Here's a fresh thread!

Let's start by introducing us/babies again Grin

Same here missmugoo except I still don't go to bed before midnight Grin It is great that DS will go 8pm-4am but it still only means 4 hours sleep for me Hmm

I really wish I could fall asleep earlier but I just can't switch off Sad

mrsmugoo · 14/09/2014 20:39

I got used to it when he was going through his really crap sleep stage - if I didn't go to bed by 8 I wouldn't get even a hope in hell of getting a 3 hour stretch all night as he'd be awake by 11 and every 2 hours thereafter.

Now I'm just greedy - if I can be asleep by 10 and I might get 6 consecutive hours sleep it's just too tantalising to resist!

AuntieMaggie · 14/09/2014 20:42

waiting for ds to wake up for his last feed before bed. He's not fed properly Since about 5 and has been a bit unsettled since pooing for the first time in 2 days. He could do with a bath but not sure I want to brave that tonight!

Writerwannabe83 · 14/09/2014 20:51

I top-and-tailed mine tonight Maggie as he has seemed a bit under the weather today - I don't think he was in the mood at all for a fun bath time experience. I think his gums are a bit sore as his cheeks have been so flushed today and his feeding hasn't been great - I actually had to get my pump out earlier to express as my boobs were so full and uncomfortable due to DS's reluctance to feed.

He's been asleep now for 30 minutes so I'm fully expecting him to wake up and cry within the next 15 minutes!!

Cariad007 · 14/09/2014 20:58

Does anyone else find that their DC will feed, fall asleep and drop off the boob and then suddenly 20 mins later their mouths are wide open searching for your nipple again in their sleep?

DP took the cutest photo of DS feeding yesterday. He had his leg up and was casually resting one foot in my cleavage!

Writerwannabe83 · 14/09/2014 21:03

Mine does that too Cariad and when he's doing hi dI think to myself, "please don't wake up!!!"

Writerwannabe83 · 14/09/2014 21:05

Sorry - my phone has gone mental!! I meant to say that when he's doing his sleepy searchingly I'm praying he doesn't wake up!!

Cannotbelieveit · 14/09/2014 22:19

Writer we've both just replied to a thread about a certain dating website. Spookily similar stories we both have Wink

Writerwannabe83 · 14/09/2014 22:21

I might have to go look at your reply then Smile

I really wasn't too keen on DH when I met him and after our 2nd date I was going to tell him I didn't want to see him again!! My best friend told me to give him one more chance and I'm so glad I did Grin

Cariad007 · 14/09/2014 22:37

I met DP through a Facebook group that hated the Daily Mail!

AuntieMaggie · 14/09/2014 22:52

I have lots of cute pics of ds with my boob in my fave is where he has his arms wrapped around my boob! He now tries to move my nipple into the right position and pulls up my top! He's also discovered his willy and balls and sometimes grabs at them when I change his nappy with such force I'm sure it must hurt!

Cannotbelieveit · 14/09/2014 23:03

Nowt wrong with online dating! Wouldn't be where I am today without it Wink

Evening anyone awake tonight ?? I'm having the same problem again little pickle (ps what is ds? ) won't settle well only on me! I'm trying the hot water Bottle in the cot but I've put him down 4 times already only for him to wake in 15 mins
Had a bad day today a bit emotional I think my milks coming in, you think that's why he's feeding so much

Cannotbelieveit · 15/09/2014 02:30

It will settle Sammy! I promise. It's usual to feed a little emotional around day 4.

DS is dear/darling son. There's a list somewhere on here of all the abbreviations

AuntieMaggie · 15/09/2014 03:44

sammy its normal for him to be feeding so much in the first few weeks. And he's been inside you for 9 months so is used to your heartbeat so will take time to get used to being put down. Just keep trying. you'll also get used to how to put him down so he doesn't wake. At this stage he's still nocturnal and doesn't know the difference between day and night.

Have you wrapped him in a blanket when he's on you? if you wrap him tightly in a blanket when you're holding him he'll still be warm and smell of you when you put him down and his arms won't jerk in his sleep. I also put a blanket gently over ds after I put him down so he stays warm.make sure you're sat somewhere that means minimal movement when you get up, let him fall asleep on your lap rather than tightly held and then when you get to the moses basket hold him for a minute over the basket before really gently lowering him and if he stirs just hold him in the basket for a minute shushing if that helps him. A hand on his belly and a little shushing helps mine if he stirs. Also don't pick him up straight away.

good luck - were on a 1.5-2 hour schedule again tonight! Sad

AuntieMaggie · 15/09/2014 03:48

Having said all that enjoy your time holding him - in a few weeks you'll be wondering where your newborn has gone as they grow so fast.

AuntieMaggie · 15/09/2014 05:25

Just remembered the midwife suggesting putting the moses basket mattress on my lap so when he fell asleep you weren't moving him to a new surface but moving him with the mattress into the basket.

Writerwannabe83 · 15/09/2014 05:41

Morning all!!

He went from 20.20 to 05.30!!!!

I can't believe it!!!!

Cariad007 · 15/09/2014 05:55

Ds went from 2230-530 so not bad, and with any luck he will sleep til 8ieh. However it's nearly 6am and I'm wide away, grr!

Writerwannabe83 · 15/09/2014 06:01

I'm still waiting for DS to drop off again and I have a feeling it'll be a long wait....

Cannotbelieveit · 15/09/2014 07:00

DS did 8pm-2.20am and then 3am-6.45am so a big improvement on the last couple weeks. Let's hope it continues Grin

OP posts:
mrsmugoo · 15/09/2014 08:18

This one did 6:50pm - 2:30am then straight back down til 5:30 but basically didn't go back to sleep after that.

I handed him to DH (who's briefly here today between two trips away) at about 6:15.

Heaven knows how today will pan out with such an early rising. I'm sure he won't managed on two naps!

Writerwannabe83 · 15/09/2014 09:00

He finally went back to sleep at 6.20am after I relented and bought him in with me. I then also fell asleep so we've both had another 2.5 hours Smile

Looks like we've all had generally good nights Smile

mrsmugoo · 15/09/2014 10:17

I should have just brought him in with me but I'm trying to knock that on the head to encourage properly sleeping through.

Writerwannabe83 · 15/09/2014 10:20

Same here Grin

I left him gurgling away to himself for just over half an hour in his cot but then I gave in - I needed sleep Grin Grin
