Carrying on the discussion of YCFF and other similar programmes...

I agree, very good article, good!

I've also been wondering how much it costs to do the training to become a mentor? I've seen one of the reviewers on TP crowdfunding for "child freedom formula training" - I wonder if this was to become a YCFF mentor? Could be totally unrelated of course..

GoodButNaughty · 27/06/2021 15:19

I’m keeping to my factual posts as it’s helping me not to get drawn in or be criticised by YCFF Supporters

@Psuedoshoes - the crowdfunding to train to be a mentor is for YCFF (I have quite a bit of research supporting this). The lady crowdfunding is quite an interesting character...

My research supports the fact that the reduced fee to use YCFF if you train to be a mentor is £2,500 instead of £5,500. I’m not sure if this has changed since they (apparently) re-structured their pricing.

SwanShaped · 27/06/2021 15:36

I don’t know how much it costs, but I do know that they advertise an up to £40k salary if you become a coach.

TeenMinusTests · 29/06/2021 15:27

I've had a informative answer to the questions I posed of Gracelands at the end of the previous thread, so much so I am reposting it here so you don't miss it:

  • Can you tell us any more about the advice you are given on how to handle things?
No each program is individualised for you and your child
  • How long have you been on the programme for?
I have been on the program long enough to know it is a positive experience for my child.
  • What kind of improvements have you seen so far?
I have seen an improvement in my child but this is personal to her and her needs. Hmm

Why is it that users of this formula are so unable to tell us anything much of the advice they are given and the benefits they see?

(My DD ate a chocolate bar outside yesterday - the first food outside the home in over a year. Smile)

SwanShaped · 29/06/2021 15:35

Thanks teen. That’s, er, enlightening...

SwanShaped · 29/06/2021 15:35

Yay to chocolate outdoors!!

Psuedoshoes · 29/06/2021 15:58

That's very vague answers to what is supposedly a formula, hmmmm... Hmm

Well done to your daughter Teen - every win is a major achievement! Smile

This is what I really don't get. The users of the formula who have been posting seem so unable / unwilling to tell us much, - why is it?
Possible answers I've come up with:

A) it is actually people involved with the organisation who want to encourage us but aren't willing to create a back story in case they are tripped up
B) it is all smoke and mirrors so when users start to consider they realise they haven't got much tangible to say
C) YCFF has them over a barrel and says if they post anything identifiable they will stop the service
D) they start all enthusiastic and gushing but no tangible results and then feel foolish coming back later to say they were wrong
E) far far too complicated or too private to ever explain anything and you just have to go with it and commit rather than waste time asking questions...

I mean why isn't it possible to say e.g.

  • Although all situations are different we have been advised to only provide meals at fixed times / turn off wifi at 9pm / stay with them in the same room at all times / talk about their fears / distract them from the fears / get friends to call round / push them to do things / don't push them to do things
  • We did the 8 week course and started seeing benefits after 3 weeks, we are now 5 months after completing the course and we still do drop ins weekly
  • DC has gone from being holed up in their room to happily going for walks with us (after 3 weeks) and now goes to the shops with us (after 7 weeks) and yesterday went on a train (after 4 months).

i do feel any program geared towards teens mental health (whether they want to call it psychological or physiological) needs far more scrutiny and transparency. I am amazed and concerned that these things can exist without some oversight, especially when aimed at children. I agree. I don’t quite understand how this is permitted.

SwanShaped · 29/06/2021 17:32

Teen I vote option A.

Comfysofa78 · 29/06/2021 18:11

Completely agree @TeenMinusTests
I am put off by vague responses and people easily taking offence combined with aggressive Facebook posts.

Great news about your DD, we all love chocolate and breakthroughs. Finding the little breakthroughs easy to identify too. Cinema (drive in), take away food, eating food with fingers, car journeys, having a visitor, joining a zoom call, shopping at Tesco, clothes shopping. Although these may be one offs, never to be repeated, they are easy to pick out.

You don’t need to give personal details in order to explain these, responses are very strange.

So pleased you have been doing well and thank you all for your input, I certainly don’t regret my decision not to sign up thanks to these posts. Who knows, if they turn it around maybe I will change my mind but certainly not right now.

ConcernedObserver · 30/06/2021 08:28

“High Ticket” charlatans will be laughing all the way to the bank until Facebook become slightly less greedy and police what people are advertising. I’m astounded that these business models (selling miracle cures for mental health issues - in children!) are in any way legal, targeting desperate vulnerable folk and haranguing them until they cough up.

Psuedoshoes · 30/06/2021 09:30

And his response to a negative review. Sounds oddly similar to some of the parents on the previous thread, accusing anyone who criticises of "blocking" other people from accessing, simply by daring to say anything negative Hmm

I have other pop-ups on FB which could also be a similar HTCA format - one woman (previous model turned ‘entrepreneur/coach) in US offering trauma healing - also in 8 weeks. Miraculous time-frame, it seems.

Two posters on previous thread have ignored my questions as to how they came to YCFF - what drew hem to it, what made them decide to take the leap, and what they may have tried before that point. I don’t see any authenticity in any of the posts there, as a result of similarities of tone, content, missing tangible information.

Oh my goodness @ConcernedObserver. Where did you find that quote?

Psuedoshoes · 30/06/2021 10:02

@SwanShaped

Oh my goodness *@ConcernedObserver*. Where did you find that quote?
It's on the High Ticket Coaching Academy - worldwide FB page. I had a look after seeing the post from Concerned... they've got a huge brass neck, I'll give them that!!

There isn't anything particularly ground breaking as far as "High Ticket" techniques go, it's just old fashioned hard sales tactics repackaged to make use of modern technology and tools.

In a nutshell you dream up something you could potentially sell remotely and come up with a price for it. Keep adding zeros onto the price until you can't stop laughing & throw as many Facebook users at your sales pitch as possible. You don't need many sales a week to make ridiculous money, since you're charging a vastly, hugely inflated price for some service that you're now a specialist in and your only expense is advertising on Facebook.

Thanks both.

GoodButNaughty · 30/06/2021 12:50

Just updating you on some of MTF (my therapist friend's) actions since I last posted on ACTIONS TAKEN (that was some time ago now, sorry).

The ASA has re-opened its case against YCFF (TomWill Holdings Ltd is their trading name); they closed it as the FaceBook Ads ceased however MTF directed them to the Kids Anxiety Disorders page and Ads and they immediately reopened it.

MTF has a therapist freind (confused yet..?!) who provides sessions for Anxiety UK. MTF provided some links to him and he has sent all of this off to Anxiety UK to review. I don't know for sure, but I can only speculate that they may have an opinion on how this approach is being marketed.

That's my update for now Smile.

AlwaysNeedCoffee · 30/06/2021 14:07

Thanks so much for these recent posts. So reassuring that I'm not missing an amazing therapy! I knew it was too good to be true and there's no way I would have signed up. I watched the webinar out of interest. The host (that we know as Sam) didn't even give her name, yet would expect people to sign up. Thankfully I didn't get to the indoctrination phase.

So the Martin Robins below, is a partner in YCCF and also married to Samantha Louise Robins?

AlwaysNeedCoffee · 30/06/2021 14:09

YCFF obviously...

GoodButNaughty · 30/06/2021 15:21

Yes @AlwaysNeedCoffee - you are completely right. Sam(antha) and Martin Robins are a husband and wife team who previously ran a printing company.

They’re currently directors of Tomwill Holdings Ltd (incorporated 14 Nov 2017) which is what YCFF trades under. Note the company was dormant until March 2018.

All of this information is freely available on the Government company information service.

SwanShaped · 30/06/2021 15:52

Thanks good. Hopefully anxiety uk can look into it too.

SwanShaped · 30/06/2021 16:14

I still don’t get what it is really. Is it an MLM?
