I'm booked in for an induction this friday, first baby, and no idea really what to expect. In an ideal world, going in with an open mind is preferable. But in practice I'm probably going to be prone to losing it Blush

I'm currently 37 weeks, but measuring 41 weeks with Polyhydramnios, large baby with enlarged abdomen, plus being back to back Hmm

So, what should I expect? What was your experience?

Be honest, I can take it Confused

Glad you're home. It's scary but you have DP there to support you (wait on you hand and foot) now and you need to let/make him do it so you can recover.

I hope Molly was a little angel for you last night.

I remember getting home with DS1. He was asleep in the car seat. We put him in the middle of the living room, and started watching the telly. I remember looking at him and hoping he wouldn't wake up and need something. Blush

Great news McPhee. Hope the first night went well?? We got home from the hospital, laid DD down in her cot, sat on the sofa and said 'what do we do now?'. It was so weird!

You'll have some tough times and the tiredness really kicks in at around 2 weeks but it gets better/easier at around 6 weeks ( or it did for us at least).

Get yourself out and about as soon as you're able (DD's first walk was when she was 5 days old and we actually took her to a cemetery just around the corner from us!!!) but it did me a world of good, physically and mentally with fresh air and gaining confidence in taking her out in public.

Hope the bf is going well too.

Hope to see some updates on how you're both getting on soon.

Day two in the newmother house......[said in dodgy BB stylie voice]

Morning everyone Grin
I'm like the cat who's got the cream! Our daughter is an absolute dream, in more ways than one. She's so totally relaxed, easy going, compliant.....................and then my milk came in Hmm. Now she's obsessive, fractious, impatient, full on. My baby is a milk crack addict Shock But would we have her any other way......nope Grin

Our first night was a total disaster. Molly hated her moses basket, and because my milk was coming in, she fed on/off for 5 straight hours, whilst I sat sobbing about wanting to buy a dog Blush. I think in total I got 3 hours sleep, which I suppose isn't bad for a first night, but I was still wiped out from being in hospital and had hoped Molly would have considered this in her plans Blush. I got very stressed with DP, poor sod. Blooming good job he takes no notice of me anyway Hmm

Last night Molly fed and was asleep by 10.30, and didn't wake until nearly 3am, fed again and I've just woken up and her and DP are snuggled up asleep together. All I can imagine is that there was some kind of action during the night, and I was unwakable Blush.

Morning McPhee. that doesn't sound too bad last night. The first few weeks we didn't have one night the same as another. It was all a bit of a blur. How are you feeling in yourself?

ButtonBoo · 04/07/2012 13:42

Wow!! 10:30-3:00 is great! Agree with Sparklingbrook, no two nights were ever the same. I had a raging headache from lack of sleep for about 3 weeks and then, whilst the sleep didn't reLly settle into a routine until DD was about 2-3 months, I got used to no sleep. It's actually amazing how you can function each day on so little zzzz's.

I can't imagine I'll sleep 10 hours again until DD is at least 16!!!
