What @titticaca said 💯 vit D3 with K2

user1499128287 · 11/11/2024 18:20

That sounds very positive. Good luck locating the pesky OG as soon as possible.

Tiredandmenopausal · 11/11/2024 21:18

Really pleased the surgery went well. I hope the results are easily manageable and highly treatable so that you go into remission. Praying that you still have many, many years ahead of you 🙏🏼

MuchuseasaChocolateTeapot · 11/11/2024 23:23

Fingers crossed for you OP. I hope the next steps are just as successful x

Hope you recover soon. Please make sure your vitamin D levels are high. Recent research has shown that people with low levels don't respond to cancer treatment as well as someone with high levels.

Ten thousand units a day should be enough.

Hopefully they are ok. As I did take vitamin D most days before all this.
I've got some good quality vitamin supplements I've been taking since the operation too.
I've been following a low carb diet since my diagnosis. No processed carbs, lots of organic veg, nuts, healthy fats and organic meat and a bit of fruit and the odd treat. I've actually really been enjoying my food and trying to have lots of variety.

That sounds great as cancer cells use glucose to grow.

I take 3 x these

and I also have 1 dose of this as it has the K2 in it too.

I'm sure you probably know all this anyway, just thought I would share in the hope that it might help someone.

Best of luck.

10,000 a day is nowhere near a toxic dose, the NHS guidelines are very out of date. Their opinion about calcium is alleviated by the K2 which directs excess calcium to your bones, so good for osteoporosis too.

If you spend all day outdoors in the sun, you can get over 50,000 from the sun alone.

The RDA for Vit d is the minimum you need to not get rickets! Hardly the optimal level.

Please seek other sources if you don't believe me.

Wells37 · 14/11/2024 07:26

I think I'm on a pretty good dose of vitamin d it has k2 in it too. I will look at the dose today.
I've read a lot about keto diet, I've probably been doing more low carb rather than keto. I've not had any processed carbs at all, I've been having lots of veg and 1 or 2 bits of fruit a day. Yesterday I had Greek yogurt, seeds and berries, mushroom and tomato omelette for lunch, roasted chicken thighs and butternut squash with lots veg. Snacks nuts, pear and keto chocolate treat I got from planet organic.
If anyone has any good information on diet, supplement etc that would be great. I love my food! And anything I can do to keep as healthy as possible for treatment I will do.

OP, firstly I wanted to wish you well. Secondly, could I suggest doing some research into Turkey Tail mushrooms. A friend has had incredible success with treating stage 3 colorectal cancer by including these in his diet while undergoing active treatment. So much so that he is now a "person of interest" to researchers. Nothing to lose by looking into it.

I have been thinking of you, and I hope that you're doing as well as you can be.

Your diet sounds fabulous as it is!

Hi @Wells37

I follow Deliciously Ella on Instagram, her recipes are simple to follow and all plant based. I try and make at least a couple of these dishes every week for DS1. We all eat a healthy diet anyway and do cook from scratch but I just want to get extra goodness into him.

Finished radiotherapy this week and got pet scan results, have 3 small areas on pet scan. 1 is a query in Lower bowel but apparently they get quite a lot of false positives in the bowel so I'm having an endoscopy to check that tomorrow. It could be a polyp.

Met my new consultant this week too, she taking over now radiotherapy is finished. I will start combined immunotherapy in a few weeks. The consultant was pretty positive about the immunotherapy giving long remissions and gave pretty good 5 year stats.
She said to continue on low carb and unprocessed diet and exercise when I feel able.

One of my friends has been treated with immune therapy for a cancer that usually means curtains within a few months.

2 and a half years of monthly infusions and he is still here and looking really well!

Lookingforward01 · 22/11/2024 19:57

Sounds positive OP!

Sounds good OP. Have they found the primary yet?

ZuzuMyLittleGingersnap · 22/11/2024 20:37

Good stuff, OP. Positive opinion from your Consultant.

Sounds like you're putting so much effort into self-help in general, which can only shore up your reserves. I admire your inner strength so much. 💪

Though go gently on yourself when your spirit feels like it...treats are important!

Best of luck with tomorrow's endoscopy.

Ukrainebaby23 · 22/11/2024 20:59

Great news. Any new recipes you've tried and really like?

ConstitutionHill · 22/11/2024 21:02
