My most extreme places are:

Mine are a bit lame so keep them coming. Points will be awarded for originality, distance from home and opportunities for disapproving looks

on a coach, bus, train, car, park bench, shops, several restaurants and cafe's, oh...uummm...on a beach...with bikini top off .

yogabird · 06/05/2008 20:56

on a little boat on the way to the Farne Islands, surrounded by seals and lurching around. Am not a good sailor and the extreme part involves vomiting several times, leaning over dd's head (still latched on) into a bucket held by grandad! this was then lowered over the side and swilled out in the waves ready for refilling!
The best part was that dh said we must do the boat trip today cos the forecast for the rest of the week is going to be grim for a boat trip. Like a millpond every other day til we left to come home - you might be sure!

OK...

SW Coast Path - several places in Devon and Cornwall
On mountain in Snowdonia (OK not at summit - about 100m lower than the summit) - but still on a mountain!
In front of my boss (male in 50s) on at least 2 occasions.
On a Duke of Edinburgh Award navigation training event (me giving the training)

Not to mention trains, bus..car, parks, churches, cafes

Ikea - in one of their display rooms. Well, you gotta' test it out haven't you?

Probably be easier to list where we haven't breastfed?

Tortington · 07/05/2008 00:53

i was on my first mission with NCIS. i had finished making my hand made boat baby latched to breast, when a call came in...there was a dead navy seal 30 fathoms under the sea.

so i donned wetsuit ( the one with room to breastfeed as per eu regulations) and whilst solving the mystery of the dead navy seal ( which was linked to the end of the known world...al queda suspects abound and jethro giving me longing looks becuase i had dyed my hair red) despite all this i breastfed twins until they were 6

While not exactly an extreme place for BF, I remember being able to feed DS2 at the breast while making a cup of coffee or emptying the washing machine at the same time.

Amazing how many things you learn to do one-handed isn't it?!

PMSL @ Custy

Just remembered... I answered the door while bfing, I knew it was the postman with a parcel, and thought didn't want to trek across town to pick it up the next day. Only I had to sign for it! Just about managed, though ds came off while I was awkwardly trying to sign, don't think I flashed the postie... it was a lady postie anyway!

Cadmum · 07/05/2008 07:15

Custy: WOW! Who knew? Red hair even!

piximon · 07/05/2008 11:17

Fed DS3 on the little train ride at Paignton Zoo and while walking around the supermarket at the weekend.

This time around I'm trying to overcome the body issues that kept me in loads with the others so I'm in awe of some of the places you've all fed your babies.

wobbegong · 07/05/2008 11:24

On a train, where the rest of the carriage was occupied by 26 extremely rowdy rugby lads off on a jolly, all of whom were too pissed to notice.

duchesse · 07/05/2008 11:30

Rush hour train, church, in the sea once as I remember, during a wedding (my friend also bf my then 1 yr old daughter during another wedding cos I was foolishly wearing the Wrong Sort of Dress), during (classical) concerts, while making a cup of tea, cooking, etc etc. I did pretty much everything with a baby/ toddler hanging off my chest for about 5 years.

duchesse · 07/05/2008 11:34

Oooh, forgot the memorial service in Winchester Abbey! Full of elderly gay men. One of them came up to us after the service and remarked how lovely it was to have a baby at a memorial service. And he even meant it. A month later, and I fed him at another funeral (husbands uncle's )

duchesse · 07/05/2008 11:35

Cathedral, not abbey!
