LOL something i heard today from an older lady to a new mummy!! She was saying she did try and BF baby but found she wasnt producing enough so was expressing to get her levels up but commented shes now FF. Lady said "oh well SMAs the sme as BM anyway" it took all my control not to go into a hissy fit
was also concerned as mum of LO said she has tried 3 different types of milk!

its was a passing comment, not like i got on here and said OMG, mum is FF, never tried BF ecyt. U dont have to read threads, move on, nothing for you to be concerned about...

It's quite likely that when the old lady was bringing up her kids formula was the New Thing and supposedly vastly superior to breastmilk. I expect it was just a soothing - if erroneous - comment meant in kindness. She was hardly going to hand her a card for the LLL.

I doubt that she was the only source of information available to the mum. So i don't find it -inducing, nor does it make me angry.

it wasn't high energy SMA anyway, it was Infanti from the chemist, that the hospital gave me.

I give my Ds2 formula, I had to as he had sereve failure to thrive, and he has a top up of formula once a day. He is 10.5 months old and weighes 16lb, but I am not ashamed to admit that he has formula too, why should I be?? I have no problem with formula, after all if there was no formula babies would die.
