That's good news, OP. :)
I hope the endoscopy goes well.

LurgyMagnet · 23/11/2024 00:02

Thanks for the update OP. Fingers crossed for a bowel polyp, and here's hoping the immunotherapy means a long remission for you.

EachandEveryone · 23/11/2024 00:55

Have they found the primary yet? I’ve started the turkey tail mushrooms my oncologist said alot of his patients are on them. I’ll try anything.

UpUpUpU · 23/11/2024 11:07

Dontjudgeme101 · 24/11/2024 08:34

Good news op.

spiderlight · 24/11/2024 21:51

This is really good news. Your new consultant sounds like a keeper! Hope the endoscopy goes well tomorrow and it's just a boring polyp or something 🤞

Icantfindanewname · 04/12/2024 08:20

Good morning @Wells37 . How is it going? I have everything crossed that your biopsy results found a boring polyp. You are still in my thoughts every day x

Thank you. Yes it was just a polyp😀
The radiotherapy has hit me harder than I expected. One minute I feel fine, so go and do something then feel completely knackered! I'm finding it really hard. Completely over did it yesterday and then I get really emotional and exhausted. Hoping I feel better soon.
Seeing a doctor about joining a trial tomorrow. I have to have some tests to see if I'm suitable though. It's to add something into the immunotherapy.

Wishing you all the best - you have a great attitude

ArabellaScott · 04/12/2024 11:04

That sounds really positive, OP. So glad to hear. I hope you feel better soon, and give yourself time to recover. It must have been a very stressful time.

Icantfindanewname · 04/12/2024 11:33

What a positive update, I seem to have been holding my breath for someone I don't know and will probably never meet 🤗. Maybe they took more of my brain than I thought!

Research studies can be fab (I used to work in an office which approved them for their Trust patients), especially when they are an addition to what you would have been offered anyway. Grasp everything, you never how positive the outcome may be.

As for tiredness, do whatever you have to do to get through each day. Tiredness may last a while, even after you finish the actual treatment. If you find your skin is tender, you could try the lotion from MyTrusty. It was developed by the NHS in Salisbury mainly for excema etc, but was fab on my radiotherapy blasted skin . Keep on keeping on, you've got this💪

BettyBardMacDonald · 04/12/2024 12:37

Very thrilled for you. 💐💐💐

unmemorableusername · 04/12/2024 22:02

I'm glad to hear you are having positive treatment.

Needingacoffee · 05/12/2024 13:16

Hi! I was very recently diagnosed with a Glioblastoma- stage 4. It's cancerous, and not curable. It is treatable. Had it removed by an operation, instead of them just taking a biopsy. It wasn't a huge shock for me to find out I was so unwell. I think I am coping better than my family at the moment. 😬😢💜
Off to another hospital tomorrow. They will discuss my treatment options I think. It will likely involve radio and chemotherapy.

What a crazy whirlwind of action it has been in recent days. 😳

Munchyseeds2 · 05/12/2024 19:08

!@Needingacoffee just wanted to wish you good luck for tomorrow
Stay positive

SockFluffInTheBath · 05/12/2024 19:20

Great news @Wells37 I hope the exhaustion eases.

@Needingacoffee best wishes, and I hope they have a solid plan tomorrow.

Wells37 · 08/12/2024 02:21

I'm back in hospital, this is so shit. My life was normal a few months ago. Now I'm back in with seizures and loss of feeling. Ct shows something but they can't tell what it is. Swelling, radiotherapy damage, or re growth or scarring. Being on steroids is going to delay immunotherapy.
Another dr said the bit in the top of my leg / buttocks is soft tissue which means there's lymph glands there. I didn't realise that. I have braf to so its fast growing

Oh gosh, so sorry to hear this!!! No words but know we are here for you to vent. I hope you can go home soon. ❤️💐💐💐

LilyJessie · 08/12/2024 04:08

@Needingacoffee - I'm so very sorry to read this 💗

@Wells37 - oh no 😔 I'm so sorry, I so hope you get some answers. This must all be so frightening. I think of you a lot and hope and pray things become easier soon for you and your family.

LurgyMagnet · 08/12/2024 04:40

Oh no. Hopefully it's just swelling and there's something they can easily do to remedy it. Continuing to keep fingers crossed for you.

WutheringHeightz · 08/12/2024 07:00

Oh @Wells37 that is shit. I am really rooting for you and think of you often. I hope you can distract yourself somehow from this latest worry with some fave TV shows / books / podcasts etc. Sending you love and best wishes from the West Country.
