Unusual ways and places to breastfeed.. Where have you?

I thought i'd start this as I am finding that i am ending up feeding ds2 inj all sorts of places and situations that i never thought i would or could.

Latest one was on a walk through the forest, had to head back to get ds1 from school and so had to feed on the go. My friend took pic as she thought was one for the album! I managed not to crash the buggy either and ds2 fell asleep!

Have fed many times in shops now, sat on display sofa or when sorting blind order. Fed in school playground when he was tiny (that wasnt good.. lots of little ones asking lots of questions and ds2 got upset)
Fed sat on many benches, logs, pieces of grass. Often in the car (stationary ). In the bath every night almost too.

I never thought would have the confidence i do now but as he has gotten older i have got more confidence as well.

Also he does acrobatics now, climbing on me whilst attached.. ouch.

Loving it though

In DH's office, with his pint sized (female) boss standing right next to my chest, staring at my norks, murmuring, "Oh, I do love to watch babies feed". I mean, what do you say???

In my Ph.D. viva.

walking up the local high st when ds was about a week old! planes, airports, coffee shops, restaurants, hanging over thge car seat-with my seatbelt still done up whilst stuck in traffic(in the back seat-dp was driving!!) on the beach, driving around the safari park on top of the reichstag! was freezing! can't think of anywhere else though! don't think that's too bad considering i didn't think i'd ever be brave enough to do it in public!!

Whilst sawing an oak shop counter in half. It wasn't that easy. Your breast moves when you move your arm. Went a bit wonky tbh.

back of a tractor.

tassisssss · 14/03/2009 20:51

church services often, wedding ceremonies, while being served in Halfords, on a giant bouncy pillow, during parents meetings at school and while on an interview panel!!

The one that most stands out is in a carpet shop in Tunisia.

Had only gone in to have a look but of course Tunisian carpet salesman extarordinaire started his patter and getting his minions to roll out carpets for us whilst pressing mint tea on us.

DD2 woke up hungry and I suggested that we leave so that I could feed her. Mr Salesman insisted that we stay, ushered us into comfy room full of cushions, and left us in peace. We stayed a while enjoying the air conditioning and the tea, I fed DD2 and we left thanking them profusely and without a carpet

I've been in a couple of situations with Arab men trying to sell me carpets and they are very very good at it. It seems though that they can't bring themselves to do their hard sell on a breast feeding women though.

Worst was definitely the car park of McDonalds in Bow (East London) late on a Sunday night. Runner up is ironically pulled up on the pavement alongside the A12 just off the same junction for Bow McDonalds a couple of weeks later whilst waiting for 45 mins for the Blackwall tunnel to reopen. Oh joy!!

Sitting cross legged on the platform of London Bridge tube station.
At the hairdressers (under the gown).
In front of the bank manager whilst trying to open a savings account for the selfsame baby.

And I have pumped and dumped on the bank of the Seine whilst on my first ever day away from the baby - a girls day out in Paris.

tassisssss · 14/03/2009 21:52

oh and while having my eyes tested at the opticians

kathryn2804 · 14/03/2009 21:57

On the London Eye, that was definitely a good view!

BoffinMum · 14/03/2009 23:56

Round the back of the main Registry Office in Istanbul, being stared at by a load of restaurant workers having a fag out the back of their building.

Surreal.

treedelivery · 14/03/2009 23:59

Choosing fruit in the aisle of Asda. I stuffed her up my jumper. Not quite as exotic as yours BoffinMum!

BoffinMum · 15/03/2009 00:00

Cheers, Treedelivery. You have to bear in mind as well that pg/latating women barely leave the house over there.

treedelivery · 15/03/2009 00:04

You may have started a revolution.

I did answer the door to the postman last week with boob hanging out and no babe in arms to explain myself. I just forgot to put it away.

Poor bloke nearly fainted. He's cute too.

BoffinMum · 15/03/2009 00:08

LOL treedelivery. That is truly excellent.

treedelivery · 15/03/2009 00:14

Was only last week. Still when he approaches door.

Am going to keep popping up on threads to keep that crazy poster off the top of the active list.

In the park next to the Eiffel Tower in Paris. In March. It was cold!

BoffinMum · 15/03/2009 11:39

Thinking about the cold, why is it that willies shrink in the cold yet nipples pop out more?? They appear to be made from the same kind of bodily tissue ...

Willies shrink because of keeping sperm at optimal temperature and nipples go hard for the same reason you get goose bumps.
