I am 38+3 with DC2. Hoping for a VBAC after an EMCS for DC1 with who I got to 9cm's with.

I have had period cramps for over a week, two lots of plug coming away and last night lots of tight feelings high in my bump. The period like cramps are really painful and often are alongside sharp pains down below.

I have a week to go into labour, otherwise I am booked for a CS. I am so fed up of symptom spotting and being in this 'is it- is it not?' place. I went into labour at 38+4 with DC1.

So someone come along and tell me lie to me that todays the day. Grin

I've just had my first pot noodle in at least a month, I had a real craving for them for a few months. I am seeing this as a sign that baby wanted to fit in one last dirty snack before being born Wink It's half finished on the table now as I really cannot stand the sight of it. My back pain has come back, in waves now, I have a hot water bottle on and have mixed up a lovely oil of clary sage and lavender for dp to rub on when he finally gets home in a minute.

MrsCog · 12/03/2012 19:20

yeay fuckity - been thinking of you - sorry I left you high and dry last week!

fuckityfuckfuckfuck · 12/03/2012 19:22

I forgive you MrsCog Grin How are you getting on?

LittleHalfwit · 12/03/2012 19:29

Ladies, ladies can I bust in on your party? I am an old, old fart compared to you, but reading your posts reminds me of the very day 18 years ago when I was 40 + 9 and trying to get labour started for my DS.

Well, to fast forward over the last 18 years, things did get moving (!) and eventually my DS was sucked out of me with a ventouse (yack!)

So here we are, university places offered, and he's all growed up on the cusp of manhood (sob).

I am still making him a Star Wars birthday cake though!

Good luck to you all, may your labours be short and your babies be gorgeous!

Kenobi · 12/03/2012 19:38

thanks chaps, I keep telling myself that too... sigh...

MidnightinMoscow · 12/03/2012 19:46

Thank you Little.

Oh fuckity that sounds promising.

I am making spicy meatballs for dinner, with extra chilli for good measure. Going to do some over enthused bouncing on the ball later.

I've got the shits now. Is there any orifice that is sacred?! In a baaaad mood too. DH announced he's got the morning off to go and buy a new car (this has been in the offing so not a complete surprise) But it would b nice if he wa so effing eager to take a morning off to help me out. Men!

Couldn't eat my dinner, got heartburn and backache. What do u rekin ladies, another half can of Magners in order??!

Btw, the poor young girl in all that lIn at triage this morning was examined and found to be only 1cm Sad poor love. Was sent home sobbing Sad

DaydreamDolly · 12/03/2012 20:06

DaydreamDolly · 12/03/2012 20:06

Joygirl78 · 12/03/2012 20:37

God, back pain!!!!! Started low down, upper part of bottom, early hours of this morning. Now it's sort of mid way up my back. Sore. Don't want to relieve it as want to see if it's worsening or intensifying as that's got to be a good sign surely. Had some hefty bh today too, which is a relief after a few days of none and no other symptoms. 39 weeks on Wednesday.....

MidnightinMoscow · 12/03/2012 20:49

Nope Dolly nowhere is sacred anymore. You are at mercy of all possible body fluids for now on in. Poor girl being 1cm, how disheartening.

Oh back pain for you too Joy, you never know...

I have the worst BH's, my whole bump is rock hard and stabbing pains in my Fanjo. Can't face the ball tonight, feck it.

Gingersnap88 · 12/03/2012 20:57

Why am I STILL pregnant?!

I've eaten curry, pineapple, been for a long walk, nookie time, bouncing on the ball and I've had sooo many twinges. Argh! I want to meet my baby!

Sorry... Mini rant.. Blush

Looking forward to the next one of you to prove it can be done Wink

DreamingOfPeace · 12/03/2012 21:21

Oh man, can't stop following this thread. No chance of me going into labour, no matter that it's twins, 34+4 and no signs, bar loads of really strong BH- but i had them with dd too.

Rooting for some action for you midnight!!!

Oh, n I also found the pessary excruciating, inserted with an unfavourable cervix by a rough mw with fat fingers... I'm.ELCS not induction- but a lot of that is due to twins plus previous third degree tear. A friend was induced for big baby, drip up 10am, baby born 12 pm!!!! I'd do it for 2 hours!!! So often not so bad for second timers.... (Says she too scared too- but my fear is re tear as god knows what T2 will do)

DreamingOfPeace · 12/03/2012 21:25

Oh, aren't I nice?! What a me-me-me post...

And roller, I was an unfavourable cervix so was told pessary unlikely to work, but I wanted to try anything before The Drip... Sadly, they were right and it didn't work and neither did 12 hours on drip- agony and not even 1cm dilated . If I thought there was a good chance I'd totally go for it again

DaydreamDolly · 12/03/2012 21:42

I'm doing a labour dance for us all IT WILL WORK GIRLS IF YOU JUST BELIEEEEEEVE!!!

Actually losing the plot

DaydreamDolly · 12/03/2012 21:43

Twins DoP how amazing Smile

DreamingOfPeace · 12/03/2012 23:12

Lol dolly exactly what I thought at our 12 week scan!!

I did a labour shuffle for you all

And these babies are estimated at 4lb 10 and 4lb 8 each, (& 2 placentas/sacs). Did the earth move for anyone after my labour shuffle?!

ZhenThereWereTwo · 12/03/2012 23:21

How about for a dance to get you all going Grin

fuckityfuckfuckfuck · 13/03/2012 05:37

Oh gawd I have been up all night, have finally gotten up to give poor dp at least a shot at some rest, I've been tossing and turning and feeling very queasy. The braxton hicks have been ridiculous tonight, practically one on top of another but here I still am. And very grumpy I am too. Have had tea and toast and am now listening to the milkman trundle along the road. I just want some sleep. Scan is at 11, the first lady we saw last week was a midwife so I might ask her to do a quick internal (yeuch) to see if anything's actally happening.

MidnightinMoscow · 13/03/2012 06:36

Good luck fuckity you never know, she might have good news for you.

I didn't sleep a wink either, uncomfortable and stressing about my appointment this afternoon. What if I ask to leave the CS fOr longer, then go into labour but have problems because the baby is too big? I could never fOrgive myself if the baby had shoulder dystocia and I had made that descion. Yet at the same time coming away with an ELCS date today will be so disapointung.

Hope everyone else is ok. Sorry to be such a misery guts this morning.

Joygirl78 · 13/03/2012 06:55

Zhen- you have made my week. That tube vid is FAB

DaydreamDolly · 13/03/2012 08:28

Midnight it's rotten for you, so hard to make a decision. Just talk every worry through with your consultant today and make the decision you are most comfortable with. Is the baby measuring big on the scan or just fundal height? Your due on Friday aren't you, like me?
The risks are the same whether you go into labour naturally, or if the hospital gives you a hand in the way of breaking waters etc? But I understand you feel if you go into labour naturally it's fate and out of your hands... I don't envy your position.
Wishing you lots of luck this afternoon Thanks

MidnightinMoscow · 13/03/2012 10:37

The baby is measuring bog by scan, although DS was and he was 8lb 13oz at 38+5.

Spoke to my friend who is a MW today and decided to go with the following plan.

Will have another sweep today, and unless the Dr's advise otherwise, I'll ask to go back next Tuesday. If I have not had the baby by then, (40+4) I'll have an ELCS.

Meant to say DH showed me an round-robin email this morning from work. Woman he works with had a "Beautiful baby boy, very quick labour...6lb 7oz". She was 38 weeks.

Then DH said, "good that it was a small one, she's such a skinny little thing".

I hate her.

TheFirstMrsGClooney · 13/03/2012 11:45

Oh midnight also feel Envy at someone being early AND having a short labour! Hope it goes well for you today.

Nothing to report here, been having mild cramps for 24 hrs or so but nothing "proper". Still, it meant I could take DS1 to his ENT appt this morning... I suppose that's an upside.

Hope something happens for someone soon - surely it has to?!
