@allofthelove sorry you didn't get any answers, I'm coming here for the same reason. How long have you waited? X

Have you tried the Family Fund to see if they will provide the safety bed? Wink

ExplodingSmittens · 13/11/2023 18:50

And @allofthelove have you found the SN Children Section? You may get a few more more responses in there Flowers

allofthelove · 14/11/2023 14:57

@Asdmummyhere I have just rang them to make sure they received by payslips and they are backdating carers allowance to the 13th July . Should be in my bank on Thursday . It would be 3 weeks to the day on Friday that I submitted my application

No i don't receive universal credit . I'd ring them around when it's been 3 weeks . There's a bit of wait , but it isn't nearly as long as DLA when you call.

Hi does anyone know how long it takes to get carers allowance? Is it 6 weeks or shorter? My little boy got DLA HRC confirmation yesterday and so I went online and applied. As I don’t work and don’t claim anything else but DLA. But just wondering if anyone else knows how long I will have to wait and if it’s backdated to the DLA scan date?

Asdmummyhere · 14/11/2023 16:19

@Thismamalife @allofthelove has called and she will receive her backpay on Thursday. Making it 3 weeks on Friday since applying so really quick. I only applied Thursday so not even a week yet. Have you updated your journal for disability element and carers element? x

allofthelove · 16/11/2023 07:51

I today received my carers allowance back dated from 3 July up until til the date I applied . It would be exactly 3 weeks tomorrow that I applied .

@allofthelove I received backpay from 12th July. Absolutely gob smacked it's only been a week x

Thismamalife · 16/11/2023 09:18

You did? Can I ask when you did your application? I did mine only on Monday. Are they only taking a week? And back dating till the DLA scan date? That would be amazing!

Asdmummyhere · 16/11/2023 11:47

@allofthelove yes exactly a week. I applied last Thursday and received £1381.50 today which is equivalent to 18 weeks which is when my son was awarded dla.I don't work and havnt since he was born so didn't need to send anything off or anything x

@Thismamalife sorry replied to wrong person 🤣

Thismamalife · 20/11/2023 05:12

Hi can I ask when applying for carers did you put anything in the comment box on the application? I just put my sons DLA reference number but was I meant to write a big statement of his needs like I did for DLA? Worried the application was too easy to fill in and I won’t get carers allowance. I’m similar to you, haven’t worked since my son was born and provide him full time care.

thanks.

Asdmummyhere · 20/11/2023 09:15

@Thismamalife no hun I didn't put anything

Thismamalife · 20/11/2023 09:18

Gosh I hope I hear quick like you. Thanks for replying x

Thismamalife · 20/11/2023 17:45

Hi can I also ask did you get a text message to say you’ve been awarded carers allowance or was it just in your bank account? Thanks.

Asdmummyhere · 20/11/2023 18:15

@Thismamalife hey, no I just woke up to the money in my account x

No comments is for example explaining than you pay into a pension or childcare as it means you can earn more than £139 per week.

Mumma3girls · 22/11/2023 09:56

Glad I spotted this thread. I applied on Monday and had to send off payslips, p45 and pension statement.
I’ve only applied from Oct when I stopped working as just awarded DLA.
hoping it doesn’t take long for them to respond…
