I am 38+5 today. And I am so bloody FED UP of being pregnant now!

Can't sleep during the night, so end up sleeping during the day which then perpetuates the no sleeping at night; have 2 two year olds to look after as well which is REALLY difficult (thankfully in nursery 3 days a week); constantly up and down for a wee; standing up makes me nauseous and/or faint so can't really go anywhere or do anything.....

ARGH! I haven't any problems really, just getting to point now where I really really really want my baby, he's kicking me a lot to let me know he is there but this is making me nauseous as well :(

Oh well, I'll just go and chop some more pineapple and drink my raspberry leaf tea - OH should be home soon, I don't think he's ever felt so lucky! Grin Hoping I don't go too much further - was induced at 36 weeks with the boys so have no idea what to expect!

I have back ache and am unusually grumpy...........anyone think that could be a sign? I am taking everything a sign

Merlioness I am right with you on the waiting for something that you have no idea what it feels like to kickstart..........and I too am a huge control freak. This is not easy :)

voodoomunkee · 07/11/2011 15:58

Well am going to have to stop falling asleep! Sat down at 1.15 woke up at 3.15. Yesterday and Saturday much the same!
Have got a pain on 1 side. Very crampy type pain.
I can't really remember what am looking for. I seem to remember it being pain rather than crampy if that makes sense. Tried the mw and got no response and she seems to work school hours so not going to try again til tomorrow.

cerealqueen · 07/11/2011 22:53

Hello all
If I post on here, then it means that something will happen soon as I can never stay on any regular update thread for long (eg antenatal threads) as I can't keep up!

41+2. Huge, backache, 3yr old. Agghhhhh!
I've had accupuncture twice , he said both times (Fri night and sat night) it could happen tonight. It hasn't. I had a sweep yesterday - bishops score of 4. MW said it was very good, looked it up on internet, er, no it isn't.

DD was 2 weeks late. I've not had so much as a twinge. Another sweep tomorrow. I'll have a third on Thursday if I can. I didn't have a great birth with DD so don't want to be induced Sad.

I feel like I've been pregnant forever and on occasion forget i have to give birth very soon!

banana87 · 07/11/2011 23:06

cereal I hear you with the not wanting to be induced! I'm due to be induced Friday. I've pretty much given up hope its going to happen on its own. The one thing I will say is that with the Bishop score, you can add another point for every vaginal birth you've had. So a 5, which is quite good, especially as its your second baby and apparently the uterus has a memory Grin. Good luck!!

localcrackpot · 08/11/2011 00:37

Hello all,
I'm 40+5, booked for a sweep on Thursday. I was SO sure the baby would be early :( she's wriggling loads, which is good, but contractions seem to have given up. Why?! Arg. Can't even sit up properly now, I have to lean back so much and I'm genuinely afraid my stretch marks will split through and my innards will fall put .
I don't want to be induced, I've bought a birth pool and tens machine and we're all set for a home birth ( I really don't like hospitals at all)....

It's a bastard, isn't it? Sending you all positive vibes for labour.

voodoomunkee · 08/11/2011 09:14

Due date today. Sob. How do people get so many sweeps? I swear my ms hates me! I have to cancel tomorrow's just in case as my dd is 11 on thurs. I can only see my mw on a weds. :(
Very very uncomfortable. Backache and tight bump and kept awake a lot last night by painful braxton hicks which don't stay!
Good to know that am not the only one who is as sick as a chip though!

pecanpie · 08/11/2011 09:21

38+2 today and just seen this thread. Just fed up of being pregnant right now. Could do without all of the complications of labour - working out what to do with DDs if things happen before family are due to arrive, making sure I get an antibiotics IV for Group B strep and other bits, but can't wait to have a baby to show for all of the physical strain right now. Am also emotionally swinging between remembering how bearable and textbook DD2's arrival was and panicking that things could be painful and go horribly wrong - just want to get it over and done with!

catgirl1976 · 08/11/2011 11:57

39 weeks today. NO sign :(

Sweep booked for a week today...........fingers crossed he comes before then! Hope you are all hanging in there :)

cookie9 · 08/11/2011 18:37

Had sweep today and cramping getting stronger and regular so this could be it. Dh due home at 8 so looking forward to that as waiting until he is home before having bath. Tens machine on and cracking up the volume on it!

Merlioness · 09/11/2011 00:58

Good luck cookie! Hope it has developed into more!

Katiebeau · 09/11/2011 10:18

Good luck Cookie!

[http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/childbirth/1338881-For-anyone-who-is-overdue-and-needs-something-to-make-them-smile anyone want to try this?]]

Merlioness · 10/11/2011 02:00

Nope, definitely not :o A) I can't dance and B) I can't even walk properly lately without creaking, so no energetic jumping around for me. And not sure it would work either way. Took her 48 hours to go into labour where she was already 40+4 to begin with :(

cerealqueen · 10/11/2011 21:16

Hello All
I don't know what worked, the sweep or the accupuncture (both?) but Tuesday morning had a tricking of waters and at MW appointment in the afternoon told to go to hospital to confirm my waters had broken. Dropped DD at a friend's and then as soon as I was on my way to the hospital, contractions started. Hospital suggested we go home, which we didn't as was contracting every three minutes for 40 seconds by then - didn't fancy that in the car for an hour round trip!

We hung around hospital, had some hospital food/fuel and got to labour ward about 8pm where my waters gushed.

I had a cut, am enema and because there was meconium in my waters, had to be continually monitored Sad but it now it doesn't matter because

DD2 at 9lb born at 1.49 on Wednesday morning Smile and we are now home safe and sound.

Good luck to everybody else, was surprised how quickly it all happened in the end!

Truffkin · 10/11/2011 21:21

Hey ladies, I'm 38+6 today and have just seen this thread. Whilst I'm generally ok with being pregnant, I seriously cannot wait to meet my baby and find out whether it's a girl or boy, finally see what s/he looks like and decide on his or her name Grin

I am annoyed that I can't sleep as it's always been a particularly specialist skill of mine and although I knew it would take a beating with a newborn, I did not realise that I'd get a practice some weeks beforehand!

Good luck everyone in the throes of labour. I'm hoping to hold out this weekend and have the baby on Monday! Wouldn't it be nice for everything to go so nicely to plan Wink

voodoomunkee · 11/11/2011 07:23

Congrats cerealqueen! Glad everything is ok :) and that you are home.
I'm now 40+3. Not very overdue but enough! Got through dd1's birthday so dd2 can come anytime now....now.... NOW! Very sick of every twinge, every text etc. Kids are at their dads this weekend so it would be nicely convenient to have her this weekend!

Pastabee · 11/11/2011 08:02

I'm 39+2 and was fine until yesterday when an overwhelming feeling of 'I'm fed up and want my baby out now' kicked in.

Had more BH's in the morning than I've ever had before and a feeling of pressure low down. I think I let myself get excited.... Have same feelings now but resolutely ignoring them as clearly means nothing!

Hope some of the overdue ladies have 11.11.11 babies.... I shouldn't even be complaining as not yet over due but hey ho pregnancy has a shelf life and I've hit a wall.

catgirl1976 · 11/11/2011 10:50

Congratualtions cerealqueen :) lovely news

I am now 39+3 - sweep booked for Tuesday and have managed to get a stinking cold. So have gone for wishing for labour to hoping it holds off till this clears up!

Fingers crossed for some 11.11.11 babies too - dont think its going to happen for me

Merlioness · 11/11/2011 12:39

Congratulations cerealqueen!
Welcome
voodoo glad that baby decided to let DD1 enjoy her birthday. Hoping things start soon for you
pastabee I so know that feeling. Sucks :(
cat hope you feel better soon. Apparently flu-like symptoms may mean the onset of labour doesn't everything though??

Well, at 38+2 today I have been for my OB appointment. Baby not engaged and cervix tightly shut. Ho hum. CTG showed a happy baby, but also showed contractions. During the 3 hours I was on the ward I kept contracting very painfully. Convinced the OB to let me go home (mostly because I was in the wrong hospital) and now they have stopped. Grr!

Hoping for some more babies on this thread soon

whimsicalquark · 11/11/2011 12:57

im 39+3 and utterly fed up. I want my baby now !!!! I keep getting the occasional twinge over last week or so (which i presume are braxton hicks ) and every time I convince myself now is the time. Im getting very disappointed when nothing further happens.
I started to get a show a week ago which is still on going (on and off ) (sorry if tmi) I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes so they allow me to go much over 40 weeks, my next appt is monday and they will book me in for induction then (although obv hope something happens over weekend)
this waiting game is not fun (and if one more person phones/txts or emails asking if anything has happened yet then im going to scream)

Pastabee · 11/11/2011 13:19

I just wish it was like the tv where no one seems to be waiting at all and the waters just break and contractions start.

All these twinges, mystery back pains, 'is this a show or not moments', sweeps etc never happens in the movies!

Truffkin · 14/11/2011 14:24

Just checking in as nothing doing here! Have been for reflexology this morning so am hoping that might get things moving. Am pretty sure the baby is very happy in there, although it seems that if it gets any lower down it might fall out when I go for a walk Grin

How is everyone doing?

Merlioness · 14/11/2011 15:10

Good luck Truffkin. Hope this gets things moving for you.

Had contractions last Friday whilst on CTG and for several hours after, but it's all gone now. Still huge, fed up and pregnant. My feet no longer go down to a normal size, I ache every time I wake up and struggle out of bed tot he loo, whilst also suffering from insomnia :(

No longer counting down to my due date, but induction. 2+2 to go :(

voodoomunkee · 14/11/2011 18:11

Oh merlioness, induction?
Nothing happening here. Am fed up! OH is fed up, dc's are fed up! Sweep on weds if nothing going on by then. 41 weeks tomorrow.... God I want to have this baby!!!!
