G&A is awesome. You have to try it. The only time it'll be practically pushed on you is in labour - I'd do it again for that and demand it straight away rather than waiting til transition to be offered it!

gas and air, gas and air, gas and air.... i am sitting on my sofa with my week old dd2 snoozing in my arms: it hurts like a fucker, getting them out, but you can do it, and seriously, it's worth the hassle

I would love to have constant access to gas and air. Especially when dd3 is practising her violin...

Nickel, hope dh is playing some lovely soothing music for you one handed, whilst holding your hand.

Willing you on in every possible way along with all of MN.

Have left OH to sort out baby's bedroom, it only needs to be sorted by the end of today relatively soon! Will have to bob off to pack hospital bag, but will keep coming back.

Hope the choice of music has improved!

Ohhh gas and air is lush, if only to bite down on the mouthpiece when contracting well

Friend 1 here: as of 5 mins ago Nickel's a lovely 8cm and the next shift of MW has arrived. She's still coping with TENS only and doing ever so well. Here's hoping for an 11/12/11 baby.

Nope HighHeidYin, would have loved to but ended up with EMCS, have researched fully as am expecting DD2 in Feb and was looking into my VBAC options.

Right have plaited DD's hair and peeled veg, what else can I do to distract myself?

So exciting! I have 3 month old DS breastfeeding hungrily and I am glued to my laptop screen!

Am also feeling very very broody. (again)

This progress is top-notch. I am three hours ahead of you lot and I was due to be in bed by the time your 9pm comes, so I am very happy at the rate of progress.

Zhen - I had an HBAC 7 months ago. Make sure you get on the Yahoo VBAC/HBAC group for advice.

At the start of this thread I was all 'I want to go through this again, so exciting' - now I'm more 'oh, it hurts, maybe not!'

Not too much longer Nickel, keep going with the TENS, remember G&A is there for you too :)

I reckon she will whizz through the next 2cm and have a baby in the next hour the rate she's going!

Hope it will be possible for you next time round zhen.

You realise nickel has set a precedent and we will be expecting the same continuous live birth reporting from you too?
