Blood test yesterday: Serum CA 125 level over 35 indicates possible cancer. Mine is 213. Shit.

DH knows and one friend but I don't want to worry anyone else until I know how bad it is; hence I've name changed for this post. I'd love to know how anyone else has coped / is coping.

CT scan Saturday and USS on Monday. GP has made 2ww gynae referral today.

What a shame, she was so looking forward to getting home. I wish her a swift recovery from her infection. Thank you for updating us. Will be thinking of you both x

Glad that she's slowly getting over the infection, wishing her the best.

Thetravelingtiger · 08/09/2025 17:35

I hope this provides some comfort, I had all the signs including test results that indicated bowel cancer. I was referred on 2 weeks, had a colonoscopy and I was absolutely fine, early tests and symptoms said otherwise. Its not always the worse case scenario.

RTFT, she has been diagnosed and is getting treatment, unfortunately she's now picked up an infection as well. Though I'm glad it wasn't your experience.

OP there are a few conditions which can cause this elevation, but just a word of support. I had a breast cancer diagnosis last year and treatment was prompt, appropriate and of excellent quality. I was kept informed at every stage and supported with every decision I needed to make. So if it is as you fear, you will benefit from the much improved cancer services available. Thinking of you and sending a hand hold.
