Hello, if you're looking for information on youngvibes.co.uk child anxiety program, they are the same people as YCFF and Peaky Parents. They've set up under a new name.

See previous thread for discussion:

I’m Co-director of a national CIC and we offer support for parents, we have lived experience and professional peer support training and we seek funding from commissioners and other pots of funding. We don’t believe in charging vulnerable parents for support which should be available. www.definefine.org.uk
we also run free webinars and Q&A sessions for parents

That is worrying. Understanding how schools are being pressured currently by DfE and LA’s it’s very concerning that schools might be taken in

I agree. I work with schools and SEN and other needs is a massive, under funded issue. I am also concerned that schools wont do their research into this company to realise it wont work for many of these pupils as they have other diagnosed reasons for their anxiety, diagnosis that this company CANNOT work with and DO NOT understand properly.

Tangarinedream · 18/06/2024 12:11

@whatsonyourplate stay away from them. @TherapistandParent Sam and Martin will never learn. They went in to this for the money, not to help. Remember when they said this to a parent? I took a screenshot because they were threatening to sue the parent so they took it down. They threaten to sue anybody that speaks their truth and experience.

They lack all professionalism, qualifications, empathy. You need no more proof of that than the BBC interview https://downloads.bbc.co.uk/rmhttp/fileon4/PAJ_2707_PG13_Mental_Health_Profiteers.pdf

they offer a refund but refuse it as they blame families it does not work.

Spread the BBC interview far and far wide.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000zt9y

They tell families they record but then refuse to allow them the recordings. They refuse to give data. You must make sure the information is kept secure, accurate and up to date.
When you collect someone’s personal data you must tell them who you are and how you’ll use their information, including if it’s being shared with other organisations.
You must also tell them that they have the right to:

  • see any information you hold about them and correct it if it’s wrong
  • request their data is deleted
  • request their data is not used for certain purposes

Given the 1000s of FB followers, I can only hope. As a psychotherapist, if there was a ‘cure’ for anxiety I would be shouting from the rooftops. I am truly hoping that she can help people and her intentions aren’t all about money. It makes me uneasy, but I have to believe people can change and there is some compassion there.

Tangarinedream · 18/06/2024 16:09

Nobody who cared about children and their families would charge £5,000. Therapists are £55-65 an hour.

My anxiety levels are increasing just thinking about this company! I still get flashes of my experience with them and I still question myself as a parent and a partner because of what they said.

Are they still charging that amount? And where are there real numbers of 'recoveries', including those they threw of the programme and those who had to leave?

I also expect these numbers don't include many young people whose anxiety is linked to previous diagnosis.

Hols12345 · 18/06/2024 18:23

This looks amazing http://www.definefine.org.uk/ @Perfectstorm72 - and should be shared far and wide!

I posted a lot on these threads as this user name and also @Mibb2 and @Mibb. I don't believe that Sam and Martin will change, going on my interactions with them in the past and other people's experiences. I hope anyone looking for help will try Define Fine first. http://www.definefine.org.uk/

@whatsonyourplate I truly wish I would have listened to my gut. I saw red flags but chose to listen to my desperation and overwhelm. When I did the free workshop, -they used very manipulative tactics. “ How much would you be willing to pay to have your child well?” That is not exact phrasing but it was something similar. Basically, they knew parents were desperate and that £5,000 was not sane, fair or reasonable, but they scare you with the tactics they learned in their marketing class. You feel bad if you do not value your child enough to pay the hefty fee. They wreaked havoc and stress in our lives. Financial and emotional. They also denied us an SAR saying they do not record. Before that, Sam said she could watch the recording and prove she did not say really inappropriate things to DD we know she said. We asked for video and then she did not have it. These people are dishonest, unprofessional and unqualified. Our DD benefited from therapy, which Sam belittled. Be very careful with organizations who say they are the only ones with the answer. Who does that benefit if only Martin and Sam know the real way. Millions of other theorists and doctors are inadequate but two uneducated and unqualified people who took a marketing class are?

Tangarinedream · 18/06/2024 18:53

@3xteens I can’t even look or I get angry but last time I was in the loop, they were going by month or hour or something. I should have just thrown my money in the trash. Less stress and accusations and blame from people who said they would help

Tangarinedream · 18/06/2024 18:56

@Perfectstorm72 I wonder if we can post that on their Facebook account? How best to spread the word about this organization Define Fine ? Thanks for this.

Yep! We could have done so much with the £000s we handed over. That's what happens when you are desperate 🥺

Many of the (free) parent carer peer support organisations can be found here as members of the Charlie Waller Trust PLACE network. The problem is if Sam is going to schools as a self identified expert, then schools may well take the easy option and say yes. (Unless they do solid due diligence.)

So it needs other suitable organisations to step in first.

Define Fine CIC are already included on many local offers and continue to work to get onto all. But letting schools know we are there to help build bridges is really difficult as we don’t have tons of spare money for marketing as Sam must have if the number of Facebook ads is anything to go by!

User2243 · 05/09/2024 16:38

For anyone who has a child that is suffering from mental health problems, mainly anxiety which is affecting their school and homelife, DO NOT even consider signing yourself up to one of Sam Robins' anxiety '100% Cure' programmes that she offers for costly sums of money. Please read on for why....
Firstly, Sam and her 'coaches' have no actual qualifications to be teaching you, or your child any methods that will help them. The overall credibility is very shifty because many of the 'coaches' aren't even UK based so won't be guaranteed to DBS checked if if they ask for it to the standard required for working with children and vulnerable people. Samantha has no scientific or approved medical based evidence for her courses and all of her courses are guaranteed to 100% work on endless mental health probelms, which is strange as she knows the time limit and how she is going to 'miraculously' Cure your child before even speaking to them. Every child and mental health problem has been proven by specialists to not have a set time limit on how long it will take to get your child back to 'normal', especially considering anxiety is only controllable not curable. Sam also discourages her clients not to seek professional help from specialists such as doctors as they have been 'lying to you' and do not know how to treat anxiety as it is a 'physiological condition'. I personally would put my trust in doctors over unqualified facebook ranters. Anxiety is a psychological illness which causes physiological symptoms. Do not be brainwashed into thinking otherwise.
The next reason is the complete unprofessionalism I have seen on Facebook and from Sam herself on the zoom calls for anxious children, the course is very high pressure and sam speaks very rudely at times asking for parents to "shutup". The parents who are fully enhanced in the course are treat better than those who have questions or obstacles. I also saw on one of the adverts that they can Cure suicide? Which is odd as I have never met anyone who can be risen from the dead but would love to hear more about that i will link the screenshot below. Sam also claims autism is a mental health problem and anyone who goes to the doctor for anxiety will immediately be put on the autism spectrum.
Thirdly as none of her workers are DBS checked and do not have any qualifications they could be anyone/ untrusting dangerous people which I wouldn't be putting your kids information in the hands of. Sam also changed her company's name 8 times alteast in the past couple of years from anxious to awesome, peaky parents etc. The adverts claim you will earn 40,000 pounds if you join etc. It personally sounds like a pyramid scheme as people pay into it and then can work for the company. The course is around 2-5000 pounds which is extortionate just for therapy, they encourage you to take out loans and make you pay a large sum if not all before you even get started. It then starts charging extra for calls and zoom calls. They even tried to forge the NHS logo into their zoom account I will link below. If Sam's methods are so successful why hasn't she shared them with specialists which would earn her alot more money than constantly making new websites and targeting desperate vulnerable parents and their bank accounts. I saw firsthand the brainwashing she does to families and even asked my child for her medical information about 5 seconds after talking to her. Your child is not 100% guaranteed to be recovered after this course and could potentially end up worse. Please read the mums net reviews and look on Sam's BBC radio 4 interview as it is very informing on what sort of programme and person you are getting yourself into. PLEASE do your research before getting yourself into this and do not press on any Facebook links and videos you see Sam or anyone doing, I understanding may be confusing as they are running countless accounts

Wow! “No experience required” that says it all really.

I don’t know much about this Company (other than the constant name changes), but I wonder if she’s improved at all? The information posted is from 3 years ago. I would never defend how she acted, but I really hope now she has increased training/understanding. Although I did notice she told one poster that they don’t work with autism and later on told another they did 🤔 for everyone’s sake I hope they get the support they need.

User2243 · 05/09/2024 22:25

I doubt it I have asked for qualifications and got my account blocked

3xteens · 06/09/2024 17:14

User2243 all of what you have said is so true. As I am blocked from their FB pages I see nothing of what is going on. It's taken a long time for me to get over the damage this company did to me as a parent and to our child. A child with autism no less that this company denied exists. And no the anxiety was NOT why the diagnosis was made!! I only wish we had spent our £1000s more wisely but it's gone. I just hope there arent too many families with a similar story out there 🥺

And I cant believe they can afford to pay people £40,000 either. Are that many families really still signing up??

Please can you update us with more recent names that the company has gone under. At least one mentioned I'd never heard off.

User2243 · 06/09/2024 18:32

I'm so sorry you had to go through this more awareness needs to be spread about this the only names I know of are young vibes, anxious to awesome, peaky parents, shed anxiety, Clovelly calm, your child freedom formula and kaktus kids but the names change very regularly so be aware of that. Yes I agree the course affects you both mentally and financially it's horrible. Hope you are okay now. They can't pay people 40,00 pounds as it is a pyramid scheme so they cannot pay them. I saw on one video that "autism does not exist" and the next one said it is a mental health problem it is just changing every minute.

3xteens · 07/09/2024 22:32

User 2243 thank you and yes we need to keep questioning this company. there are 3 names on that list that are new to me!

Hi
I am not sure this post is still going. But I keep getting ads about this company and thanks for this tread I won't tell go near them at all after this thread why do they seem to be able to come up all the time on FB . Any company that doesn't show how they help what they charge just don't go near. Although it was tempting as I tried so many things over last 2 years and I can't get my DD to school.but companies like this should be banned .it is shocking
