They have asked her in so they can all go through the CCTV footage and she can explain what happened and when but she has refused to meet them.

She is also not taking their calls.

The bus company had already apologised and issued a statement before the CCTV was looked at. If they had wanted to deny the story they would have done so from the beginning. I should imagine it would be easy to verify by talking to other passengers.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/02/2010 16:21

the fact amy/7days is refusing their calls etc does make her seem guilty and she lied

if that happened on a bus i was on, i would certainly say something

i know many people dont want to butt in/interfere etc but surely one person would have come forward and said, yes i was on the bus, but i didnt say anything at the time as was embarrassed/didnt want attention etc

Aussieng · 27/02/2010 19:36

Don't know whether I hope this story is actually true or not! Either way I found it very upsetting to read - either this type of dscrimination is going on or someone is preying on the fears of bf mums by making it up.

Carrots or anyone else who know anything about the operation of England's sexual discrimintation laws re bf mums what is the redress for bf mums who are treated this way on public transport or in shops or cafes etc> The £2k compensation seems to be only in Scotland - is it possible to claim compensation in England under the provisions which we have> I ask only so that I can be prepared with my threats retorts if I ever have any experiences like this when bf.

tw888 · 27/02/2010 20:16

i would definitely stay and let him call the police and continue BF!!

FatherJack · 27/02/2010 23:08

becksydee......thank you so much for the contact at MIND, Paul Farmer emailed me this evening and is taking the matter very seriously indeed.

Cheers !!!

becksydee · 27/02/2010 23:50

good, pleased to hear it

It would appear that she really did make it up. The CCTV footage shows the time she got on the bus and the time and place she got off, which was at her usual stop. She did not talk to the driver at all.

I should imagine she is suffering from some form of depression and hope she gets the help she needs. Having had her face in most of the national papers and now being outed as a liar is going to make any mental condition so much more worse.

I feel for her.

LittleMrsHappy · 06/03/2010 09:44

She needs to be outed for her idiotic lies, what did she think this lie would achieve? it would make already apprehensive mother who wants to BF outside, even more apprehensive, due to her lies and idiotic behaviour! It does nothing to promote the cause of breastfeeding, just "promotes" it in a negative and nasty way!

Also this man could have lost her job, due to her nastiness and lies!

Even if she has MH problems, it's not a excuse for her to lie and hurt people through her lies!

nappyaddict · 06/03/2010 21:20

No it's not an excuse but some people can't help it. It is unfortunately a symptom of their illness which they must try to control. (Not saying she has an illness, just generally speaking)
