Carers allowance

Hi

I have applied for carers allowance , as I have been awarded DLA for my child. Does anyone know how long it takes to process the application ?

The CAU were absolutely ridiculous with mine..

I applied January 3rd & asked for it to be backdated to October 3rd- so 12 weeks. I’ve spent weeks chasing it up & finally today after 11 weeks, they’ve said they’ve sent a back payment of 24 weeks worth, so roughly £1,800 & it should be in my account by the end of the week.

Applied for this last week as DC has just been awarded CDP (in Scotland).
