Gold Breastmilk Necklace that isn't £££+

fr4zzledmum · 08/06/2025 17:16

I'm so proud of myself for managing to breastfeed for 1 month with my second (I combine fed with formula and pumped, and never managed anything post day 2 with my first). Might not be much to some but I'm buzzing.

I have 2 syringes of cholostrum left that I never got around to feeding him (he's 10 months now) - never had a stash as I was a pump and feeder.

I'd really like a necklace pendant made. Gold in colour, as this tends to be what I wear, but doesn't need to be gold in metal (or can be low carat). I'm struggling to find anywhere that does nice looking, but cheaper necklaces. Totally get how lovely they are and we'll made but can't justify £400-600. I'm happy spending about £200.

Anyone have any recommendations at all?

LOL at the semen engagement ring. I actually think that's a better idea than the breastmilk necklace.

MarxistMags · 08/06/2025 21:47

Is it just me, but I'm thinking yuck ?

Cjsguie5 · 08/06/2025 21:55

No recommendations but I think it's a lovely idea - congratulations!

Alwayslikethis · 08/06/2025 21:56

That’s grim

LividVermiciousKnid · 08/06/2025 22:01

I thought it was grim before I had a boob obsessed baby and all of a sudden I didn’t.

I got a yellow gold ring made with glass, not resin and I didn’t want to have to take it off in the bath.

Made by Precious By Kerry.

Y’all who think it’s gross, meh, move on. Mine looks like an opal and I love it.

ttccd21 · 08/06/2025 22:06

I personally think all the grown women bullying a stranger on a parenting forum is far more gross

Snugglemonkey · 08/06/2025 22:10

I have 3 charms made by Precious by Kerry. One plain milk, one with silver flakes and one with gold. They are lovely and I wear them on a bracelet every day. Kerry is really lovely and very helpful.

Just stopping by to say well done OP, you must feel so chuffed! And I think the examples linked look beautiful, very pretty.

It’s sad you’ve had some silly replies. Never fails to amaze me how parochial people can be. If you can’t think beyond your own narrow views, then at least don’t be mean, not hard is it?

fr4zzledmum · 08/06/2025 22:16

Aydeeaichdee · 08/06/2025 20:54

That sounds very grim.

Why not just buy a nice necklace to mark the occasion?

Does your engagement ring have semen in it? 😅

Semen and breastmilk aren't quite comparable.

Why are people so squeamish about breastmilk? Are all these posters saying it's "grim" old men who come from a generation when breastmilk and breastfeeding were taboos?
Breastmilk gives life. It's immeasurably precious. For some, breastfeeding is one of the hardest things you can ever do. What's so wrong with commemorating a month of hard work to give your baby life and health?

Aydeeaichdee · 08/06/2025 22:19

It is grim! I breastfed 5 children!

Its a bodily fluid, thats why its grim. If it was blood or spit or any other body fluid I would feel the same.

Its an amazing achievement.

Milk is not comparable to blood or spit.

GoodVibesHere · 08/06/2025 22:34

Breastfeeding is natural but using a putrid old blob of colostrum to create a pendant is a bit peuk, and the self-worship of having your own bodily fluids dangling from your neck is quite cringey. I wonder what the next idea will be. Maybe a charm bracelet with bits of placenta and fosilised cord stump for charms.

Hohofortherobbers · 08/06/2025 22:48

What a talking point at a dinner party.
'Nice pendent!'
'Yes it has the colostrum in it I expressed, froze, then couldn't bear to chuck out 10 months later, I'm so proud!' Confused

Thatsrhesummeroverthen · 08/06/2025 23:06

Lots of people put baby hair (or any loved one's hair, really) in lockets. Not the same as breast milk, but closer to breast milk than it is to semen.
You dont have to announce what it is to people. I have jewellery that marks miscarriages, but I don't tell other people what is is willy nilly.

Totally this.

Did the OP ask if she was unreasonable to want this? Because I thought she asked where to get one.

This.
Ignore the nasty bullying op
I also have some breastmilk frozen and I want to get one, I'm proud of my efforts too and I don't have an engagement ring (well I do, in a drawer) so I want something special to wear X

I agree

Christwosheds · 08/06/2025 23:16

Is the milk encapsulated, eg does it still flow inside the glass, or is it somehow incorporated into the resin/glass medium ? Does it not degrade over time if it’s the former ?

IkeaMeatballGravy · 08/06/2025 23:16

How many of you getting all squeamish about breastmilk jewellery drank cow breastmilk today? Grow up and scroll on.

MaggieBsBoat · 08/06/2025 23:24

I breastfed for years and never did this and now years on I think it would be lovely to have something like this. I have no recommendations but wanted to say something positive to counteract the unpleasantness. Well done OP. Go for it!

SunnyWarrington · 08/06/2025 23:56

Sparkle and Co
These ones are silver, but I'm sure Megan would be happy to discuss whether it was possible to gold plate them. (Disclaimer: never bought from her, but taught her years ago and she's lovely)

No it's solidified in resin or glass
