Think I may have my phone with me during the carol service and check this thread every now and again Grin

madangelhairday · 11/12/2011 17:18

8cm? wow! Oooh you'll have a lovely snuggly snuffly warm newborn soon! I predict in the next hour at this rate. Cos my predictions are proven, don't you know.

You're doing so well lady. Yay!

nickelbabe · 11/12/2011 17:18

Ian's now tinkling Nickel's ivories with Fernando Xmas Grin

8cm is definitely time to crack open the gas and air... i was 8cm when we got to the hospital and dd2 was with us wthin the hour.

HighHeidYin · 11/12/2011 17:20

It was him tinkling with her ivories which got her into this position!

How lovely to have live music at your birth!

lostinwales · 11/12/2011 17:22

I haven't got a thing done all day, I've had to pretend to be on an online game to DH because if I explained I had been glued to the pregnancy of a woman I'd never met and now couldn't spend any time with the DS' because I was waiting for her's to emerge I think he'd have me taken away Blush C'mon nickel, the most extraordinary moment of your life is happening now and we are all holding your hand (or keeping well out of the way and not even breathing loudly if that is what you need Grin)

ASuitableGirl · 11/12/2011 17:23

What happens if we get to 1000 posts again? Friend 1 you will have to start a new thread please :) if we get that far.

SantasNutellaFairy · 11/12/2011 17:24

Perhaps he can have a bash at the Hallelujah Chorus for the actual arrival?Grin

lostinwales · 11/12/2011 17:24

I think I'm a little bit in love with nickel's DH now too. The image of him there serenading her on the piano brought tears to my eyes. Go nickel's DH too

TheOriginalFAB · 11/12/2011 17:26

ISBN will be here in time to watch strictly and xfactor Grin.

HighHeidYin · 11/12/2011 17:27

So jealous of nickels dh being so lovely at the birth.

My dh spent most of the time sitting in the hospital cafe and avoiding looking at anything too graphic Hmm

This baby is going to be so looked after and loved.

McPhee · 11/12/2011 17:27

I'd better not mention live music to my partner or he'll be playing his guitar whilst I give birth. And trust me, no one needs that!!

andSothisisChristmasme · 11/12/2011 17:29

Oh wow 8cm, almost there! And having a newborn at Christmas is just so magical, I've come over all teary remembering DD's first Christmas, she was 3 weeks old and totally unimpressed by it all Grin

thanksamillion · 11/12/2011 17:30

I'm loving the idea that maternity wards up and down the country are going to be full of DHs desperately serenading their birthing wives as a result of this thread Grin. Since DH can only just manage a triangle it's probably a good job we're not planning any more Hmm

Bloody ungrateful they can be at times Xmas Grin

ZhenTheHallsWithBoughsOfHolly · 11/12/2011 17:35

Fernando! Oh dear better practise my pelvic floor exercises me thinks, I laughed so hard that made me dribble Grin Nickel's DH sounds lovely :)

mumatron · 11/12/2011 17:35

This brings back so many memories for me. My ds was born on 12/12/00 and we had a lovely first christmas snuggled up with him.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 11/12/2011 17:36

Dinner is nearly ready so either do it now or wait about half an hour?

Ta

HighHeidYin · 11/12/2011 17:36

I think I should be allowed to change back to my original time of 7.10pm...

No way is this baby going to remain inside until 9pm!

Pantofino · 11/12/2011 17:36

I can't believe that I feel impossibly Envy at her being in labour. I want a baby!!!!

My DH said it was because he'd been playing with his organ

Nickle we're still with you, 8cm is nearly there - keep breathing, try and relax and when the midwife says push pretend you're having a very large poo Grin

andSothisisChristmasme · 11/12/2011 17:44

RockStock DD is far more impressed this year (she's 4).

Mostly by the fact that I have Father Christmas on speed dial Wink

Pantofino I am also Xmas Envy It will pass or DP may well run away Xmas Grin

TheOldestCat · 11/12/2011 17:44

Oh goodness, this is so exciting! Hope all's going well.
