no

not ever again

except the first 3 weeks of August in Cornwall and Devon when it shall be scorchio

then rain again

fennel · 13/07/2007 20:40

It's crap isn't it? we keep cancelling camping trips and the conkers are even starting to fall here today, summer is going to be over before it stops raining.

sorry Lucycat, even in glorious Devon it's tipping it down.

southeastastra · 13/07/2007 20:47

you could try camping in north london, it's nice here

whoops · 13/07/2007 20:48

Whizzz · 13/07/2007 20:50

we are going camping next weekend-to a festival for which we have alrady bought tickets.

i was really hoping it would be cancelled and so we could get a refund, and not feel bad about not going.

just had an e-mail saying a site visit last week had said it was sound underfoot and so it wouldn't be cancelled.

how on earth are we going to pitch our tent in the rain, on mud?

octo · 13/07/2007 20:54

I am considering building an ark. I live on a hill so luckily have not been affected by floods but my veg have rotted in the ground and there is a queue at the doctors every monday morning for trenchfoot treatment.

We went camping 2 years ago and it rained all week - by the time we got the tent up we had puddles inside the tent/groundsheet - not fun at all Had to use all our towels to dry out the tent!

Whizzz · 13/07/2007 20:57

we need these

and one of these

Was planning on camping this weekend.
Have cancelled and am going to Legoland tomorrow instead.
Have been checking out websites for a last minuteholiday to the sun, cannot bear this rain much longer.

Beenleigh · 13/07/2007 21:01

Don't blame you, just had a week in the rain, and it was haaaaaaaard work!!!

octo · 13/07/2007 21:01

whizz - waterproof underwear - think you're onto something here ... and dh would love the pvc thing!

filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 13/07/2007 21:01

lol! have got the wellies and have got my disneyland poncho!!!

am worried about pithing the tent on a quagmire.

should we forfeit our £100 tickets and just stay home do you think?

Peachy · 13/07/2007 21:02

we havent cancelled yet, just go regardless, we always find a way to have fun (although keeping the noise down in a tent can be a struggle [wink}).

Octo- NEVER take full length trousers camping! We only ever take shorts, or 3 / 4 length trousers, which we tream with crocs or wellies. Its the only way to not get wet trouser bottome ime.

octo · 13/07/2007 21:02

meant day to day

Peachy · 13/07/2007 21:03

octo · 13/07/2007 21:15

I haven't bought any summer clothes this year at all! There was a giant banner outside tesco offering suncream at half price! They said in the spring it was going to be the hottest summer ever ....

(((taps foot impatiently)))

Biglips · 13/07/2007 21:16

it did mention that NEXT month the weather will pick up and Summer will start....but it wont be like last year...

Peachy · 13/07/2007 21:19

filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 13/07/2007 21:27

it's just so fucking dull as well isn't it?

same old same old every bloody day.

we should be sitting out in the garden with candles lit, sipping wine and instead it's like fucking october!

excuse my l;anguage but i am so bloody frustrated with it.

next thing it really will be october and then that's it for another bloody year
