Following on from the Amanda Holden thread.

Some of you will have had baby, some having baby and others waiting. But on your actual due date what did you do?

I am in the latter group - still waiting, as DD wasn't born until 12 days later.

On my actual due date I was feeling pretty fed up if I am honet. Had planned on staying in. But got bored so DH and me went over to the next town where parents live. There was a big family meal at a local cavery type place so we joined in there. Stayed out latish and - gulp - yes, I had a small glass of wine I think. I loved the reaction I got when people asked me when I was due

biglips - I did it the weekend before having my c-section with dd2 and the woman serving me asked me when I was due - she was rather shocked and moved very quickly to serve me and get me out of the store - when I said 12 days ago.

Sulking because I was most certainly not giving birth!

I think I sulked for the next 4 days until she arrived.

I was a real scream to be around

Nemo1977 · 24/02/2006 10:08

Went clothes shopping as feeling big and heavy and unattractive and that this'd never end and needed to dream about getting my body back. Was months before I fitted into them mind

sniff · 24/02/2006 10:14

Ate currys, pineapple, rasberry leaf tea, went walking, had sex

first one was 10 days late 2nd one was induced at 14 days late 28 hours in labour and had to be sucked out!!!

this one is apparently a girl so you never know might be a bit better at time keeping fingers crossed

I will be trying all of the above again in May just incase I did them wrong the last two times and they do really work!!!!!

Angeliz · 24/02/2006 10:16

On my due date with dd1 i , cleaned the kitchen from top to bottom with bleache (which i rarely use), tidied took the dog for a walk and gave Birth in the evning.

On my due date with dd2 i went into hospital at 8 ish , had her by 11.30 and was back home in time for Corrie!

Angeliz · 24/02/2006 10:17

Snowing both times.

lizardqueen · 24/02/2006 10:18

What did I do?

DS1 - on his due date, sat with him in SCBU

DS2 - on his due date, went out for lunch

DS3 - on his due date, gave birth to him!

DumbledoresGirl · 24/02/2006 10:29

Ds1 - I awoke to find that my waters had broken. Dh and I were laughing all the way to the hospital, congratulating ourselves on having such a clever baby that he came on the right day. Of course, it did not proceed so smoothly. I had no contractions, was induced the next day and he was dragged from me with forceps in the early hours of the next day (so 2 days late), having been positioned back to back and unable to be born without intervention. A horribel experience.

Ds2, Dd, and Ds3 - on their due dates I was sitting around wishing they were out, feeling like the proverbial beached whale - very tired, very sore and with no will to go through labour. They were respectively 3,2, and 3 days late.

poppiesinaline · 24/02/2006 10:32

Looking after newborn - all three of mine were early. Cant imagine what it must be like to go past due date.

catj · 24/02/2006 10:34

Looking after babies!
Dd1 induced 1 week before (high BP)
Dts elective c-section 18 days before (one breech)
Hopefully this one will follow the trend and come early-due in 4 weeks

dizietsma · 24/02/2006 10:48

After 37 hours of labour I gave birth to my DD at 10am on her due date. I was pretty surprised, I kept telling myself "first babies never come on time" and DD proved me wrong!

Chandra · 24/02/2006 10:52

In labour, DS arrived on time

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 24/02/2006 10:52

Jess.... had my baby in my arms as was induced a week early.

Becky... crying like a baby because i was SO fed up, went on a mad baking frenzy and had cakes coming out of my ears. Becky was born 4 days later.

Lacrimosa · 24/02/2006 10:54

went to the fun fair and jumped up and down on the bouncy castle with ds and dsd, the attendant refused to take my money incase I tried to sue him if anything went wrong! She didnt arrive until th next afternoon!and she was fineX

alexsmum · 24/02/2006 10:55

ds1 gave birth to him
ds2 god knows-he was 10 days late so just wandered about in the scorching august heat like a beached whale, praying that something would happenSOON!!!!

FrannyandZooey · 24/02/2006 11:03

Went for a huge long walk then mooned about. I remember going to sit in the nursery which had the cot all made up ready etc. and sitting down to gaze at it all. Unfortunately, as I weighed 12 stone, when I sat on the lovely new toy box we had bought I broke the lid which sort of spoilt the moment

He never slept in the cot nor went in the nursery btw! Funny how you imagine things are going to be, and then the reality can be so different.

MissChief · 24/02/2006 11:06

walked, sweated (it was high summer, not a good look) and stomped around..met friends for coffee, had acupressure from mw to bring it on..lots of curries, rasp leaf tea..the usual..

Jasnem · 24/02/2006 19:00

DD was born on her due date. My water's broke at 9am the day before, I went shopping and then a leisurely drive to the hospital.
(Followed by 24hr labour from hell, but that is another story)

Gingerbear · 24/02/2006 19:06

waters!!! SH*T, my grammar!!!!

dejags · 24/02/2006 19:07

DS1 - made a total pig of myself on a Peking Duck take away. My waters broke at 5am the next day in spectacular fashion - poor baby was probably desparate to get away from the remnants of chinese take away.

DS2 - never made it to my due date, he was two weeks early.
