Calorie-counting

Cambridge Day 2

Wondered if anyone is just starting the Cambridge 1:1?

I’ve got 4.5 stone to lose to get back to my pre-baby weight. My baby is nearly 6 years old 😂

I’m on step 1b (4 products a day). Really enjoying it so far.

I’ve hidden my scales and will just do weigh ins with my consultant once a week. I’ve also bought a 2 litre water bottle.

Taking it 1 day at a time 😊

Hi @snowlady4 - I’ll update when I do my first weigh in early next week. I’m doing the calorie restriction as well as intermittent fasting

Good luck. Also doing calorie counting not Cambridge but I know people who have done it and been successful in losing weight. Yes most regained it but so did I after losing 24lbs in 2020-21 as I ate too much again after I stopped!

Hi @Zanatdy I regained too after doing fast800 in 2020 🤦🏼‍♀️ Lost 35 lbs and regained 35 lbs. It started with “just this little can of Coke won’t hurt”. Self sabotage. I’m focussed on maintenance step this time, as last time I only thought about being a particular weight, not staying a particular weight if that makes sense.

Yay a Cambridge friend 👏 Hi @clpsmum - how are you finding it so far?

I’m so happy to products take all the thinking and cooking away from dieting 😂 Day 4 for me today and I had trace ketones first thing this morning, which is when hunger lessens and fat burning starts.

Great sounds like you're in ketosis. I'm not yet but working on it!

Same. I was last at my target weight around May 2022.. determined to be there come May 2024. Only on week one but feeling in the zone for it!
I did toy with the idea of Cambridge so I'm interested to follow this thread and see people's results.

good luck! It’s so hard isn’t it, but I’m feeling in the zone. Hoping next week will be a little easier than this weeks been, especially after all that Christmas eating, been a complete shock to the system this week

I have been doing Cambridge 1.1 for almost a year. I have only done step 3 the whole journey as that is what suited me. It took me around 6/7 months to lose 5 stone. I have now lost just under 6 stone and I am at target weight and maintaining. I plan to keep going to see my consultant to keep me on the right track. I also still have one product a day as this fits in with my day.

Good luck to everyone starting this diet. It really can work.

@Londonnight thanks for sharing your experience!! That’s such an amazing loss, well done 👏

Day 5 today. I went out to dinner for a family birthday last night, ate nothing and drank water 🤦🏼‍♀️😆 I couldn’t get out of it unfortunately, but I’m now becoming a hermit and declining any invites to eat 😂 In ketosis properly this morning, which means I’m not actually hungry.

Happy Sunday!!

I actually don't mind dieting.. seeing the numbers go down on the scale.. It's maintaining I struggle with, once you know longer have that goal.. or the bigh of seeing the results!
Good luck to you too!

Hi - just checking in. Day 9 today. My hunger has vanished!! I went to Aldi earlier and I’d normally be choosing crisps/biscuits/chocolate to scoff. Today I didn’t buy anything like that.

My week 1 weigh in was 5.5 lbs down. Really happy with that. I feel happier, clearer head somehow and excited about next week’s weigh in….

I’ve also started shopping for smaller clothes to stash for next couple of months. Very premature, but found some good sale bargains 😂

Hi, I'm on day 13 of 1:1. Lost 8 pounds this week but haven't lost anything this week. My consultant said you don't really go into ketosis with it. I'll admit I don't know enough about ketosis but how do you know when you are in it?

PercyPea · 14/01/2024 18:59

Hi @smarty4 - I use Ketostix I bought on Amazon. I’m doing intermittent fasting as well as 1:1 and was on ketosis around day 5.

Day 12 today. I’ve resisted all sorts of kid’s birthday party treats earlier. I normally would have devoured them 😂

Just remembered about this thread. Finishing day 22. I’m so happy on this plan. I just have to eat the 4 things I’ve chosen for the day, no other thinking required 😂 And drink 3 litres of water.

I should be at my goal weight by end April and my dream goal weight by end May.

Day 38. The weeks are flying by!! I’ve stuck to the plan religiously.

I’ve lost 18 lbs. Mostly fat. Measurements and clothes feel looser. Size 16 now too big and comfortably fitting into my size 14 jeans and tops 😊

I am having to be antisocial though 😂 Only another 3 months I think to get back into my pre-baby size 8s. Started planning a new capsule wardrobe. Can’t wait to get rid of my awful clothes. Determined not to buy any inbetween sizes though. Will just keep wearing wfh clothes whilst I’m dieting and hibernating 😂

How are you doing @Mintyt? It gets much easier after the first 4/5 days!!

Today is day 43 for me. Still cooking for DH and DCs and shopping for parties etc. Not tempted to cheat so far. Well, I did think about a packet of mini eggs I saw yesterday, but then realised that I’d feel happy for 1 minute and then berate myself massively, so I didn’t cave 😂

Lost 22lbs at 6 week weigh in. Feel great 😊 Should hopefully get back into my pre baby size 8 jeans in May… I know I’ll plateau at some point, but it’s a short term mission for long term gain.

@PercyPea I'm finding it ok, but mentally I was ready I lost 6lbs in my 1st week but doesn't seem real yet. I too am cooking for my H but it's nice not thinking about food. I like the soups and bars. Hopefully this works.

I love fruit & nut bars!! And original porridge. And the choc shake… it doesn’t feel like a hardship as those all taste delicious 😂

Hi all, hoping to join you for the journey! I'm on week 2...flew through week 1, so motivated. Lost 10 lbs.

Totally off the wagon this week. Back to it tomorrow, weigh in Monday morning.

@PercyPea you have done so, so well. I really admire you for sticking it out...it's the only way! How does intermittent fasting work alongside the 1:1?

I have just over 4 stone to lose & as much as possible of that by 25th of May when I have a big family occasion.

Going to stick to my 4 products religiously now & just get this done & look forward to weigh day every week!!

You'll definitely be in your size 8 jeans by May!!

@mintytea how are you doing?

Thanks @JoeyBK 😊

I’m on day 60 today. The time has flown by!! I was 2 stone down at my 8 week weigh in, which is a fantastic loss. Main benefit though is that I feel amazing!! So much energy and my head is clearer.

I bought size 14 trousers a couple of weeks ago and they’re now loose 😂 I’d hoped I’d get away without buying anything till I’m finished, but my size 16 work trousers were nearly falling off 🤭

Keep going, stay focussed!!

I’m convinced the intermittent fasting is a massive help for fat burning too. Miraculously I’ve managed to keep my boobs so far and lose mainly from my waist, but also hips and thighs. Body composition scan shows most of the loss is fat and a little muscle. I’ve increased my water content, which I’m pleased with.

Keep drinking water too. Over past few days I’ve been a bit lax and only had just over 2 litres. Now making a conscious effort to get over 3 litres a day.

Really pleased to have some others to share journey with. My next big occasion is a holiday in 5.5 weeks!! Hoping to be down 3 and a bit stone by then.

@Londonnight @Mintyt @Zanatdy @clpsmum @smarty4 @snowlady4

Just thought I’d ask how everyone is getting on? Would love to hear if anyone has moved up steps yet.

I’m still on 1b until near end of March. A bit scared of moving up!! I think I’ll do step 2 for a couple of weeks then and go back to 1b for the week of my holiday. I don’t want to ruin all of the progress so far by going mad on hols 🙈
