I am 38+3 with DC2. Hoping for a VBAC after an EMCS for DC1 with who I got to 9cm's with.

I have had period cramps for over a week, two lots of plug coming away and last night lots of tight feelings high in my bump. The period like cramps are really painful and often are alongside sharp pains down below.

I have a week to go into labour, otherwise I am booked for a CS. I am so fed up of symptom spotting and being in this 'is it- is it not?' place. I went into labour at 38+4 with DC1.

So someone come along and tell me lie to me that todays the day. Grin

Fab news midnight lets hope they come thick and fast now! kenobi, think you and bertie are the furthest along so suppose its only fair your next :-) joy I had a hissy fit about this yesterday. Unfortunately I ended up being quite rude to the people who text and just replied- no, as I said to you the other day I will text when baby is here- it was the least rude thing I could think to say at the time!

Kenobi · 21/03/2012 15:38

How about "yes, and I've told everyone except YOU".

I am in a delightful mood today.

probably "Assume I'm pregnant unless you hear otherwise" is still too rude?

Bertiebutterfly · 21/03/2012 15:43

Congratulations Midnight - well done!

Kenobi - shall we flip a coin to see who's going to be first? Grin

DaydreamDolly · 21/03/2012 15:59

I have updated my FB status to say 'Daydream is still pregnant' problem is, everyone is commenting with fucking stupid helpful bloody hints to induce labour. Morons. Grin
I am going to stop telling people I am overdue when they ask how long I have left as in every shop I go into someone asks and when I tell them I was due last week they look horrified as if I'm some sort of freak. I might start saying I have another 3 months left that'll shut em up Grin
DH suggested a filthy response to anyone who suggested walks/curry/bumpy car ride but I can't possibly divulge what he thinks I should reply Blush
DD at my sisters for the afternoon so I'm on the ball which clearly does fuck all eating cake.

feekerry · 21/03/2012 16:18

ha ha!! love that first suggestion kenobi- might try that one out on the next unsuspecting soul who texts me!!

Joygirl78 · 21/03/2012 16:20

I am also eating cake. It's good.
I wrote: "Joygirl has no news to tell and will Nit be engaging in any further Conversations on Facebook or on text" and 8 people have already left comments. ARGH.
Have ignored the texts.

Sockspence · 21/03/2012 17:30

My mate posted this link when overdue.. haveyouhadthatbabyyet.com/

Grin
Flisspaps · 21/03/2012 17:39

Sockspence I used that, and send the link to all of my friends once they reach their EDD Grin

The thing is, people ask to be kind and thoughtful but in fact make you stabby and murderous, but it would be nice if they engaged a bit of common sense and thought 'hmm, if X had had the baby then I'd have heard by now', not 'I wonder if X has secretly had the baby and is waiting for me to ask'

The other thing you can do when asked if there's "any news?" is to either turn over to the news channel (if you're on the phone) and recite anything from the ticker along the bottom of the screen, or send people links to news stories if they ask by phone or text Wink

DaydreamDolly · 21/03/2012 18:06

Socks LOVING that link! Have posted it to my FB status, and has given me a right laugh! Grin

Kenobi · 21/03/2012 18:06

Ha ha HA!

Kenobi · 21/03/2012 18:08

me too dolly Grin

thegauntlet · 21/03/2012 18:15

hi folks. Am in labour! contracting 3 mins 40 apart... started at 430ish, tens machine a go-go and pool nearly full. Midwives coming, DD1 about to go in the bath... exciting times. Will let you know.

Joygirl78 · 21/03/2012 18:43

gauntlet go go go......

Right, off to eat Thai meal with dh. Hoping this will have same effect as curry - well it's chilli isn't it?????

Saw mw. From feel she reckons baby is about 8.5lbs, but certainly not nearer 10lb at this stage. I won't get a sweep until 41 w which is a full week away

fuckityfuckfuckfuck · 21/03/2012 18:43

Ooo gauntlet good luck :) I'm feeling a bit hopeful here too but we'll see how the night goes. Get in that pool girl!

DreamingOfPeace · 21/03/2012 18:48

Oooh, gauntlet, how exciting!!!! You were clearly not exaggerating about the mahoosive show :-)

Tbh I thought 'assume I'm still pregnant until you hear otherwise' was polite compared to what you could come up with... If I was technically better with my phone I'd do the news links to 'any news?' texts. Grin . I haven't had quite the same comments as everyone tells me 'twins come early' but if anyone else says, looking at me and dd permanently perched on my bump 'so she's only 18 months? Oh, you will have your hands full, rather you than me' then I may quite possibly resort to physical violence....

Will go and check that link ASAP. Have just finished my second creme egg of the day. That's all my news

Kenobi · 21/03/2012 19:49

Bravo gauntlet! Grin Thanks

DaydreamDolly · 21/03/2012 19:50

Good luck Gauntlet! A home birth? Fabulous, we expect live updates in that case please!
Fuckity good luck to you too!
Nothing from me here, resigned to it now! Stoopid body of mine Sad

DaydreamDolly · 21/03/2012 19:51

Grin Kenobi think it'll be me and you left with the tumbleweed soon! Wine

feekerry · 21/03/2012 20:48

Whoop whoop gauntlet and a home birth too! Very jealous! dolly dont worry. I shall be here too till the bitter end. Cant believe i'm about to watch yet another one born every minute. . . Honestly thought this time last week that by the time one born every min was on again i'd have had my baby. Sigh.

DaydreamDolly · 21/03/2012 20:54

Me too Feek! I'm actually considering not watching it I'm in that much of a grump Grin

DaydreamDolly · 21/03/2012 21:32

Ok, watching it and thinking, rather late than early hey? Sad Tiny little thing

Gingersnap88 · 21/03/2012 21:42

Am in bits watching One Born Every Minute at the teeny 30 week baby, that was so nearly us Sad so brave, they're coping so well!
Keep thinking "bugger, that'll be me next week for sure" currently at 40+5..

thegauntlet · 21/03/2012 22:02

first of the 'live updates then' right, between contractions, 3 mins apart 50 seconds ish, cant talk thru them, mooing like a cow and trying not to hold my breath. Tens on 3 constant boost.. have just watched BFGWeddings and husband has gone out to get me a mcdonalds milkshake ( i didnt eat tea and I am so hot- it will probably all get chucked up anyway- but i figure it is my last chance before I probably shouldnt add to my thunder thighs anymore...)

Have had an assessmentat 7pm 2-3 cms cervix soft and very thin, less than 1cm thick; going to be calling in the big guns when we call the midwives back the community cover is off sick tonight, so we have to get someone from the birthing centre- I know; they have a duty of care to come out to us; but it is so annoying to have to assert our rights at this stage when it isnt my problem that they dont have enough bloody staff.

Anyone got any tips on when I should get in the pool? I would also appreciate advice on when to call the midwife back ( presuming it is going to take 5 mins travel and a bit for them to get out of the birth centre.

I will let you know-- but wont guarentee any further updates lol! It has taken me about 15 minutes to write this with frequent breaks!

Flisspaps · 21/03/2012 22:23

If you want to get in the pool, get in. If things slow down then you just get out Smile

Lemele · 21/03/2012 22:46

Congrats, midnight! Grin
and go go gauntlet.. :)

I'm no further, still getting pains although they seem to have progressed into mostly constant backache and tightenings instead of what felt like 'proper' contractions...not that I really have any idea. Feels like the lower twin is really trying to push its way out but as I say I can't really tell what's what.

Also my sweep failed today, midwife couldn't get her finger in the cervix properly, she said it was very soft but although the outer part was open the inner part was closed..?! Whatever that means. Anyway am now booked for induction on mon which is the latest they wanted me to go; however the induction is 'going against drs advice' and because my consultant isn't actually there on monday, if the one on call on the day doesn't want to do an induction, I won't get one... I mean, just grrf!!

Mostly just grrf at my body though, it's obviously trying very hard to go into labour, just needs to bloomin HURRY UP.
