ive seen adverts for this on fb. they claim to be able to cure anxiety in young people. im suspicious - and nowhere does it tell you the cost. however im fairly desperate since my 16 year old is very disabled by anxiety. thanks

Big pharma are obviously corrupt in so many ways. Money drives it. But the NHS would not needlessly waste millions of there was something so effective. I get that they may be slow to change at times but this is not the answer.

TeenMinusTests · 15/05/2021 08:33

Just reading this thread has me shocked. The strong likelihood is they are preying on desperate people and taking advantage of them.

If you can afford £5500 you could spend it much more wisely on trained clinical psychiatrists and counsellors.

We gave up waiting for CAMHS (have now been waiting a year) but DD has turned a corner now with medication and counselling.

SwanShaped · 15/05/2021 08:49

Also, there are no contact details on there, doesn’t show who owns it and no company number on it. I searched in Companies House and Freedom Formula Ltd was set up in 2018. It has zero employees and no money in accounts.

I’m so sorry that your child is suffering, OP. You must feel so sad and upset. I have experience of a family member with severe anxiety so I know the desperation you feel when you can see what they could achieve if the bloody anxiety didn’t exist

SwanShaped · 15/05/2021 08:52

I don’t know if that’s 100% the same company that I searched as there is no way to find out through the Child Freedom Formula website.

mynameiscalypso · 15/05/2021 08:55

I hate that this kind of thing is legal.

SwanShaped · 15/05/2021 10:07

Yeah it shouldn’t be allowed. I hope you get some help, OP

MummyKat2 · 15/05/2021 10:47

The issue here is how vague they are about everything. They don't explain what they do. They don't explain the process and what it all entails. It's a simple "Pay and you will see what we do" No explanation about the "so called formula" and the fact that they keep the price a big secret until you make the call is very suspect. They make you call so that they can try and guilt trip you into paying. There are so many of us struggling with the issues are children are dealing with and to have people like this who are taking advantage of parents at their most vulnerable point is wrong.

Krook · 15/05/2021 11:47

If your child is seriously struggling I can recommend joining a private FB group called Parenting Mental Health. It's been a lifesaver for me. There are lots (too many!) parents going through the same thing and they offer brilliant support.

@AngieOzMum

We have been doing this programme for our 10 year old for 2 weeks now. It’s amazing. The results are deep and immediate but it takes work. You need to be able to stop the worry about your child and create a state change that supports their recovery. Sure it costs £2500 but it’s a small price to pay for the very real and rapid results. They support you for life actually and you can come back gratis at anytime if your child (Or you) stumbles. I think their approach and strategies are brilliant and would not hesitate to recommend them. I really feel the care and are 100% invested in the recovery of my child. Go for it as soon as you can. They pretty much guarantee the recovery of your child if you follow the steps. My child has gone from frequent meltdowns to so much better and almost back to normal in a really short time. Still a way to go though as he is not at school.
So what are these extraordinary techniques and strategies? What do they actually do and offer? What's it all about?

AngieOzMum Another username who has only posted on this thread...

SwanShaped · 15/05/2021 19:45

Interesting @TeenMinusTests ... Can you tell me who is the founder of the company?

lu9months · 15/05/2021 20:02

@AngieOzMum youve paid half price, so that means youve agreed to be a mentor before youve finished the programme. do you feel qualified ? why , when ive started to ask genuine questions, have they stopped answering my emails/texts?

It’s a bit early to be so convinced after 2 weeks IMHO

emmamccabe01 · 15/05/2021 20:19

Glad to see someone else here trying it like me. You couldn't explain the whole formula its drawn out over a long period but you have to commit to it.

Just give it a go. A small summary maybe.
KarmaViolet · 15/05/2021 20:49

Just read the FAQs and it sounds like a cult.

SwanShaped · 15/05/2021 22:04

@lu9months that’s so bad that they have the word indoctrination in it. I still want to know who the person who runs it is. If it’s the person who registered the company I mentioned, then he also seems to have been involved in other MLM coaching type things. I want to know why there’s no contact details on the website. No complaints procedure listed and I want to know who their safeguarding lead is for the company. And yes, the FAQ stuff does seem cult like or MLM like. Particularly, the ‘if it’s not working it’s your fault’ aspect of it.

Can either of the current participants answer any of these questions? Seems like they’re ignoring OP. I’ve got really pissed off about this because it’s her child’s mental health that she’s worried about. It’s no small thing.

What have you got to lose? Sure it’s a few quiz but it’s nothing when you think it will give your child back their life and help them feel better.

A few quid? Bloody hell!

And tbh it's not just about the money. You could severely and permanently damage your child. That's what you've got to lose.

SwanShaped · 15/05/2021 23:09

Yeah I’ve found her and her husband now on companies house. Wasn’t the person I was thinking of.

Also saw a TrustPilot review saying it’s a pyramid scheme. All the positive reviews were written in April this year at about the same time. My other query is, if she has 100% success rate in curing anxiety (doubtable) why would she not just let people know how it’s done? Tell people the new secret is? In the indoctrination video, she says that curing anxiety in childhood means that you will never ever suffer from an anxiety disorder again. It’s a ridiculous claim. If it were true, then everyone would just do this new way and anxiety wouldn’t exist anymore. Does she honestly think she’s come up with a way of curing anxiety with 100% success rate that no one has ever thought of before?

Regarding what people have to lose, they could make their child feel worse. They could lose £5k of money. They could lose trust and hope.

emmamccabe01 · 15/05/2021 23:09

@AngieOzMum I totally agree with you. We have just started with the formula and my daughter has her first mentor session Monday. Everything I have learned so far has opened my eyes and give me hope. The portal and drop in sessions every day are really helpful. Like you say it's allot of money but what would you pay to have your child feel better. Sam is amazing and so passionate about helping children having suffered herself for years before she recovered. Glad you have posted not sure many people on here believed me.

Are there any testimonials about how she has 'cured' anorexia? Given it's the mental health condition with the highest mortality rate, I think she should do the world a service and let us all in on that.
