there.
part 2 of the "not-live-birth-thread"

How come I can conceive and carry through a pregnancy but I can't finish one?

Yes please Sparkling. Don't think I'll be getting any more sleep. DS had a rough night, think I can feel a tooth coming through, he's only 14 weeks!
Any jam?

usingapseudonym · 07/12/2011 07:06

I am at that desperate to try anything stage. Apparently you do 15mins either side twice. I do have crampy feelings now but doubt it means anything!

usingapseudonym · 07/12/2011 07:07

Tea and toast would be lovely. My toddler has just woken me up. Zzz

OiMistletoe · 07/12/2011 07:11

Do you think the snacks are contributing to isbn wanting to stay put?
Can we starve them out?
I wish I had the resolve! (on Dec thread, 40+5) ...pass me the non-veggie ones.

OiMistletoe · 07/12/2011 07:17

(whoops! On iPhone, only saw first bit of thread, now posted and it's updated. Silly me. 1hr Nipple tweaking? Ouch.)

And it's hello from me too Jacksmania-welcome back! I've been TRYING to study for this blimming exam which starts in approx 8 hrs time BUT all the excitement and shenanigans on THIS thread are proving too great a temptation...it's all v addictive Grin

Eclairwaldorf · 07/12/2011 07:30

Have been lurking too and have given in to finally join in and say 'no baby yet?!' Bless you nickel, hope you are feeling ok but just wanted to point out that 13.12.11 would be a cool date of birth Grin although you might think Sad at that!!

DutchOma · 07/12/2011 07:35

Non inclusion of middle name is the norm in the NHS. I am called by my middle name, so give that automatically when asked. Unfortunately they got hold of my first name as well and so I'm always looking round when Mrs P rather than E Dutchoma is called and have to enlighten them that they are looking for the wrong first name in their records. I just don't like my first name although people tell me it's 'very pretty'.

Sparklingbaubles · 07/12/2011 07:47

Right, here's a pot of tea, toast (in toast rack-posh!) butter curls and blackcurrant or raspberry leaf jam. Enjoy!

CuriosityCola · 07/12/2011 08:02

Morning, I have heard being around a baby can help bring on labour. Want a loan of a demanding gorgeous 14 week old?

weevilswobble · 07/12/2011 08:03

Is that the sound of snoring coming from Nickles bed? Not a peep since 3am........

ExquisiteChristmasCake · 07/12/2011 08:18

Marking my place!!

Alouisee · 07/12/2011 08:19

I hope it is snoring. With the insomnia, still being at work and very busy on Sundays anyone would need a rest but to be over 40 weeks and doing all that is making me want to be very bossy and o to bed for a couple of days.

Alouisee · 07/12/2011 08:19

*tell her to go to bed

PestoFestivio · 07/12/2011 08:20

Just wanted to add my encouragement. I have a feeling Isbn is going to emerge today Xmas Smile

nickelbabe · 07/12/2011 09:11

pseu talkin
sounds l,ike we're all in the same blimmin' boat!
I could have written both of your posts.

so, guess what? Hmm
nothing's happening! (I'm tempted to make that phrase a keyboard shortcut, i've said it so often!)

the horrid period aches lasted most of the night, then died off.
and all i've got now is a big, bulky Isbn trying to contort into the most uncomfortable positions. I'm sure I jsut had feet under the ribcage, and now it feels like it's arse right out of my belly.

Morning everyone! Grin

Oh Nickel. Today is the day. Come on little babyNickel Smile Hope you managed to get some sleep eventually.

Youtalkin have you started that irritating first bit of labour? I feel like i have been doing that for about 2 weeks! Is annoying.

I go back to see another consultant today, didn't like the Reg is saw on Monday. I am NOT waiting till Monday to be induced with this enormo baby. Fingers crossed he does something soooooon. I am a 40+7 today. Gah!

nickelbabe · 07/12/2011 09:13

RnB - that's awful.
How on earth does that even happen?
(maybe she was going to be another couple of weeks, and was packing up stores of fluid ready for it! Wink)

CaptainSexypantsMcFantastic · 07/12/2011 09:13

I woke up last night from a lovely dream (yes, I really have become obsessed with you actually having this baby) that I got up for the loo, checked this thread to find you'd had a rather beautiful baby girl. You got your homebirth, posted pictures and everything looked blissful. I hope that's a sign.....

If you're not busy having ISBN today it would be lovely if you could hang on till tomorrow. It's my birthday and I've just come down with a nasty case of tonsilitis the day before. (Tries not to breathe on your thread). A baby would really cheer me up :o

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 07/12/2011 09:14

Come on girl!

nickelbabe · 07/12/2011 09:19

thanks alouise
I think i'd be going crazy if i were at home doing nothing (and probably thinking what a bloomin' waste of maternity leave! Grin])

I have lots of baby visitors in my shop. I have a friend who's baby was born 6 weeks ago (he's sooooo gorgeous) and she came in yesterday. I offered to steal him from her. (she nearly let me, too! Grin )
all it serves to do is make me very jealous, but Isbn, being its dad' child doesn't do jealousy, so not a peep!

g&t - exactly what i've been doing for 2 weeks - it feels so imminent, but so elusive!

OP posts:
nickelbabe · 07/12/2011 09:20

aw, capt what a lovely dream :)
(didn't come true last ngiht, though, but maybe later!)

God, if I do close the shop to do this WI carol service, I'm going to have 200 old (and not so old) women poring over me wondering why this baby hasn't come yet.
Oh dear.

OP posts:
largeginandtonic · 07/12/2011 09:23

Imminent but elusive. That just sums it up perfectly.

Capn that was a splendid dream! Wouldn't that be amazing Nickel? A lovely homebirth and gorgeous baby snuggling up to you. Awwwww. It MUST happen.

CaptainSexypantsMcFantastic · 07/12/2011 09:31

It was so realistic too! It was only when I woke up straight away from it and realised I still had to go to the loo that I twigged it must have been a dream. Still a sign of things to come hopefully!

You do realise if you do go to this carol service you will be pawed at by all the old ladies but if you don't go they will all assume you're in labour or you've had it already and haven't told them. They'll arrive en masse at your door (think Father Ted's 'Night of the Nearly Dead')
