Unusual ways and places to breastfeed.. Where have you?

I thought i'd start this as I am finding that i am ending up feeding ds2 inj all sorts of places and situations that i never thought i would or could.

Latest one was on a walk through the forest, had to head back to get ds1 from school and so had to feed on the go. My friend took pic as she thought was one for the album! I managed not to crash the buggy either and ds2 fell asleep!

Have fed many times in shops now, sat on display sofa or when sorting blind order. Fed in school playground when he was tiny (that wasnt good.. lots of little ones asking lots of questions and ds2 got upset)
Fed sat on many benches, logs, pieces of grass. Often in the car (stationary ). In the bath every night almost too.

I never thought would have the confidence i do now but as he has gotten older i have got more confidence as well.

Also he does acrobatics now, climbing on me whilst attached.. ouch.

Loving it though

Oh, reading this has brought back so many more

On a packed comuter train
On the Eurostar
In the grounds of Versaille
On a river boat on the Sienne (we stood under the Eifell tower but didn't go up - when were you there, TheButterflyEffect?)
Any number of carparks and cafes...

SnowlightMcKenzie · 13/03/2009 18:11

On a step in the church grounds during heavy snow

In a meeting with the bank manager

At the checkout in tescos

In a rowing boat

At a rugby match

My favourite is while interviewing potential employees in a pub. Two interviews for the same job and both continued answering my questions and met my eyes

I've done the leaning over the changing table at the pool thing too (frequently - although these days he does it sitting up so I can avoid the backache)

sassafrassj · 13/03/2009 18:39

My most recent favorite was when DS2 had ski boots and skis on. He just wanted a quick snort of milk and I couldn't be bothered to take his skis off. Mine were off.

I had a prof who BFd her son during class when the babysitter couldn't calm him down any other way.

In a side pew during a candlelit Advent Carol Service. No one noticed and DD was kept quiet. She was over 1 I think so it might have been peturbing for some but we had got very good at cover bf by then

LynetteScavo · 13/03/2009 20:34

On a park bench while squirals ran around me an a zillion japanese tourist took my photo While having my hair dyed..the young &trendy hairdresser was not amused......while choosing wedding dress/accessories (bridal shops are great places to bf I found)...at my wedding.......while playing musical bumps(my 4yo wouldn't join in with out me at a party)....while waterskiing.

(Actually I made the last one up)

nickschick · 13/03/2009 20:43

I fed ds1 on the bus....on the town hall steps,in maccys,in the haemotology dept, doctors surgery, and even at dinner with friends - one male friend was sayinh how he found feeding absultely embarassing and never knew where to look - dh said 'well dees feeding baby N right now and youve been chatting to her and not realised'

Rascal1979 · 13/03/2009 21:56

Loads but here are a few...

At my sisters graduation - once sat on the floor surrounded by about 300 + people then actually during the ceremony -sttod up for the entrance and everything

Hanging over the car seat on our way back from France.

Through the entire service of a friend's wedding - to ensure DD was quiet at what was supposed to be a baby free wedding! - at same wedding the videographer asked me to say a piece on camera for the wedding video....whilst I was breast feeding and he didn't even notice!

Another personal favourite is actaully a friends' BF expereince. She bf her ds as he was having a lumbar puncture carried out to calm him down - Dr was giving her so very odd looks as she contorted herself to get her boob in DS mouth

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 13/03/2009 22:10

In numerous cafes, restaurants etc.

At a christening.

Standing at the back of a concert.

On the Channel Tunnel.

In an estate agent in France while discussing which properties my Dad wanted to go and look at.

In a swimming pool - no idea whether that's even allowed but my boobs were about to burst so it was either DS feed or me leak milk into the pool!!

Today, on his first birthday (yay me!), at a proper beardy-weirdy real ale beer festival in a room of forty-odd 60yr old blokes . Felt like saying 'his is a pint, too!'

LouiseAnn · 13/03/2009 22:30

I have fed ds3 many times in school governors' meetings and church meetings. With ds1 I didn't feed him in church services. With ds2 I fed him in church when I needed to. With ds3 I plan to feed him in church each week. It seems a good use of time.

In cafes of course. It's a good excuse for coffee and cake.

I haven't done it anywhere exciting. There is time though.....

Dillydaydreamer · 14/03/2009 00:56

Well done for getting the confidence
I did on slip roads during a long car journey when I had to drive it. Car parks, woods, benches, cubicles, swimming pool, sat on the floor at soft play etc. Where ever she needed feeding she got fed LOL.

Dillydaydreamer · 14/03/2009 00:58

I did Marwell zoo by the lions LOL and at a friends baby naming cremony as dd2 was particularly noisy!

plusonemore · 14/03/2009 06:48

neighbourhood watch meeting

babyphat · 14/03/2009 11:24

the tropical conservatory at Kew Gardens
in the Home Office, round the corner from the Home Secretary's office
in the Treasury
cafes, pubs and restaurants
trains
a park bench

Lullaboo · 14/03/2009 12:46

Wow some fab places, have to indulge and add my own!

when dd3 was 3 mths old during healine slot of the Verve at Glasonbury festival 2008, was a bit chilli tho....

LynetteScavo · 14/03/2009 14:18

I'm suprised no one has come along and said how "dangerous some of these places to bf are"

Undoing you seatbelt to feed your baby, and taking a baby into a tropical conservatroy?? All very dangerous things to do y'know.

pagwatch · 14/03/2009 14:24

on the boundary at the Oval. It was the day Devon Malcolm took out the whole South African team on his own and DS bit down every time the crowd cheered [yikes emoticon]

The start of the 100m at Crystal Palace. This time DS bit down when the gun went [ditto].
In Tate Modern. Standing up on a packed commuter train. In every cafe/rest we have been to whilst DCs have been breastfeeding age. The Louvre.
Thats all I can think of....

NicknameAlreadyTaken · 14/03/2009 14:42

when she was around 6mo - standing at the hob and holding DD with one arm (not in a sling or something) while she was BF to sleep and slicing an apple with another hand, making and baking an apple pie. She fell asleep and the pie was a success.

in a taxi, airport, on a plane, train, etc

at the dinner table in the middle of a meal, and DD then went back to her whatever-it-was

next to an almost 3yo niece who demanded to be fed too (my sister weaned her at about 2 and a half)
