Too much red wine, lockets Blush just ignore me.

Just to resurrect this one ... I totally agree with PIP ... I have fanny envy!!! Would love to have my old one back (but not obviously, at the expense of not having DD). It just looks different!

And fransmom, I had a fenton's op 10 months after dd was born and it made ALL the difference. It is uncomfortable and sore for a while but then its all systems go iykwim Wink

rachp said: 'CS aint the easy option. Nor does it guarantee any pristine parts. Nor does it protect you from incontinence, or any of the other myths. It does give you a blinking great scar, increased risks in subsequent pregnancies, a charming flappy bit over your scar, painful long recovery, and all the rest!! '

Just my experience: I had a scheduled c/s 8 months ago and my parts are pristine, I have no problems with incontinence, my scar is tiny and an inch below the hairline and you really can't see it anymore (and I'm not a very dark haired person iykwim, lol), I certainly have no flabby bit over my scar. I was up visitng my baby 12 hours after the surgery, and I was driving, going for walks in hills and then to a friend's bbq two weeks (ok ten days) after my c/s.

My c/s was a great exprience, I felt in total control. I had no pain or fear throughout and only needed painkillers for 4 days afterwards (oh and just to rub it in I had sex the night after the BBQ - 10 days after baby was born) and it felt just like always.

I know I was lucky but I don't think my story is that unusual.

...and to share a wee secret with you, I would much rather have a big scar on my lower belly than on my sensitive bits, that thought just scares the hell out me.

Regarding Amanda Holden I think she rocks, having a baby and a successful acting career. You Go Girl !!!

Blush after i had francesca, i tore quite badly and needed loads of stitches. because i wasn't drinking enough water and i was bf, my wee was a wee bit acidic. hence, it stung a lot more than it should . still haven't heard about op

expectingsummerihope · 17/03/2006 20:42

fransmom · 21/03/2006 23:01

One of my antenatal group had a cs with her first baby because he was breach and they tried to turn him and it didn't work. She was back to normal very quickly indeed and was driving within 10 days with the doctor's blessing. She also had an elective cs with number 2 - don't know how well that one went as I have not really been in touch with her lately.

Everyone I talk to says if you have an elective cs you normally recover very quickly but if you have an emergency one it is pretty hard (not least because you've often gone through a very long labour and/or failed forceps/ventouse.

So I can understand why people would want a cs, especially if they had a traumatic time with a previous "natural" delivery.

I have to say I found neither alternative (vaginal or cs) particularly alluring when expectiung my ds - it's high time we had a zip we just open when the time is right :)

paolosgirl · 24/03/2006 16:57

4pink - I breastfed both of mine until they were 8 months old, and my boobs are still lovely and pert, thank you! You would think listening to some of the posts on here that after 2 natural births there should be nothing holding in my innards other than my knickers! Breastfeeding and vaginal deliveries have different effects in different people - as do C sections.

paolosgirl · 24/03/2006 17:00

on different

muma3 · 24/03/2006 17:26

i just dont understand how we have evolved for the world but yet we still hvaent developed bigger fannies?

maybe giving birth anyway it happens and the pain we go through is just to remind us how precious the newborns are?

from a mother who had 1 really bad natural birth and 2 lovely natural birthsWink
