like, how did you fill the birth pool?
How did you keep hot?
How did you empty it?
Did you also deliver the placenta in the bell tent?

And many MANY more!

And, can I meet you? Am also in bell tent with 7 week old!

Do you think they meant to give birth there? Just go round and congratulate them Smile then you can ask in person Grin Just watch out in case the placenta is still there - in a dark corner say. Really embarassing if you step on a stranger's placenta (I assume)

TorchlightMcKenzie · 12/08/2012 19:21

Well they had their pool with them, and their midwife apparently, but ATM it's just campsite gossip!

Will head off in a mo to have a nosey find my daughter and perhaps I might accidentally come across the family. Rumour is it's her first!!!!!!

Obviously not naming location etc. How awful for the MIL to find out from this thread!!!!!!

Really? Her midwife came on their hols? And a campsite? Can't have been planned surely.

Northernlurker · 12/08/2012 19:24

Ah well if it's her first then quite a good idea to stick your nose in as she may need a bit of support as well as the midwife.

Sounds a bit like The Archers. Kate Aldridge gave birth to Phoebe in a teepee at Glastonbury having gone there with her midwife friend.

Groovee · 12/08/2012 19:27

Oh my word!!!!

TorchlightMcKenzie · 12/08/2012 19:47

Ooooh, found them and their scrummy baby!

Birth pool filled and heated in some quite complicated way involving vans, long hoses to nearby showers and cigarette lighters! Mother looks amazing, midwife gone, mother says prefers to stay fairly unwashed to keep her scent for baby!

Now I want to cry!!!!!

Oh that sounds nice - and impressive logistics! I wonder if they warned the campsite owners.....

TorchlightMcKenzie · 12/08/2012 19:52

Don't think she needs any support. Seems to have been showered with spontaneous gifts!

They should call her Bella Smile

TorchlightMcKenzie · 13/08/2012 09:25

No, campsite people didn't know. Apparently the tents around complained about the screaming frightening their girl children who are now scared of childbirth, and the birth pool used two of the 4 showers from 7am til 10am, and they called the papers immediately after the birth. Oh well!

Mental behaviour! Why not set up in a friend's garden or willing Farmer's field??!

5madthings · 14/08/2012 14:41

that is mad but lovely that it went well, i was wondering if you would do that so that you would be nearer a hospital? if say your house was a fair drive away but a campsite was close by to the hospital? clutching at straws!

how long had they been at the site do you know? i mean you could book for a week around your due date and still go more overdue?

dontlaugh · 14/08/2012 17:28

Bella, bell tent? I thought it quite brilliant, no?

Tigerbomb · 14/08/2012 17:35

According to the local paper - no one complained

aww just lovely and Bonnie was almost the name we gave our dd, for ages it was our top girls name. they look really content :)

it was planned then having hte midwife and a duola travelling with them etc, very organised!

strugglingwiththepreteenbit · 14/08/2012 19:50

what a lovely, perfect way to give birth.

TwelveLeggedWalk · 14/08/2012 19:57

Ah, so it's her second and she's a midwife. Thought it was quite a brave call otherwise! Presume

DoItOnce · 15/08/2012 10:14

Bonnie is a cute name. Do you think she should be given a free lifetime pass to the festival?

Himalaya · 15/08/2012 10:25

Wow!

FiveMonths · 15/08/2012 10:29

It does sound a bit selfish to use the showers all morning and I would personally try not to have any children in earshot if I was giving birth.,,mine or anyone else's.

very selfish in fact. And pretentious.

uselfullife · 15/08/2012 10:30

insane!!

FiveMonths · 15/08/2012 10:31

and Galadriel?

FFS. sorry but honestly. I hate people like that. For no good reason.

Methe · 15/08/2012 10:31

ome people will do anything for a bit of attention..

Noqontrol · 15/08/2012 10:32

Seems a bit weird if the campsite owners didn't know it was something likely to happen.
