Fat airics

Now that I have safely got my order in for two lime green fat airics (chilli sadly out of stock already), I can tell you that they are back in stock again. I was on the waiting list and just got a message from them, they have 400 in stock. So glad Aldi didn't have the cheap ones in stock on Monday now!

how small do they go when they're deflated? Can you roll them up? Not sure I can justify the expense as we're actually quite comfy on our airbed, but you lot are getting me excited about something I don't actually NEED! Shame on you.

It squashes pretty flat, then rolls up into a sausage shape but it's not tiny - probably about the same diameter as a football, and length same as an average camping mat. they say on the website it is for car camping as you wouldn't want to carry it.

Mine is here too!!! So glad you got yours ordered Surfermum
I called them about missing repair kit and they said they had to air freight some and it was considered hazardous, so had to be excluded at the factory, but then they wanted to ship them asap and didn't catch up with themselves I don't think. They were very apologetic. It is coming first class post next week though.
They do nothing to start with! I was a bit gutted but the lady on the phone said to leave them up overnight if you can as the foam is memory foam so more time inflated means quicker inflating yay.
(Still wish I had a Jaffa one though )

mine here! Thank goodness i caught the city link man as i pulled onto the drive... it would have been gone for the whole bank holiday weekend... ! Very glad to report that my fat airic is indeed fat... very fat!!! and a very nice lime green too! Although i haven't got a puncture repair kit too so i think i'll drop them a line.

Oooohhhhh - we're about to leave on our camping trip. Will update tomorrow once we've roadtested our airics!

Doodledoo · 24/05/2009 22:48

So, went camping and generally v good things to report about the fat airic.

We had a dire night's sleep due to being freezing, on a slope (last pitch available on the campsite) and being sandwiched between late night footballers, someone with a dreadful cough and a v early wakening child. Plus pigeons were roosting on the top of the tent and it was raining. A bit shite really (kids slept through it all as ever).

In spite of all of that our F.A.s stayed blown up all night. Normally my DP and I are both creaky and sore in morning from our crap airbed - none of that this morning, although the lack of sleep for other reasons makes it hard to comment.

Did anyone else try them out this weekend, other than giving them a go at home??

We have just had two nights away on the Fat Airics and I thought they were superb! I woke once each night but that was to do with the cold and light and certainly not the bed. I will be getting two more for the children when I have the budget. They slept on borrowed Thermarest trail mats this time. Three mats for two of them.

I've spent the last 2 nights sleeping on my new Fat Airic in my new Outwell Nevada M

Fantastic! Dd even starting peeling layers off because she was too hot - I'd followed Mumsnet instructions and put a duvet underneath the airics. Completely lived up to my (high) expectations and I'll never go back to an airbed again.

VanillaPumpkin · 25/05/2009 18:26

Oh and the tip of leaving them inflated over night worked a treat. They puffed up very quickly on our camp and only needed a couple of puffs of air from me. Particularly impressive as mine did nothing when I took them out initially lol. I will be getting the Jaffa or lime ones for the dd's , not the boring practical kelp ones.

glastocat · 31/05/2009 23:05

We tested ours this weekend and thought they were totally fantastic - don't think I've ever been so comfy camping. Worth every penny I reckon.
