The nights are getting lighter, so surely it's about time to start seeing what stuff is new and essential this year! Have the bunting and fairy and fairy lights ;o) so what do I need this year?!

Abzs I'm very Envy of you working in an outdoor shop. Mind you, I'd be permanently skint if I did.

I bought the Outwell collapsible bowls last year and they are great. When DH used them to collect the takeaway frites and salad from the campsite cafe he said he had many admiring glances, and I'm pretty sure they were looking at the bowls, not DH.

Have you tried the kettle out? I am quite tempted but it is expensive so would have to be good.

I adore that snack table Cavey. If we had one though it would be filled with jellybabies and Doritos. Or it could be very handy for paints when I put DS's easel up in the garden...

Sadly, we are not allowed to actually fire up a stove and boil a kettle Sad

Sad That is probably infringing on your workers' rights Abzs. How can anyone be expected to work in an outdoor shop and not play with try out the gadgets all day?

I think I would like a Cobb. I described one to DH the other day and his response was surprisingly positive. He doesn't know how much they cost though.

Oooh this thread is really ramping up a gear now! Love the collapsible kettle and pots but although they seem fine far a gas stove I'm not so sure they would survive Mr Hillbilly's campfires!

I have everything I need already unfortunately but always open to new stuff.

I'm a bit worried about those pants. Is it for women with stress incontinence?
The plastic bite would be scratchy too!

I want a snack stand.

oh I want the stove too it's just that the snack stand is more achievable. if (when) I buy the snack stand I will have to smuggle it on board! we also took an electric kettle last year was v useful for tea
,hot water bottles and water for pasta,
rice etc

Those Pop&Go knickers look like the solution to a problem that nobody has ever had.

Report
troutsprout · 07/03/2013 13:42

Those knickers were in a top 10 of new camping gadgets for 2013. Hmm

If I was ever in a situation where I would be incluned to change my knickers without removing my trousers, I think my fist instinct would be to go home!
No showers?... Go home
Too cold ?.... Go home
Tent has mysteriously disappeared overnight and you have no belongings?...Go home

I think they are not for middle aged boring people like me. They are for young things trekking their way across somewhere or other .Or perhaps festival goers who are taking nothing with them.
Actually I'm still not sure who they are for

I know I must be being thick but I don't get how those pants work. When are you going to be in a position where it is too public to take your trousers off but not too public to be seen unpopping and yanking out an old pair of pants and writhing around in your trousers stuffing a new pair in, under your crotch and up and then popping them together again. Or am I over (or more likely under) thinking this?

Clearly I am also too old and stupid for them Confused
