I am 38+3 with DC2. Hoping for a VBAC after an EMCS for DC1 with who I got to 9cm's with.

I have had period cramps for over a week, two lots of plug coming away and last night lots of tight feelings high in my bump. The period like cramps are really painful and often are alongside sharp pains down below.

I have a week to go into labour, otherwise I am booked for a CS. I am so fed up of symptom spotting and being in this 'is it- is it not?' place. I went into labour at 38+4 with DC1.

So someone come along and tell me lie to me that todays the day. Grin

Good luck with the scans and appointments today, those that have them.

Well, I have started to balloon - fat fingers, fat cankles ankles, fat back of knees. My bump is so huge I can hardly even sit upright. And still absolutely no signs of anything happening AT ALL EVER.

Arf at the youtube video although if I tried to dance like that in heels at the moment I would end up in hospital for all the wrong reasons!

DaydreamDolly · 13/03/2012 12:03

Ooh wrote a reply and it's disappeared Sad

I hate her too Envy

And why do men say such insensitive things sometimes?!

I like your new plan a lot Midnight, hope
you feel a bit happier about it. You'll have that baby before next Tuesday or I'll eat my placenta hat Grin

DreamingOfPeace · 13/03/2012 14:15

Oh, I laughed so hard I'm not surprised I'm not in labour at you eating your placenta dolly

Anyone else see that disturbing programme a while ago...?!

DreamingOfPeace · 13/03/2012 14:20

And yes, that's a good plan midnight. I don't want inducing ever again for all those 'what if something goes wrong?' reasons but a natural labour is different, your body is ready. If ds was 8lb 13 at 38 weeks what are you expecting this baby to be?

If its any help, a friend had emcs for her first, nearly 10lb, second baby 8 lb something, at term plus a few days, spontaneous labour, vbac, episiotomy and ventouse but she preferred it to her first birth.

DaydreamDolly · 13/03/2012 14:20

Grin yep, watched it! Anyone planning on frying theirs up after the birth?!

Joygirl78 · 13/03/2012 14:58

Someone I know is planning encapsulation, to ward off pnd. Yikes.....

feekerry · 13/03/2012 15:07

hello everyone. good luck to all with appointments/tests today.
still nothing much happening here, have had a few crampy moments but they dont seem to come to anything and i think its just the baby moving tbh. some of the kicks are getting pretty sore now.
question- should i be wearing pads in the day and night now?? does anyone else? i'm worried if i wear a pad day and night i'll get thrush as i get so hot down there!! but on the other hand i sort of feel i should be waering one just in case?

Gingersnap88 · 13/03/2012 15:09

All this talk of eating placentas is making me woozy Wink

I don't really know where to ask this so I thought I'd see if any of you were going through it too: sometimes when baby moves I hear a popping or clicking noise (sounds a bit like liquid?) in my pelvis. My bump is making noise! Is it supposed to do that?!

Sorry to read that more of you are facing inductions, if it helps any I think your plan for ELCS is probably wise Moscow, considering the circumstances Smile

MidnightinMoscow · 13/03/2012 16:02

I'm back.

Had another sweep, feck me it hurt. Still 1-2 cm, long cervix etc. Head is 2/5th's engaged. Have agreed for another sweep on Friday and then if nothing happens by next Tuesday to book an ELCS for the next day. I'll be 40+4, and feel that I would have given it my all.

Dreaming, they estimate 9lb ish, although I am trying not to stress about the whole growth scan thing at the moment. We shall see...

Loving all the placenta talk. I am planning to bite the umbilical cord if possible, a la mother nature...joking, ladies, joking.

feek, I wear a pad all the time, (have done all pregnancy). You can get some very thin panty liner's which will be fine for night time as well.

Ginger I have no words for you, you are a modern maternity miracle with your musical bump. Grin

Right, am putting my feet up, sod the bloody ball.

DaydreamDolly · 13/03/2012 17:27

Hey all, sorry I lowered the tone again with the placenta eating Grin

Midnight, let's hope that sweep has encouraged something, 1-2 cms is still better than high and closed like I was for every attempted sweep last time.

Feekerry, I get a pop sometimes too, I just assume its pushing some of my organs out of the way Blush

Little bit of progress here. We did 'The sex' this morning and all day I have been having my bloody show. No cramps or anything so not getting too excited but at least there is something to report. Does anyone know if the shows bloody does that mean labour is days rather than weeks away? With DD1 I only had a clear show and that was weeks before I had her. This is definitely dark bloody mucus (sorry tmi)

DaydreamDolly · 13/03/2012 17:29

Sorry, Ginger I get the popping and Feekerry I wear a pad all the time too (or a pull up as DD refers to it when she's stalking me keeping me company in the loo)

MidnightinMoscow · 13/03/2012 17:35

With DS my show was bloody, had it on the Friday and then went into labour on the Monday night. I think blood is a good sign, as my first shows this time were just mucous but now are more bloody.

I am in agony from the sweep. Can't get comfortable and having lots of BH and back pains. Am laying in bed, pissing myself that at 20 weeks I was
Convincing myself I'd be active in early labour, blah, blah, blah.

One cramp and I've taken to my bed. I am a total lightweight.

DH informs me we are watching the merseyside derby tonight. I told him that I would withhold the sex.

He said thank the Lord after today's antics.

I bet Jayzee didn't turn Beyonce down...

fuckityfuckfuckfuck · 13/03/2012 17:38

I'm wearing a pad all the time too, due to history of gushing waters Wink God I've been uncomfortable today. Growth scan showed all was well, they gave me the option to go back next week but I declined, they've given me their direct number in case I change my mind but they all said baby is active and happy so I'm happy to leave it at that. Last night was awful, today's not been too bad but now I've got awful cramps and back ache again. I don't understand why this always starts in the evening and lasts all night. The back ache actually makes me feel sick :( Someone has to pop on here soon.

Kenobi · 13/03/2012 19:23

Had acupuncture today and am sitting here with little plasters on my 'baby come on' pressure points. Had a tiny bit of blood after the acu but don't think I'll be next.

My SiL, who was due 5 days before me, spent all pregnancy resting up as much as poss because she has an incompetent cervix. She is now 10 days overdue (oh the irony), with her cervix high and closed - having been told that she'd probably go at about 38 weeks.

She is FED UP.

DaydreamDolly · 13/03/2012 20:23

Grin Midnight it's depressing when you realise your sex life has become a series of 'mercy shags' isn't it?!
Hope the uncomfortable feeling actually gets you somewhere and isn't in vain. Have a Wine

feekerry · 13/03/2012 22:04

Ha ha. Love the term 'the sex' lol! Have just said to dp that i'm considering us doing 'the sex' dont think its that appealing to him!

Joygirl78 · 14/03/2012 05:05

Arggh. Awake since 4am. Fed up

DaydreamDolly · 14/03/2012 07:22

Sad Joy, what's going on with you today?

Joygirl78 · 14/03/2012 07:57

Nothing, and that's the problem. A bit achy, a bit nauseaus, and that is the grand total of all symptoms. Now just tired and ratty. Although I did watch homeland at 5am which was good. Given up waiting now. Going out for walk and pub lunch with friend. Over it.
How's everyone else???

feekerry · 14/03/2012 08:25

Morning everyone. Had another full nights sleep last night so have awoken to prob another day of nothingness! joy maybe things are beginning to get started???

DaydreamDolly · 14/03/2012 08:37

I was very tired and very ratty on Monday after a similar night Sunday night! Feel better today. Some more show this morning but it's no longer bloody so am guessing labour isnt imminent! Having my hair done this morning so after that I'm ready Smile
Feek you never know, sometimes there's no warning whatsoever!
Joy enjoy your day, sounds like just what you need.
Midnight how are you doing?

artifarti · 14/03/2012 08:48

Morning all. No symptoms or signs here whatsoever. I'm catching the train into London to tempt fate hehehe.

C'mon guys - with all your shows and plugs and cramps and aches, someone has got to have a baby soon...

MidnightinMoscow · 14/03/2012 09:04

Morning.

Nowt here either. Bad cramps and lots of bleeding last night, but suspect it was just the show rather than anything else. Went to bed in a filthy mood as DH insisting in watching the football despite my protests.

Enjoy the hairdressers this morning Dolly.

Oh, going into labour on the train sounds dramatic arti. Grin

Joy hope you have a nice pub lunch, and not too tired.

Kenobi how far along are you now? I think you and TheFirstMrsGClooney are the furthest along on the thread.

Hmm, I am thinking I might cancel the sweep on Friday. Honestly, I was in agony last night, and for what? I think I need to start accepting that I'll be having major abdominal surgery next week and start preparing my body for that, which means rest and chocolate/daytime TV.

OP posts:
fuckityfuckfuckfuck · 14/03/2012 10:13

Gah, what is it about early evening and nighttime that sends my body into a tiz? I ended up getting up at 3am to get lots of the dc's fleecy blankets from the airing cupboard to lie on top of, so convinced was I that my waters were about to go. The cramps, nausea and, well, upset tummy are continuing, but I get up and nothing happens. It's exhausting. In a way I do think my body's being clever (maybe) in that the pains die down in the day when I just don't have time to go into labour(!) and I do know that with ds I very much felt that when I went into labour it was on the day that I knew things were all in place, there were people on standby to have dd, and I was confident that if things happened it would all go to plan. And tbh the ideal time for me to go in would be night, the dc woudl be none the wiser, mil could just come over unnoticed and we'd be back by morning (wishful thinking?...) I just don't know how many more nights of constant cramps and feeling it's about to happen I can take. The back ache is the worst for me atm. I'd frankly like dp to take time off work and just rub it all day. I have no inclination to actually go anywhere in case things kick off while I'm out, but I have a little boy here desperate to go to the park, the shops, anywhere that isn't these 4 walls.
