DoubleBluff · 13/07/2007 21:48

It is so cold as well.

Whizzz · 13/07/2007 21:50

Peachy · 13/07/2007 21:51

Tell you what though, i am glad we booked a site with entertainment and facillities- its one in the eye for the just-a-field-please crowd isnt it, this weather?

octo · 13/07/2007 21:52

How much is a pitch? Book me in for the next 6 weeks please!!!

octo · 13/07/2007 21:53

Why people go to campsites with no facilities and kids I have no idea - you need showers, toilets, washing stuff and atleast a climbing frame.

octo · 13/07/2007 21:53

thats with kids and no facilities!

filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 13/07/2007 21:54

if only whizz-sigh

suspect it will be more like this

and quite frankly i'm getting too old for this shit

Peachy · 13/07/2007 21:55

we're off here on the 21st, would have been lovely in the sun- ah well.

At least my aprents, Dh and I can get pissed in the abr whilst the kids dance. Could be worse.

Whizzz · 13/07/2007 21:55

we can but dream......

filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 13/07/2007 21:55

looks lovely

Cloudhopper · 13/07/2007 21:56

I know. It was going to be the highlight of this summer that we were going to get away for quick breaks, but there has not been one chance.

I thought it was supposed to brighten up in the school hols though? (makes a change!)

octo · 13/07/2007 21:58

Looks great - have fun We went to Padstow a few weeks ago (in the rain) and had a great week - went surfing, swimming, horse riding, go karting and to Pendennis Castle. We didn;t go to the Eden Project as every man and his dog in his chavvy doggy overcoat was there avoiding the rain.

filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 14/07/2007 17:11

have contacted festival organisers and it's going ahead by hook or by crook.

dreading it now.

Lucycat · 14/07/2007 17:45

aaah you will still have a good time mmj, especially as you now have a new tent to play in!

at least you won't have to worry about suncream on the ds's.

Have you been to Decathlon and bought waterproof trousers?

Where is the festival?

LadyTophamSortingHatt · 14/07/2007 17:47

God, I hope so....don't mind if it rains once the tent is up but dreding it pissing down when we arrive or leave.

Peachy · 14/07/2007 18:44

festivals according to Dh (who sued to work at Glastonbury) are btter in the rain than the dry, more of a psirit of what-the-heck. He advises a sled instead of a buhhy LOL!

Lucycat · 14/07/2007 18:46

you drinking already peachy?

was what that typing!!

psst I'm seriously tempted by the Norfolk lake on offer at PJ Camping - 10% off this weekend.

I reckon I'd have to do about 7 days supply teaching to cover the cost..........

gawd talk me out of it will you!

Peachy · 14/07/2007 18:48

nah go for it! its only a few days after all (are you primary or secondary?)

No drinking, six year old climbing over me trying to erm, make me comfy with a cushion lol

Lucycat · 14/07/2007 18:50

secondary...for my sins!

you aren't helping me here...I'm meant to be saying it's tooe xpensive, we go away in a fornight and may not have chance to try it out first, it's bloody heavy, etc etc..

but I'm in serious lust...well at least with the pictures of it

and the thought of it...

Peachy · 14/07/2007 18:53

Sorry LOL, suposed to be doing PGCE secondary maybe 2008 or 2009 so was interested LOL

It IS bloody heavy! Extremely so! And you could get several other tents for the same cash and still have drinks money left over. You could have a Vail, and a few hundred quid spare for pitch fees for example.

Does that do the trick

Lucycat · 14/07/2007 18:58

mmm good try!

but i do like the zig (zipped in groundsheet lol) and the way it doesn't rustle in the wind, and it was cool in the sun and quite dark and it had cotton roll down curtains, the groundsheet felt really thick, you can open the door from the top to peep out.....oh I could go on!

We could use our side canopy on the front too so i could still cook outdoors.

Check out this one that's what we would do!

Peachy · 14/07/2007 19:01

Best groundsheets I ever came across were the Eurekaones axctually, amzingly solid! They are good on the lake range though. Nota s good mmind you- have you looked at the eureka range? they're also canvas. Now they are the tents to have!

So then me love, what am I supposed to say? Go for it or not?

hee hee

iot too much supply teaching in the next few weeks surely?

Lucycat · 14/07/2007 19:04

no Mr Visa would have to pay for it then I'd have to work like billyo in September to pay it off.

oh I dunno - maybe it's just cos the sun is shining that I've come over all tent crazy
