I had heard a rumour it was, but it isn't in their "what's on" listings.

However, I did find this on their website today, which seems to be a little more balanced in terms of debate. Perhaps it is hoping to do the piece without warning us [cloak and dagger emoticon]

Dr Hillary's comments will make you want to flick his silly head though.

You have been warned.

It's like they wanted reassuring that she too had a cut off age after which bf is weird and disgusting.
Like "well of course I won't still be feeding her when she's six! urgh"

EdieMcredie · 06/02/2008 09:48

Im hoping there were GPs across the country going ''shutup, shutup'' to Dr Hillary. Id certainly be ashamed if I had the same career as him!

harpsichordcarrier · 06/02/2008 09:48

tosser is too good for him
I was thinking, more like......

purplemonkeydishwasher · 06/02/2008 09:49

purplemonkeydishwasher · 06/02/2008 09:51

CalicoHollyFlint · 06/02/2008 09:55

Has anyone seen the posts on the GMTV forum after babieseverywhere's post? What a bunch of twats!

StealthPolarBear · 06/02/2008 09:58

wheres the forum?

BabiesEverywhere · 06/02/2008 09:59

LOL, I know I expected it, but challenging stupid people's opinions is good for their development.

CalicoHollyFlint · 06/02/2008 10:00

I keep trying to post on the forum, but it won't let me! I want to stick my oar in!

BabiesEverywhere · 06/02/2008 10:01

SPB
Forum

You have to be moderated onto the forum, I did this last week in preparation for the article. I think it took a couple of hours to be 'approved' to be a member.

CalicoHollyFlint · 06/02/2008 10:03

Oh bugger!

StealthPolarBear · 06/02/2008 10:04

sorry i was wondering when comments on that page would show up

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 06/02/2008 10:06

Urgh, you can't log in to post straight away! You have to wait for them to let you. Argh, what a bunch of ill informed idiots!

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 06/02/2008 10:07

Yeah, mothers are apparently selfish for "forcing" feeding their babies past a year. Words fail me, they really do.

harpsichordcarrier · 06/02/2008 10:08

babieseverywhere, you must reply to this:

"apart from the fact that she was saying her 4 and a half yr old was benefitting from still being fed. dont agree with that. the child will have gotten all the nutrition it can from milk a long time ago."

so she doesn't give her child milk then, or cheese or, say food??

harpsichordcarrier · 06/02/2008 10:10

bumper there are a lot of very stupid people in the world.
present company excepted

purplemonkeydishwasher · 06/02/2008 10:10

i sent this to GMTV:

Is Dr Hilary is really a doctor?? His comments about extended breastfeeding are ignorant and INCORRECT.
If he's so wrong about extended breastfeeding (and he is so wrong) then what else is he wrong about? There are people out there who trust this man. Perhaps GMTV should look into sending 'Dr' Hilary on a few courses just to brush up on, well, medicine.

it took all the will power i have to not swear.

CalicoHollyFlint · 06/02/2008 10:12

How do you force a child to breastfeed?

No wonder the bfing rate in this country is so low with such ill-informed idiots inflicting their opinions on people!

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 06/02/2008 10:13

Hmm, let's see if we can start one of those "internet campaigns" that us mothers' websites are so notorious for.

CalicoHollyFlint · 06/02/2008 10:14

What a "Ban Hilary Jones from TV and medicine in general because he is a twunt" campaign!

BabiesEverywhere · 06/02/2008 10:18

Harspi,

For you
