Gawd, the minimalists will kill us.....

It was Someone Else's idea, all right?

Carry on where you left off, be it owls, bins, sharks, tins of vodka, karaoke etc. [grain]

I should imagine that if anyone read to see if they wanted to join in the utter MADNESS would see hem off! I mean ffs. We're decorating bins, talking about death socks and that is some of the saner conversation [grain]!

We're probably safe!

YellowDinosaur · 16/08/2011 19:00

hem??? then clearly

YellowDinosaur · 16/08/2011 19:00

aaarrrggghhh! theM

SeaShellsInTheMoonlight · 16/08/2011 19:00

Nah, we are probably like the newly formed Wolef's, the twilighters and the Nobdies-nobody can be bothered reading those threads as they are so full of in jokes and random stuff. Most of the rest of mn think we are mad anyway Grin

YellowDinosaur · 16/08/2011 19:01

Funtime thanks for the ready mixed gin tip. You wouldn't beleive it with all the typos but I actually haven't had any alchol AT ALL yet!

notwavingjustironing · 16/08/2011 19:01

"the gears hold no truck with such nonsense"

Google Translate: Germans ? Gin? bunting Grass ??

muchostinky · 16/08/2011 19:08

I do post on other camping threads, so I am hoping I am not too rudely interrupting?! [grain]

I recommend the smirnoff and apple by the way, was yum over crushed ice. Now I have a craving for a long vodka though, so I might have to go and find some angostura bitters.

Went to ikea yesterday for some bits and pieces, could have bought so much for our first trip away next week, but I suppose I should wait and check that everyone likes it before I get too much stuff.

Love slubbers reaction to her bin beautification! Lol Grin

winefairy · 16/08/2011 19:12

Ooops! I sometimes read this thread (when I can keep up) and posted originally (death socks time). I loved the fact it seemed friendly and was started as a backlash to usual MN nonsense!

lovecat · 16/08/2011 19:12

you and I, we've always been like that, notwaving

YellowDinosaur · 16/08/2011 19:12

Na muchostinkly what the first lesson is is that you can NEVER have too much STUFF! Certainly there is never ending research on STUFF to be done... [grain] Did you find the £1.01 fleece blankets in ikea?

ReshapeWhileDamp · 16/08/2011 19:18

God I wish we had a local Ikea. Rumours have been circulating of a new Reading one for about a decade. I have to bribe DH with sexual favours to get us driven to MK.

Tried to buy a doormat for the tent today but failed (rubbish local discount shop). Is that mad? A doormat for a tent? It isn't a half-moon coir one or anything I want, just something to keep the ick out.

notwavingjustironing · 16/08/2011 19:19

Yeah Lovecat that's us isn't it ? Grin

clever clever link though

notwavingjustironing · 16/08/2011 19:20

Reshape I got one for a pound in Asda!

OP posts:
muchostinky · 16/08/2011 19:21

I did find the bankers yellow, as I already have three that hang over the back of the sofas I only got one - black this time. Loads of nice melamine bowls and plates to be had too.

As this will probably be our only trip this year I have plenty of time to collect loads that probably won't fit in the car, next on my list is some find of cooking thing. I am dithering between tripod barbecue, a cobb or a Dutch oven. Decisions decisions!

muchostinky · 16/08/2011 19:23

Bankers? What the?! BLANKETS! lol

muchostinky · 16/08/2011 19:24

Chandler is my favourite - hubba hubba Blush Grin

ReshapeWhileDamp · 16/08/2011 19:30

... still watching Best of Chandler. [grain]

YellowDinosaur · 16/08/2011 19:31

Yep I'm after the cooking toys stuff too. Cobb def on my list along with iceytek, skillet for campfire cooking and some sort of campfire bbq set up. Also a tent. Ours is rubbish. Just a short list then!

Liking the friends link lovecat [grain]

Reshape was going to post the same s notwaving - for stuff like that Asda is your best friend!

notwavingjustironing · 16/08/2011 19:33

Do you think we have all morphed into one truly amazing mind?

OP posts:
winefairy · 16/08/2011 19:43

Just posted this on other thread but Cobb and tripod bbq next on my wishlist! Have the Icey Tek now (just).

In my case, I read these camping threads, click on the links and immediately want everything. I am beyond help!!

ChippyMinton · 16/08/2011 19:45

OOH OOH did I see Slubber up-thread?

ChippyMinton · 16/08/2011 19:51

LOL at all the folk posting typos from their 'smart' phones Gin

Funtimewincies · 16/08/2011 19:53

notwaving - a truly scary thought Shock.

Hello and welcome to winefairy and mucho Smile.

''I should imagine that if anyone read to see if they wanted to join in the utter MADNESS would see hem off! I mean ffs. We're decorating bins, talking about death socks and that is some of the saner conversation [grain]!''

We're probably safe!so why do i feel so at home here?

lovecat · 16/08/2011 20:08

Ahh, you're one of us, Filthy :o

Foxes were my fave animal when I was a kid :), then I moved to inner London and had to put up with the furry little bastards ripping my rubbish bags open and digging holes under my shed... still think they look beautiful, tho.

Funtime, I asked this on the 1st thread but I think it got missed in the general mayhem - how quickly does your trangia cook stuff/boil water? When I took mine away last my BIL was openly pointing and laughing at me for taking 15 mins to boil a kettle... what am I doing wrong?
