I am 38+3 with DC2. Hoping for a VBAC after an EMCS for DC1 with who I got to 9cm's with.

I have had period cramps for over a week, two lots of plug coming away and last night lots of tight feelings high in my bump. The period like cramps are really painful and often are alongside sharp pains down below.

I have a week to go into labour, otherwise I am booked for a CS. I am so fed up of symptom spotting and being in this 'is it- is it not?' place. I went into labour at 38+4 with DC1.

So someone come along and tell me lie to me that todays the day. Grin

hurrah for you stuff!

arti, I expect I'll still be here until the 22nd at any rate, as that's the day they'll section me if I don't go into labour.

You are so nearly there midnight i can feel it...

MidnightinMoscow · 10/03/2012 14:05

I do hope so.

Am in the park with DH and DS having walked for a good half mile to get here. Feels like the world is falling out of my Fanjo!

Kenobi · 10/03/2012 14:16

PS midnight, sweeps take up to 48 hours to work so tonight could really be your night.

DaydreamDolly · 10/03/2012 19:02

Do u have a gym ball to bounce on tonight midnight?
I've over done it today in the garden, back and bump are killing me Sad So now I'll be overdue and in pain Grin

MidnightinMoscow · 10/03/2012 19:17

I do Dolly, been on and off it all day. Sorry you are in pain. Warm bath and a relax tonight?

I keep getting these dreadful shooting pains, TMI - right up my fanjo. They are making me wince, feels like everything is opening up down there, but not proper contractions like I had in the early stages with DS.

Had a bit more show, so I reckon thats the sweep Kenobi.

I strongly suspect I'll be here again tonight ladies.

TheFirstMrsGClooney · 10/03/2012 19:25

Hi ladies, hope you don't mind another moaner joining.

Am 40+2 today, had sweep on Thursday followed by show, lots of strong BH which went into yesterday too. Went off to bed last night all optimistic thinking I must get some sleep while I can. Next thing I know it's this morning and - nothing, not a sausage today other than a handful of BH.

Pressure on lower pelvis is horrible, i have the strange feeling that waters could go at any minute (strange feeling = wishful thinking) and I am officially waddling now. Running about after DS1 and DS2 is not making any difference, apart from making me v grumpy as am so uncomfortable on my feet.

Come out baby I'm fed up of waiting! Argh!

fuckityfuckfuckfuck · 10/03/2012 19:30

I'm glad I'm not the only one with the horrible bulgy waters feeling. I've not had an internal so I don't know for sure, but if I'm as dilated as I was at this stage with ds then the chances are I'm about 2-3cms already. Managed a walk around the museum with the dc and dp today, but while waiting for our lunch I got the most horrible shakes in my lower legs Confused my calves wouldn't stop trembling even when I sat down. Some more show today and a lot more braxton hicks too, I'm now getting them fairly regularly, I might start timing them once dd is in bed and I can concentrate on them. I'm having the silly 'how do I know it's real thing' worries too, as I've never really had a slow build up with contractions. It's been waters going, and straight into proper whoppers both times.

Sockspence · 10/03/2012 19:36

I'll keep you all company. I'm only 36+1 Blush but I have such horrendous SPD that I'm practically counting the seconds. I was 11 days overdue with DS1 so I could be here twiddling my nips thumbs for another 5-6 weeks

Everyone I speak to, even complete strangers, like to say "gosh, you must only have a couple of days left" as I'm SO huge. Hopefully they're clairvoyant rather than just rude Grin

Am hoping for some laboury action for you lasses tonight.

DaydreamDolly · 10/03/2012 22:54

Midnight I had a bath, half a can of Magners and a bounce on my ball but am very very uncomfortable and really tired - although can see a sleepless night ahead of me - I'm good at this moaning lark aren't I! Hope things are progressing for you, is your CS booked for Monday?
Socks welcome, SPD is awful, I have been getting a bit of pain in that area so can imagine how awful it is. Hope you're not waiting too long.

DaydreamDolly · 10/03/2012 22:55

Ps I get the stabby fanjo pains too - pleasant!!

MidnightinMoscow · 11/03/2012 05:42

Morning. Feeling very despondent today. Went to bed in agony, feeling like my waters were about to burst and lots of stabbing pains. Woke to just some cramps again.

I am resigning myself to the fact that I'll be having a section. I just can't see anything else happening beyond these cramps.

Dolly I laughed at your half a can of Magners, I had a glass of strongbow last night too. (Dead classy here). I have a consultant appointment on Tuesday with view to book a section later in the week, just because I am a VBAC and the baby is predicted to be big.

So lots riding on it all really.

Hope everyone else is ok, sorry for the me,me,me post.

Midnight I feel for you I really do. But there's still time for things to kick off. No chance of calling your midwife and asking for another sweep? It's so frustrating. It does definitely sound like you're in early labour. Nature can play cruel tricks tho Sad
Uncomfortable night here but only due to hurting my back yesterday. Definitely not in labour here if that makes you feel better! Brew

MidnightinMoscow · 11/03/2012 08:01

Ah, my lovely I'd be thrilled for you if you were in labour.

No point calling my MW, my community MW is useless, she wouldn't do a sweep on me even though it was written in my notes my the consultant! I had to go to hospital to get it done.

Just had a really big show and so have been running around hoovering, washing the floor and then will insist that we all go out for a coffee and long walk this morning. Will get my eyebrows threaded, maybe that'll start it?!

OP posts:
Sockspence · 11/03/2012 08:23

ooh Midnight, that's all v encouraging. Book some cinema tickets for this evening, that'll guarantee labour by 7pm (well, it did for me last time Grin )

TheFirstMrsGClooney · 11/03/2012 09:16

Good luck midnight sounds promising.

I woke at 6am to some mild contractions which went on for a couple of hours, v irregular. Nothing since though!

About to drag DS1 out for a walk...

Hope everyone else having more progress than this!

Joygirl78 · 11/03/2012 09:25

Very long walks: check. Hot curry: check. Reflexology: check. Sex (yes, really): check. Progress? Nada, not a thing, even the bh and mild cramps have gone. Baby also no longer fully engaged, despite practically hanging out last Wednesday. Frustration? Severe. Plan for today: gardening, weeding, planting, cooking roast pork with crackling and crumble. Large glass of wine. Chasing toddler. sigh........

Gingersnap88 · 11/03/2012 09:33

Can I join in? 39+3, really uncomfortable, not sleeping, intense braxton hicks getting stronger every day, loose bowels every day for the last 10 days Sad feeling royally fed up!
Keep trying to go for walks but get such intense shooting pains in my cervix and the tops of my thighs that DH wants me to rest all the bloody time. Oh and I have a cold, how unfair is that?

Grumble grumble... (also have the fear of being induced, even though I know it's a way off yet..)

Good luck to all of you!

artifarti · 11/03/2012 09:56

Morning all. 39+1 and as usual nothing whatsoever to report except that by the end of the day I can barely walk! All these pains and other symptoms sound so promising - one of you guys must be in labour soon.

MidnightinMoscow · 11/03/2012 10:28

Yes arti I agree, someone needs to get the ball rolling don't they?!

Welcome Ginger, sorry to hear you have a cold on top of everything else. Hope it clears up soon.

Just eaten 2 strips of dairy milk, as heard a rumour that sugar rushes can helpget things going. Now, that I like the sound off.

Right, off for this walk.

OP posts:
Kenobi · 11/03/2012 14:47

midnight - they can't section you without your permission. They can break your waters and put you on a very mild syntocinon drip

(that's what QCCH will to with me if I'm dilated enough to get anything started, and like you I'm VBAC with a big baby).

Do make your consultant explore options.

Kenobi · 11/03/2012 14:48

"They can break your waters and put you on a very mild syntocinon drip" to start you off is what I should have added.

fuckityfuckfuckfuck · 11/03/2012 16:36

Nothing here either. A few cramps, it's almost a constant dull ache now tbh, but it's not unpleasant, I think I've just become used to them. My bump has never been high enough to drop, but I do think it's changed shape a bit today, the top bit is much closer to the level of my belly button now and is sticking out at a very odd angle. Am going to book in some reflexology next week, if nothing else it'll relax me. The sun is just gorgeous here today but after meeting friends this morning I've been too exhausted to enjoy it, so I'm hoping the weather stays nice tomorrow and I can have a little bit of a lie down in the fresh air. Tuesday is second growth scan day but I'm nowhere near as stressed about it as I was last week, I'm looking forward to having another look at his cute little nose :) This being my third, I really feel like this pregnancy has almost passed me by, I've hardly registered that there'll actually be a baby here in a few weeks and the thought's really started to excite me now. I think that's what'll get me through this waiting and the labour. I really can't wait to actually hold him.

ZhenThereWereTwo · 11/03/2012 16:49

Hi Moscow and ladies

You know that often babies they say are measuring big turn out to be perfectly average in size.

Re: sweeps you can request another midwife, even a hospital midwife appointment for a sweep if that is what you want.

You can refuse c-section, I wouldn't discuss induction or c-section with my recent VBAC attempt until 42 weeks as anything before that not overdue.

You can have mild syntocinon drip as Kenobi says, I was with QCCH too and that was an option on the table for me.

Stabby pains and all your other symptoms sounds like it will happen soon, I had five days of those symptoms plus DD2's head grinding downwards then went into labour at 39+3.

Sending new baby vibes your way in the hope that it sets you off :)

TheFirstMrsGClooney · 11/03/2012 19:59

Still nothing to report here...

Managed to get out for a long walk (to get an ice cream with the DCs, lovely weather here) which kicked off some pains. Thought "yessssssss" but now they've tailed off - again.

Bouncing on the gym ball now but I don't hold out much hope for tonight.

It's not like I'd be missing good telly either, baby, I really wouldn't mind hospital tonight!

Hope the rest of you are remaining sane. Or saner than me anyway Grin.

TheFirstMrsGClooney · 11/03/2012 20:00

And DH just came in, saw me on the gym ball, and said he thought I was sitting on DS2's potty....!
