Lost 5 stone last year, gained back two - starting fresh today! Anyone want to join?

I lost 5 stone last year through calorie counting and 16:8 (eating in an 8 hour window). I went from 16st 9lbs to 11st 5. Unfortunately the back end of last year was very stressful and adding Christmas to the mix I'm now 13st 5lbsSad

Does anybody want to join me in calorie counting? I'm aiming for 1,200 cals a day, plenty of walking and a treat day every Tuesday (I ate a large dominoes each week which kept me on track and didn't hinder my loss at all)

Hi all

Just checking in, hope everyone is okay.

SW- 11 st 6lbs
CW - 11st 2lbs
GW - 9st 7lbs

Slowly coming off, but I'm happy with that. I've been meaning to do more exercise but the weather has been rubbish, so hoping to get out and do long walks this week.

Keep going everyone, we can do this!

Nojetter welcome to the thread Smile

The same! Again!
10.25lbs in 28 days
Weighed in earlier but got involved in the Big Garden Birdwatch and forgot to post.

stealthninjamum · 01/02/2021 09:00

Welcome nojetter that’s a great weight loss.

I slipped off the wagon a bit this weekend, I got into old habits of eating the food from dcs plates and we had a curry although I tried to be careful. I find weekends hard because dc’s dad often doesn’t pick dc up - or one child announces they don’t want to see him - so I can’t really meal plan. Too often we have a takeaway or something out of the freezer that’s not particularly nutritious.

Anyway I am going to weigh myself Wednesda and hopefully the weekend won’t have made a difference.

132orbust · 01/02/2021 20:26

So late to the party but weigh in was first thing:
Day 29
SW:151
CW:140.75
GW:132
The same! Again! How??
10.25lbs in 29 days

BootsieBarnes · 01/02/2021 20:45

123 are you eating enough? sounds odd but sometimes a little increase in calories (good calories) makes my body relax and let go of more fat. Don't know if there is any science in it but works for me.

132orbust · 01/02/2021 20:54

Sadly I am @BootsieBarnes. I am sticking to 16:8 every day but I am easing up a bit on what I eat at weekends.
I would be less surprised if I went up a 0.5lb. It is just the fact that for the last 4 mornings when I got on the scales I was the exact same!
Tomorrow will be the day - I feel it Wink

BootsieBarnes · 02/02/2021 06:51

123 fingers crossed for today!

132orbust · 02/02/2021 08:15

Yay!!!!
Day 30
SW:151
CW:140.5
GW:132
I know it is just 0.25lb but it is a step in the right direction again.
10.5lbs in 30 days.
Onwards and inwards

BootsieBarnes · 02/02/2021 14:43

132 whoop whoop!!! Well done Flowers

132orbust · 03/02/2021 08:50

Thanks @BootsieBarnes
Well I cannot believe this (I weighed myself twice to check!). After getting stuck for what felt like ages and then a small loss yesterday which I was so pleased about:
Day 31
SW:151
CW:139.75
GW:132
So 0.75lb since yesterday!
11.25lbs in 31 days
Now I know that I might be up a bit tomorrow but I am happy to be 9 stone something for even a day knowing I'll get back there again.
Downside means I probably should stick with Dry Jan a bit longer.....

BootsieBarnes · 03/02/2021 18:21

I did a cheeky weigh in yesterday which I promised myself I wouldn't do but hey ho! Anyway I've lost a pound!

SW 11st 6lbs
CW 11st 1lb
GW 9st 7lbs

I will be so happy when I punch through that 11 stone mark as I will then know this is possible Smile

132orbust · 03/02/2021 21:44

Well done @BootsieBarnes. You are getting so close to the 10 stone something mark.
Onwards and inwards we go!

132orbust · 04/02/2021 09:33

Day 32
SW:151
CW:139.50
GW:132
So 0.25lb off.
11.5lbs in 32 days
Very surprised to have another small loss today as I was preparing myself for a slight gain after a decent sized dinner last night.
So what is working? 16:8, Dry Jan into still dry Feb, smaller portions bulked out with lots of vegetables, less treats and really enjoying them rather than stuffing them in.
This is all so I can comfortably fit into some clothes I love and have had for anywhere between 2 and 15 years. I will start at the newer end this weekend and see how far I have got.
Have a great day everyone.
Onwards and inwards.

132orbust · 04/02/2021 10:03

Shout out for an update to OP @zeromango @GoLightlyontheEarth @ChickenNugget86 @beckslovestimmy
@Evileyecherry and anyone else I have forgotten.
It has gone very quiet on here.

stealthninjamum · 04/02/2021 10:15

Well done bootsie and 132! Awesome work.

I am struggling here but still determined to do this. I always knew it would be hard to do this with dc at home but I won’t give up.

I weighed myself yesterday and had stayed the same. I am still managing to have a healthy breakfast but for the first couple of weeks of this I was doing separate meals for me and the kids. I tend to cook from scratch for all of us but I need to find more short cuts and buy more ready made stuff. So rather than make soup I need to have tins in the cupboard.

132orbust · 04/02/2021 10:37

Well done on staying the same @stealthninjamum, anything that isn't a gain is a win.
It is hard having the DC at home if you are having to cook for them. My two are 16 and 19 so make a lot of the meals and I can stay away from the kitchen. I eat a lot of soup and also lots of the 2 minute porridge with fruit. Both are very easy lunches which means I am only having to really think about dinner if it is my day to make it. Even something as simple as pesto pasta can be made a lot healthier with the addition of green beans, broccoli and sugar snap peas with my portion heavier on the veg than everyone else's. Hang in there and it will be worth it. Here's a cheering Daffodil to let us know that spring is coming and days when we can be out of door for hours and the pounds fall off!

stealthninjamum · 04/02/2021 11:04

Thank so 132 mine are 10 and 12 and eating six times a day which doesn’t help. For snacks they’re getting oat cakes, rice cakes and apples and I am being really restrained not eating the oatcakes or rice cakes because my fear is if I eat one I will eat them all.

Will fill supermarket basket up now with soup and porridge and more readymeals for dc.

132orbust · 06/02/2021 10:13

Good plan @stealthninjamum and get them both cooking - simple things now but it will stand you and them in good stead as the years go on.
Day 34
SW:151
CW:139.75
GW:132
So 0.25lb on
11.25lbs in 34 days
Well that's a great reward for having walked nearly 10 miles on my Fitbit and eaten well - 0.25lb on.
Oh well, mostly going in the right direction

beckslovestimmy · 06/02/2021 13:29

Well I've got no where!! I've had enough and I've decided I'm gonna do meal replacement shakes for 2-4 weeks. I need to break the cycle of stuffing my big fat face!!!

I know meal replacement is not a long term sustainable option but I'm hoping it will kick start me in the right direction. I will have a Shake breakfast and lunch and then dinner with the family in the evening. If I really feel I need a snack it will be fruit.

I think it's being delivered tues so will start it properly on the Wednesday, weighing in before hand.

HappyThursdays · 06/02/2021 17:22

Hello all and apologies for absence! Thought I had just a bad cold but turned into a nasty chest infection (not Covid!) then couldn't get to see a Gp, ended up on antibiotics and only today for the first time do I feel vaguely normal!

I have been eating absolute rubbish - mainly dp feeling sorry for me being ill and buying a whole load of crap in!

Have told him the diet starts again on Monday.

He has about 25kg to lose (is aiming for 10kg first) which is about 20% of his weight and I have about 12.5% to lose. We do it in % so we can keep each other motivated!

I lost a load of weight a few years ago and what I'm trying to lose now is the weight I've put on in lockdown argh!

Sounds like you're all doing really well x

HappyThursdays · 06/02/2021 17:23

@beckslovestimmy I do find the shakes help kick start everything. It's like your tummy shrinks!

beckslovestimmy · 06/02/2021 18:25

That's what I'm hoping for @HappyThursdays, Husbands on board too for some healthier evening meals. Extra challenge is I've got no cooker as we're having an extension built.

132orbust · 08/02/2021 11:36

Day 36
SW:151
CW:141.75
GW:132
So 1b on
10.25lbs in 36 days
Good Lord I am not sure what I ate, well I am sure what I ate but still...
Anyway it is Monday so need to knock the gains off and get going again.
Yesterday was a very lazy day which will not have helped.
Hang in there everyone.
Onwards and inwards.

beckslovestimmy · 08/02/2021 12:13

Day 1
CW 15st 10.2lb

I started with some slim fast shakes today and my order of protein shakes is coming today. I think I'll do shake for breakfast and lunch, normal dinner with the family and 1-2 100 cal snacks of fruit and a 100 cal 'treat in the evening. I will increase my water consumptions and try to walk more.

poppym12 · 08/02/2021 12:34

Hello, can I join please?

I began on 1st Jan, 1200 calories per day logging everything on mfp. The first few pounds came off easily (as expected) but now I'm just stuck and I can't understand why.

I lost 14lb from 1st January to 1st February but since then, nothing. In fact, I've gained a pound Angry.

I have a lot of weight to lose, almost 5stone. I was always fit, healthy and slim but a debilitating illness seems to have ended all that and I'm just disgusted with myself. I'm very limited exercise wise so being very careful what I'm eating. I don't eat much during the day and have my mail meal around 6pm.
