Right, night shift is here!
Where's that wine?

Listen here, nickelbaby. It's time to come out. Now. Thank you.

Slightlytinsellyexpat · 08/12/2011 01:08

I'll join you on the night shift,Jacksmania though I'm going out soon for a short while.

I very nearly put "Keep an eye on Nickelbabe" on today's to-do list!

Hope Nickel is sleeping like a baby. Hope ISBN is revving up for an appearance today.

muppetthecow · 08/12/2011 01:14

Sat here with a screaming DS hoping desperately that nickel would be on the go - after seven hours of hysterical 8-day-old I could do with some good news!

Come on ISBN!

usingapseudonym · 08/12/2011 03:03

3am here and expecting to see nickel! No baby here just wide awake. Grr! Hoping things are happening for you nickel.

Slightlytinsellyexpat · 08/12/2011 03:15

You're in the same boat, aren't you, Usingapseudonym? Thinking of you too, and hoping it all kicks off soon. I think 4am is a likely time.........

usingapseudonym · 08/12/2011 03:31

4am sounds good to me :-) as does any time before 9am consultant appointment !

girlsyearapart · 08/12/2011 03:57

Marking my place..

peggyblackett · 08/12/2011 05:06

Come on ISBN!

crabb · 08/12/2011 05:25

What does ISBN stand for?

ExquisiteChristmasCake · 08/12/2011 05:27
FellatioNelson · 08/12/2011 05:34

ISBN is the specific code number that all books are given to be able to accurately identify them. Not sure what it actually stands for though.

Individual something or other Book Number?

FellatioNelson · 08/12/2011 05:36

In my head now, Nickel's baby is ISBN, pronounced Isben, and I really like it for a boy or a girl! It sounds vaguely Scandinavian.

JKSLtd · 08/12/2011 05:41

Checking in for another day of nickelbaby-cheering & pom-pom waving :)

Pseudo - hope being awake in the early hours was a good sign?

Akiram · 08/12/2011 06:06

Anything happening Nickel ?
Apparently ISBN stands for International Standard Book Number.
I agree Fellatio Isben is now starting to sound like a good name for a baby Grin

Jacksmania · 08/12/2011 06:13

Hmm. So now we know what it stands for, but what does it mean to NB? Really curious :)

NorksAreMessy · 08/12/2011 06:14

Good morning fellow nickel - Ologists
hope you had a restful-as-possible night and are ready for a solid day's work today Grin

i LOVE the idea of a baby in a bookshop. A little book-nest in amongst the cloth and cot books. Little book-print rattles and book themed growbags, a bookmark mobile above the reference-book cot. That would make quite a sweet book in itself..'the Baby in the Bookshop'

Clearly when ISBN is a toddler s/he will be the very best read toddler in Kent, and will be able to beat all 'what colour reading scheme books is your child on' conversations when you start school.
Also there will be ample opportunities for a 'reading date'! Hmm

Akiram · 08/12/2011 06:20

Jacksmania Because Nickel owns a bookshop and loves books?
Nickel You will always know if a MNer comes to your shop because they won't ask how your baby is, they will ask how little Isben is getting on!

NorksAreMessy · 08/12/2011 06:28

akiram we won't need to ask, because ISBN will be in the shop, offering advice on books about pink camels or talking vegetables, and running a little baby-book club for fellow toddlers.

Akiram · 08/12/2011 06:34

Norks Grin
I really want to visit Nickels shop now. Or should I say once the baby is born so I can meet him/her who caused such a kerfuffle though if nickel had taken my advice of having more sex we would probably be sitting here welcoming her new arrival Grin

Slightlytinsellyexpat · 08/12/2011 06:56

Yep, next time I'm back in the UK I want to make a side trip to Sittingbourne, even though my house is in Nottinghamshire. PS I think sex and a curry is the way to go too. Not guaranteed but worth a shot.

PestoFestivio · 08/12/2011 07:40

Morning all! Just checking in on this wild & blustery day.

Any news re: Isbn Nickel?

Knotty has just texted me, her laptop's just died, so she can't MN today and wanted me to to you and wish you all the best and let you know that she's thinking of you Xmas Smile

Sparklingbaubles · 08/12/2011 07:42

Morning. Tea and toast anyone? again

PestoFestivio · 08/12/2011 07:44
Brew

Cheers! Don't mind if i do Xmas Smile

Sparklingbaubles · 08/12/2011 07:47

I have chocolate brioche too. Smile. Hope you are ok Nickel.

nickelbabe · 08/12/2011 07:48

awww, what lovely posts to wake up to Grin
That's made me smile. :)
I'm noe thoroughly looking forward to Isbn being my little Bookworm in the shop

Can't Knotty check in on me from her mobile?

an baby pseu? you came on then went quiet!
expat - my parents live in Nottm, so you never know....

Maybe i will have to force DH to have sex again (he really wasn't keen!)

No movements in the night, other than desperately needing a poo every hour and then only farting when I got there (that's the effects of a curry, ladies!)
I'm sitting here with a big fat arse sticking out of my belly, so i don't think Isbn is in any hurry.

Although, I have been thinking. DH's day off is tomorrow, and my friend is catchign the train tomorrow afternoon - she decided that she should definitely come then, because something is going to be happening, even if no baby (monitoring days etc). So there's every chanc I could take one of those days where I sit around doing nothing. I'm not entirely sure what one does on those days, but it might hurry Isbn along a bit (and if it works, then surely the routine is that I will spend the day desperately cleaning the house and then going into labour before teatime??)
