First babies: when did yours arrive?

Expecting my first, due date is 12 October. I read that on average 1st babies come about 8 days after the 280-day period the doctor calculates. I'm really curious to know how early/late others went into labour with number one!

One week overdue, waters broke on 1st dec, then induced cos no contractions, popped out late on the 4th. Phew!

6 weeks premature, after 5 weeks in hospital, was induced because of severe pre-eclampsia/diabetes/polyhydramnios and then had 24 hour hideous labour and ds1 in SCBU for a week

DD was due on the 08/07, was in labour on the 18/07 and she was born on the 20/07 (yes, 48h22mns of labour!!!).. and that was my first baby.. Wish you pregnancy to go very well GemmitygemSmile

8 days late. The little rscal ws breech & no one noticed - hd to have c/section.

Thanks very much, everyone! I added up everyone and out of 79 people, 25 babies came more or less on due date, 19 a week or more early and 35 a week or more late!

So will be prepared for it to be late, based on that!! (almost half were a week or more late!)

dd1 was due on the 1st went into labour on the 9th and she was born on the 11th, so 10 days late.

dd2 by my dates was due on the 3rd by scan dates was due on the 14th she was born on the 21st. Her skin was very very dry when she was born and was starting to peel at the wrists and ankles but hospital insisted she was still only 1 week late. I don't believe them.

My first was five days late, although acc. to the hospital she was a week early.

DD was due on March 24th. She finally arrived on April 5th, after a failed induction, by c section.

My daughter bethany was born at 37 weeks after a 19 hour labour by emergency ceasarean. and was in the special care baby unit for 10 days....
