@lu9months Also regular pop-up ads on FB as Kida Anxiety Disorders Solutions; also making claims to cure a number of MH issues (transient comments, deleted a little later). Seems to attract plenty of interest.

Psuedoshoes · 24/06/2021 14:06

Do we need a new thread? I'd be interested to see if any parents could come on and give us a detailed account and answer some of the salient points asked here

Mibb2 · 24/06/2021 15:44

pseudo... A new thread could be useful for that?

It would be good if someone from YCFF could come on and answer questions. I'm getting quite exhausted having to repeat the same things over and over to new posters calling me one of "you mums".

I'd follow a new thread though if you start one!

dappledsunshine · 24/06/2021 16:23

Likewise mibb it's extraordinary how similar the posts are directed at us "mums" Hmm

SwanShaped · 24/06/2021 17:14

Hi gracelands. Can you quote the posts that are aggressive, please? It would be good to get aggressive posts removed.

New thread would be good pseudo Kids Anxiety Coaching maybe? Dunno. I’m not good at titles

Mibb2 · 24/06/2021 17:29

Indeed dappled, I've also noticed how more than one of the posters who've come here to tell us to 'give YCFF a try' have reeled off lists of extremely distressing behaviours and situations their child / family are going through, as if it's just a shopping list.

I've never noticed fellow parents anxious children doing this before, as in my experience they tend to have more empathy and sensitivity towards others going through similar struggles.

Mibb2 · 24/06/2021 17:30

Thanks pseudo!

Gracelands · 24/06/2021 17:31

In answer to questions, yes I have read all threads.
I am sure that all the negative comments are coming from people who have not been involved or committed to the program. They have no personal experience of the program either. For a parent and child following the program, the child mentors are brilliant and the program is individualised to the needs of the child, no child is labelled, medication is not needed. There is positivity between parents and on the children's portals. DBS is mentioned on here. The sessions are on zoom so families have the safety and security of being in their own homes. I read here "What is being criticised is the lack of upfront information available, the aggressive sales tactics" If your not involved in the program, move on, you don't need to read the information if it is not for you. I feel a vigilante mob rule is evident.

DoubleTweenQueen · 24/06/2021 17:33

@Gracelands - how did you come by the programme, and what made you decide to take the leap?

Mibb2 · 24/06/2021 17:43

Gracelands

Again, many of us have agreed that the format of high level of support / parent groups / peer mentors etc, sounds like it could work really well for anxiety.

I'm concerned mainly about sharing of children's personal information and identities on the website / Facebook and trustpilot review replies and the high pressure sales technique which I believe is inappropriate for a program aimed at vulnerable families.

Have you seen the aggressive and reactive Facebook post about 'Flappy Ears'?

You're right it would be easier for me to 'move on' but I actually feel strongly about this, having been in a position a few years ago where I would have been vulnerable to a 'hard sell' technique. And I also care deeply about the ethics of sharing children's personal data and identities online.

Psuedoshoes · 24/06/2021 18:10

A DBS check is still required, even when adults are meeting with children solely online.

TeenMinusTests · 24/06/2021 18:38

Gracelands I'd still be really interested to know:

  • Can you tell us any more about the advice you are given on how to handle things?
  • How long have you been on the programme for?
  • What kind of improvements have you seen so far?
Gracelands · 26/06/2021 18:12

Sorry for all those who have tried YCFF and not been successful. We have had a lot of support from NHS, CAMHS that have been unsuccessful.
I have come to realise that my child is suffering with an Anxiety Disorder and has a physiological condition and not a psychological disorder. Hence the traditional treatments, therapies and medication routes make children worse not better.
Ask yourself a question - Has any child you know recovered after having any of the above treatments?
Any Mum or Dad booking a call with YCFF will not walk away with no help - They are giving all your children Kactus Kids free if you are not ready or able to enrol your child.
Finally, they have a new way to pay (this is now affordable for everyone) and 6 Drop in Sessions every day for Mums and Dads.
Don't knock something you haven't tried. We were at the end of the line for our daughter and she is now recovering through this program.

TeenMinusTests · 26/06/2021 18:20

@Gracelands Maybe you didn't see my post directly above yours?
I'd still be really interested to know:

  • Can you tell us any more about the advice you are given on how to handle things?
  • How long have you been on the programme for?
  • What kind of improvements have you seen so far?
Psuedoshoes · 26/06/2021 19:37

Gracelands, we have a new thread - link above - if you'd like to come and post there- would be great if you could answer some of the questions we have Smile

Gracelands · 29/06/2021 10:26

@TeenMinusTests

  • Can you tell us any more about the advice you are given on how to handle things?
No each program is individualised for you and your child
  • How long have you been on the programme for?
I have been on the program long enough to know it is a positive experience for my child.
  • What kind of improvements have you seen so far?
I have seen an improvement in my child but this is personal to her and her needs.
TeenMinusTests · 29/06/2021 15:23

Gracelands Thank you for that highly useful and informative answer. Hmm

GullibleTwo · 29/06/2021 19:49

Evidence based practice is crucial and not ethical to talk down NHS treatments/interventions when you are advising this program. Medication & psychological therapies has and works for some kids and for some it doesn't. Please dont mislead parents here by claiming this program is a cure. It's wrong. The questions still remain where is the evidence that this treatment works? Its success or failure. It cant all be a success that's very misleading and please dont come on this thread to advertise. Just tell us exactly what this program has done and how. I have been on thev60min call and still maintain mistrust on the authenticity of this program. If it has or is working for you gd luck.

GullibleTwo · 29/06/2021 19:51

Meant to say when you are advertising this program

Gracelands · 30/06/2021 12:02

Gullible Two
If you are referring to me. I am not and have not advertised and I have not said or mislead parents by implying or saying it is a cure. I stated my personal experience of NHS treatment and interventions which is true to us. I am entitled to do that.
If you do not like reading positive comments about this program, then that is very biased against the program.
If someone has made their mind up and maintains mistrust on the authenticity of this program then so be it.
I have said this therapy is working for my daughter but I do not have to say how because as I have said before that is personal to us and our experience on this program.

TeenMinusTests · 30/06/2021 12:25

Gracelands This is the only thread you are on with this username. It is hardly going to be outing for you to give a bit more detail. You won't even say how long you have been on the formula for!

I guess YCFF must think that all publicity is good publicity if not a single one of their users feels able to give any level of detail, despite that leaving a very bad impression of the organisation.

GoodButNaughty · 30/06/2021 12:46

@Gracelands - I note your use of the word 'Therapy'. Is there a reason why you used this word as whatever the YCFF Formula is, it is certainly not therapy.

I am of the same opinion as TeenMinusTests as posted above - also, if you do not like reading negative comments about the program then you can choose to step away from this thread, which very clearly now is focussed on obtaining transparency and information.

I can only summise from your lack of informative posts that you do not intend to provide either and therefore I respectfully suggest you let us carry on in our quest and cease trying to persaude us of the merits of YCFF. I am sorry to say that I will not be persauded.

GullibleTwo · 30/06/2021 17:56

Everyone is entitled to comment on their experiences of the NHS, positive or negative but not when pushing the merits of YCFF. There is nothing tangible on anything positive that those who have used are saying about this program. That seems to be the problem. Why share what the program has done if you are not able to divulge tangible evidence. It only raises people's suspicions.Shock

andrahutch · 21/04/2022 23:45

My daughter did this Your Child Freedom Formula by Samantha Robinson. It cost me £5000 and it did not help my daughter in any way.
