How come I can conceive and carry through a pregnancy but I can't finish one?

Are you being very active Nickel? I've spent the afternoon on the sofa , and feel guilty because I think I should be running up and down the stairs or going out for a long hike .

Northernlurker · 06/12/2011 16:41

Well if you're going to reject perfectly sound suggestions I'm afraid you will indeed have to stay pg FOR EVER

Or you could try going for a bracing 6 mile walk?

CointreauVersial · 06/12/2011 16:43

What's your Christmas name, Nickelbabe? I can only think of SaintNickelbabe.

The sun sets on another day of pregnancy.......Wink

FourThousandHoles · 06/12/2011 16:44

Aww nicklebabe (and others)

I have amused myself this afternoon by re-reading old threads from way back in the day when I went overdue (+9) with my most recent one, who is now 2.2.

I had forgotten exactly how irritating I must have been, but it was lovely to see all the messages of support again. Am thinking of printing a couple of the threads off :)

nickelbabe · 06/12/2011 16:45

I don't have time to relax and do nothing.
If i think i've got a few spare moments, i get a customer who wants me to show them where something is (so I pop out from behind the till and they start their barrage of when's the baby due interrogations Hmm )

I'm too tired to do 6 mile walks - the walk to work is enough!

It's the WI carol service tomorrow - I was planning to have the baby with me, because I can't close the shop until I get my cover, which can't come until the baby comes.
That means I have to close the shop to go to the carol service, otherwise I can't go (i'm supposed to be in the choir)
It'll only be about an hour.

Nickel been following your epic saga Wink

DD arrived last year 40+6, I booked a massage for the following day, spent the afternoon watching the final season if ER with my good friends Ben & Jerry watching the snow coming down. Labour started that night, with the deepest snow we had seen in the area for years. Typical! However labour was 4 hours from 1st contraction, so made up for the wait.

Sending good hippy type vibes for your natural birth plan. Do what feels best. I howled like a wolef! Blush

HugosGoatee · 06/12/2011 17:01

Will the midwives start putting pressure on you for sweeps and induction and things soon nickel?

kellestar · 06/12/2011 17:02

Oh.. How about NickelDonkeyOnADustyRoad

nickelbabe · 06/12/2011 17:02

Sod's law is going to make me go into labour tomorrow morning, isn't it?
so that there's no way i can go to the carol service.

Do you know anyone with a trampoline?

I did lots of squatting with DS but it did fuck all. Supposed to open up the pelvis or something-worth a try?

How about NickelbabyJesus or NickelDonkey. Lickle baybee Jesus is quite the topic of conversation and endless out of tune singing atm here.

Matronalia · 06/12/2011 17:09

Ha crosspost on the donkey

Mum1369 · 06/12/2011 17:10

At this rate it will be nickeldonkeycarrybabyeachandeverynight....
'bring on this labour please, nickel babe, nickel babe..'
Etc

usingapseudonym · 06/12/2011 17:11

I love trampolining! I don't know anyone with one though. The local farm has a very bumpy tractor ride... but they do refuse to let pregnant women on it!

I'm beginning to think I might actually get to the toddler group Christmas party on thursday...!! I'd really hoped to be sat in the corner with a baby while the rest of them entertained my toddler.

nickelbabe · 06/12/2011 17:12

i was nickelbabyjesus the first year.

i told you, i will be nickeltownofbethlehem as soon as the baby is born.

(see, it knows i've had that name planned for a year, it's going to make sure i can't use it! Shock )

Hi Nickel - another lurker:)

I reckon it'll be right in the middle of the carol service. Certainly be memorable...

Good luck x
