoesPop · 19/07/2014 16:51

Adora - Grin
Pls pm me the polite thread. I have some words to say....

Nurofen seems to have kicked in, I will try and get up from floor - MrZing helped me off the loo, but I just couldn't walk to far and collapsed at the bottom of the stairs.

Could be worse. Could be without a phone & my vipers lovely girls...Wink
